They are great left handed drill bits are a lifesaver but are one of the things you cant cheap out on the last thing you want is a snapped off drill bit in a broken bolt your trying to extract that can become a real nightmare.

I just picked up a set of Harbor Freight lh bits they are junk consistent with the rest of the products.

If you happen to have a set look at the way they are sharpened it is flat not a radius like a good jobbers drill. A few of mine like they were sharpened on a belt sander with 100 grit paper.

I did pick up a welding blanket, as I need to weld a railing in my house I just hope it does not burst into flames.

No idea what you're talking about. Have you actually used them?

Of course, HF might have changed suppliers or something. There are two item numbers listed on HF's web site.

The bits I have are item #95146. No idea on COO -- it's not listed on the case and I tossed the packaging long ago. The reviews on HF's site are excellent. The other item number has no reviews.

I just used my HF set last night to remove four stuck bolts from a vintage motorcycle -- three 5mm and one 6mm. Two of the 5mm were stainless steel some dillhole installed without antiseize.

With some Tap Magic lube, the bits cut "like buttuh", as always -- nice long curly chips, little heat.

Mine are from China, dug up the package last night.

The point I was trying to make is they are not sharpened well, it is crude.
You should not see grind marks on the clearance area, two the cutting edge is not straight. Look at a good drill bit, not a cheap HF one, you will notice a difference.
I am afraid to use them in a critical situation.

I bought the deburring bits and I was using the small one, same company. It deburred 20 holes in Aluminum before it fell apart and I was doing it by hand not using a power tool.

I have learned two things about HF they have mostly **** that is designed to fail in a short period of time. & there loyal followers have no idea what a good tool is they are happy to save money and have a toolbox filled with junk.

Ok, this is the first time I've used that banner. But it would be really interesting to see close up photos of bwinger's and pi_guy's LH drill bits. :)

Perhaps they are very different. Or perhaps it's more a matter of how they look as opposed to how they actually function.
