That is a nice one. It also dates 1929 as the year they started putting the size on the wrench. I have a 1929 with the size on it. I also have undated wrenches with the model number only. Yours is in great condition. Here is a 1929 (-29 date code) Blue Point Boxocket XS1214 short double offset DBE I found today as part of a multi item (total $2 spent) pick at an estate sale.
Interesting, thanks. I don't really collect SO, but this one just had that look. That is a nice one. It also dates 1929 as the year they started putting the size on the wrench. I have a 1929 with the size on it. I also have undated wrenches with the model number only. Yours is in great condition.

There was one recently on eBay that sold for $485. I got so excited that I sold mine with a buy-it-now for $400. I netted just over $350. Mine sold in less than an hour.

Since there was competition pushing the price up, I listed mine at buy-it-now for $400 when the price of the other one was $405. I didn’t think it would sell, but it did, in less than an hour. I thought it was a fluke that one would go that high, but apparently more people thought it was worth more, and bid it up. Funny thing is that I had just given one away not too long ago! Usually if I want it, it is gold, and if I have it, it is brown!I saw that. If I were to sell this one I would probably do it as an auction, or maybe not, I am impatient.

Ha! I sold one of mine for $425 that same day. It was only listed for about 4-5 hours. Pretty nice considering I bought it for $5.There was one recently on eBay that sold for $485. I got so excited that I sold mine with a buy-it-now for $400. I netted just over $350. Mine sold in less than an hour.
Are the old black handled screwdrivers worth anything?
Thanks, was hoping you would answer. Since it had a regular ball for retention as well as what I assume was a pin lock, and it has been destroyed, this puts this tool in the “user “. category, and not something special, right?Looks like LA-12. Probably from the early 40s
I always left mine in place, but I’m the kind of ****-retentive ******* that has a pocket screwdriver!Actually those pins were aggravating to use. I would grind mine off, too, as a user.
