I have seen them with either. This rat looks to good to have been rebuilt.
Does Bluepoint count? I have some old Snappy stuff, but am currently working on an old Bluepoint Boxocted X24 from 1929.
Now I need some more!
This is a 24" 3/4" drive unit. The little detent ball implies that it had a cheater pipe at one time. I doubt I will ever break this tool.
EDIT: After a little research: this is a 20 tooth ratchet wrench made between 1945-1948.

Picked this fella up today. Under a thick coat of rust, I could see "ap-on" but the knurl pattern was unfamiliar. Navy aeronautics spark plug socket, but what era? Is the | under USN a one, and would that be 1941? It's not the usual style of date code. Maybe there isn't a date code on this guy.

A 13 piece Blue Point Whitworth DOE wrench set. These would date 40s and 50s. A very hard set to put together![]()

I have a KTA - 3 Snap on tote tray that I am trying to date. From the catalogs on Collecting Snap on it looks like it was made in the 1960s. In the stamped nomenclature after the Kenosha, Wisc. there are the numerals 63. Is this the manufacture date? It is just barely readable in the right picture.
Thanks for that 3bay, hadn't seen that article. Now it just gave me 2 more companies to research! I had just assumed they only made pliers. While staring at that pic, I thought I saw the telltale supreme line in the shank.Cool picture. Those would probably be Blue Point Supreme wrenches. Collecting Snap On has a neat article about Newport.

I was wondering if anyone could possibly identify the wrenches in this picture. Believe it or not, this picture (according to the newspaper it was published in) was taken at the Forged Steel Products plant in Newport, PA. The article states they make wrenches, which I don't recall ever seeing referred to before. As a point of reference, this picture is from a 1940 newspaper article.
