That's a good 1/3-HP rtop (probably m-397.19580) with a CM stand.

Maybe this will help.

Great info, as usual. My newest 3/4hp (that filthy commercial roundtop block shown a few posts ago) is a new one for your list: 397.19671
Same as the 397.19470 for specs (6.0/3.0 amps). Don't really know what else is different.
There are only shreds of the original label (its not a metal style plaque like the 397.19670), but I can make out "craftsman commercial", "3/4 HP grinder", "totally enclosed", "ball bearing", "capacitor start motor", "style 3084", as well as the 5/8 shaft, currents, and a few others. It's just too dirty to take a pic.So far, we have seen two variations in the 397.19670's. An Commercial Industrial Rated:

And a Commercial Totally Enclosed:

Can you tell what the 397.19671 says?
No art work, sorry. That's the same model I need label artwork for. Anyone already have that??
I think that will work. I have a graphic artist friend that might be able to do that for me. Thanks! No art work, sorry.
I do have a really good label.

The color is not correct in the 2nd shot. I can re-shoot a picture today. It's suppose to be sunny.
Also, there's this one.

Good to hear it!Sorry boys, this one came home with me yesterday morning. Got it for $30!!!
Good to hear it!
Keep us up-to-date on your efforts to clean it up/restore it, ....
Dutchess County - was that much of a trip from you? Upstate NY covers a lot, but being from Central (upstate) NY, I think of Syracuse, Finger Lakes region as upstate.
BTW - Any questions, just ask.

It is 'up the river' though! It was actually less than 10 min away from me. I live in Dutchess county as well. You're right, Dutchess county is not exactly upstate NY. I'm just used to people I know further down south referring to it that way.

Ex: i'm looking for one of those big bases with the water tray and cool tool rests so don't blame you for snagging them off the old 3/4 block. of course with your talent you can spiff that 3/4 HP up and maybe put a couple wire wheels on it and sell it to one of us since you probably own more grinders than all of us except Doc.

Physically, it looks like your 397.19670 except it came with the deluxe cast iron base and had no bottom plate.
Well, you would think it would be as easy as that, but nooooo....
---This has turned into more work than planned....

I think I got it. The half horse commercials did the same thing. 397.19590 with the metal tag and metal framed eye shields. And the 397.19591 had the adhesive label and the plastic eye shields.

Exeter: cool looking label and i like the Heritage badge a lot. if i ever find a 3/4 HP block that has a bad label i will PM you to see if you can make one for me.
McB: any new additions to the Blockmeister speaking of doing a little extra work on a 3/4 HP?![]()
I have the multilayered Photoshop file where you can edit each of the text fields. You can also change colors, turn on or off a white background depending on what you are going to print on etc. You can even swap out the logo for the crown or the more modern logo. I could post it, but I don't know how many of the readers here have Photoshop to edit the file...

This one came with the deluxe cast iron base and does have a bottom plate. No date on it.
That's the same one I just got---and I found the bottom plate. I must have spaced out....
Do your tool rests have big windows ground into them? Mine do. Would like to fix them and replace the sticker (somebody?/anybody?) before I sell it.
Yep, windows in the tool rests. One has a crack in it as well, so my plan is to mill them flat and epoxy fresh plates onto them. Thoughts??
PS, where are you in northern IL?
Yeah, I'm gonna take a little off the tops on my "belt grinder mill". Then drill, tap, and counter sink screws through some "1/4 plate near the rear of the rests. Then finish the edges on my "belt grinder shaper". Probably put some right stuff between them on final assembly. I'm in Rockford.
I'm not too far from you: I work in Huntley and live in Geneva/St Charles
It is 'up the river' though!
Welcome to Block ownership/care-taking! Is this your 1st Block?

"... 2 different 1 hp blocks. Both in brand new, unused condition. ..."Thanks TM. This was actually my 5th block. It all started with two 1/2 hp blocks. Then I was fortunate enough to find 2 different 1 hp blocks. Both in brand new, unused condition. Now this commercial 3/4 hp. All 5 of them look exactly the same as they are all the flat top models. Now that I have 3 of the bigger boys I might thin the herd a little and get rid of the 1/2 hp models.

Less than a week into the restoration and here's where I'm at. New paint, bearings, cord, hardware. Just need stones, tool rests, eye shields and the new label to finish her up.
Here's what she looked like before:
