Picked up the replacement sticker at the printers today.
She did a great job.
Now to put this grinder to work!
Wow! Really nice job with both the grinder and the sticker.

So, you shot clear coat over the sticker after it was made and applied to the grinder, or they put some kind of clear coating on it before you got it?
What was the cost if you don't mind me asking.
The sticker has an overlamination on it.
I didn't clear coat the grinder.
The printer said a vinyl sticker with over lamination would be more durable.
It cost me $20
Was going to be $15 but she had to reconfigure the file.
It was expensive because I was only having one sticker made.
Even with the cost. I am totally satisfied.
Even with the cost of the sticker and paint. I am only into this grinder $40 total.

Looks like you got the sticker made to the exact same original size. Was it die cut?
Yes, she made it to the original dimensions.
I don't know what die cut means.
JZ is referring to a steel rule die that would be used with a punch press or traveling head press. Something like the attached photo, but probably not as big.
Most likely with a vinyl cutter, which is like 2D plotter with a blade. The blade swivels to turn with the direction of travel, like a weather vane into the wind.
There would have been a die charge to make the die cutter.
Speaking of vinyl stickers, has anyone tried this method to reproduce one for the smaller block grinders that have the aluminum plate riveted on? Most have gone the way of water-slide decals, however for the life of me I can't get it to stay on the aluminum plate.
This is the last step I need to complete my 1/3hp block grinder and been thinking to go to a vinyl sticker on the aluminum plate. Even though it's not original in look I think it'll be just fine, maybe more durable. Thanks for any opinions? David
This is a decent deal in Salem, Oregon
Someone should ****** it up.

I'm going to bite the bullet and go with the vinyl sticker. Depending on cost per sticker, I may have a bunch made, hopefully to sell on this thread to offset some of the money spent on the failed water-slide supplies. What did you decide to do?

ANY TAKERS?
I "see" said the blind man to the deaf man as he picked up his hammer and saw.

Depends on model. I could use a couple of the 1/3hp labels.

Pup - Would the 1/3 hp stickers be all of one kind, or could we send along our info so they would be for our 1/3hp grinder?
This is my 1/3hp model that I have. I already have the tag file already made up detailed almost identical to the original. Second attachment shows how I can get six to a sheet.
I had also purchased aluminum of the same gauge. Was thinking of selling them with the "sticker" already mounted to the new aluminum with holes punched out.

I'll need to first find out if I can have all six on one sheet done, then cut out individually by me or if it would be more efficient to have individual ones made and cut by them. I'm thinking it would be cheaper, efficient and cleaner looking to have individuals made and cut.

This Friday afternoon I'm going to one sign making place down the street and see what they can offer and for how much. I really need to get this Block grinder and two other machine tags done as soon as possible so I can move onto the next rebuild/resto.

Nice Block.Getting this block as partial payment for helping a friend. We found it left behind in one of his rentals. Model 397.19440 marked Craftsman Commercial, 1/2 hp. Looks complete except for quench tray, works nice and smooth.
