So my wife has a friend down the street that does a bunch of rescue work. Evidently someone found a litter of 5-6 puppies in a cardboard box abandoned next to a dumpster at a construction site and took them to her. She did her thing with shots, fixing, chips, etc. bringing them back to health for adoption. They were all adopted out except this one little guy, which she said nobody wanted him because he was a black dog. Huh? Anyways, she ends up getting another batch of parvo puppies in and my wife offers to foster him for a while until she can find him a home. Long story short, it’s my fault as after a couple of weeks I couldn’t stand the thought of him going away, so now he’s a foster-fail and part of our family. We're guessing he's about 6-7 months old. Super-cuddly, ****-wiggling, face-licking, and an all-around lovable Good Boy. Meet Charlie.

With the rest of our rescue-pack.

My brother, a former mechanic & current auto shop teacher, always wants black dogs. His thinking is that black dogs don't show grease marks. :bounce:
But the drawback is when they rub against the freshly painted posts on the front porch, they show the white paint easily. Ask me how I know.

Fifi on her way to the dog park today - her FAVORITE place to go.

Yes, I bought her some "doggles" - she HATED them. She wouldn't stick her head out of the window with them on so I returned them. Good news is she pulls her head back in after about 40 mph. LOVES it when I'm in residential areas going slowly. She's a very sweet girl, just turned 2 years old.

The garage dogs got to go on their first road trip this week. The wife and I helped my brother pack up his house in Tulsa and move him to Phoenix.

We're on the return trip home and we stopped at the White Sands National Park for a little sight seeing.

My boy is a huge fan of nose in the wind riding, he only gets enough window for his head though. Many years ago I had a Chow exit the window of my Blazer at 60 mph. He saw a cow and was gojng to eat it, thankfully I was able to get a handful of rump hair. I had one leg in the window, the rest of his body was casually hanging out side the door.20200103_112153.jpg20200202_102048.jpg

I used to buckle my guy in, since he has settled down a bit he gets free reign of new truck. Window still only goes down enough for head to fit through, he'd go after small game in an instant.

Yesterday he had a rough vet visit, thankfully was warm enough to have the first window down drive afterwards.

Funny how feral cats, bunny rabbits, squirrels, fledgling chicks, and half dead roadkill don't stand a chance here with my boy, but the little ***** Yorkie, "Hula"( love her, she's great, they been friends for years) from the neighbors can come over here in a heartbeat and stop everything :ROFLMAO:

I wish I had puppy pictures, I got him at around 9 months, the first pic is probably the day I got him, he's a good boy.

We're out camping and visiting family this week. Staying at this RV site - the only one near family
and saw these signs. If there were any other place somewhat nearby I'd stay there instead.

No problem with requiring people to clean up after their dogs but the way they put it AND with this supposed "insurance" limitation I think the truth is they don't really want dogs around.

I have actually seen a similar list before when I was getting my homeowners insurance at AAA. I remember asking if I did own one of the those breeds. My agent said they would still insure but they wouldn't pay any claims for those breeds. They didn't consider mutts, they had to be a pure breed.

I use State Farm as they don't dog discriminate like a lot of insurance companies. I have three Rottweilers now. I've had six total over the years and none have ever hurt anyone.

My niece has a Rottweiler mix that is freaking HUGE. She is the sweetest, most calm dog you'd ever want to meet. My little shithead (but sweet) poodle has apso mix gets "nipy" with big dogs. Doesn't bite but noses them and will get snappish. She didn't care. Just looked at him like, "REALLY?!"

It's all in how they are treated since puppyhood. If all they've ever known is affection and good treatment, been kept away from aggressive dogs while they were little they do't really know ho to be aggressive. Not any dogs fault they are big or strong.
