^^ It looks warm and sunny there. Great photos of the pup.

Here's ours from yesterday.

What a complete opposite! We've just had a 7-day heatwave with temps above 40c / 104f temps. Those pics were taken at a lovely 25c / 77f. I certainly don't envy those snowy conditions, but then the heat last week was hell.

Attempting to distract him from chasing my toes, the pouch on the front holds a treat to keep him intrigued.

We bought one of these snuffle mats off Amazon to keep Lucy occupied when she was a pup. We hid loads of small treats or kibble in it. She'd eat her food like it was the last food she'd ever see so it also slowed her down a bit.

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll have to look into getting one.

That would be nice but after 3 days our little velociraptor has destroyed 2 toys. This boy has some bite. Might have to buy some tough leather toys.

We've had our best success with "Tuffy" brand toys. In a moment of pure frustration I payed more than I thought reasonable for a dog toy. But I was getting desperate. It's been over 2 years & I haven't had to replace one yet. The price seems more reasonable today since they have survived so long. We have both the dolphin & the alligator. The dolphin gets played with a lot. Grabbing the dorsal fin & whipping it around is the favorite game.

I'm not affiliated with these guys in any way. Just a dog owner who got tired of payig for toys that didn't survive the first day.

They say they have different levels of toughness.

Roxi was out chasing a critter of some sort the other night. She came in later and had of her nail partly separated with a little bit of bleeding. I picked up some MicrocyAH wound care stuff, and have been dressing up the wound. Hope it heals up soon. She limps/favors that paw on occasion, but it really hasn't slowed her down.

Breaks my heart to have to post this, I lost my best friend and co-pilot today, just a week shy of 13 yrs, came to stay a couple of yrs ago when his moma was unable to care for him through no fault of her own.
He was a true gentleman in every wayIMG_7160.jpeg

As someone who has just gone through the same thing, I'm so sorry to read that.

Not a day goes by that I don't think about my little guy, so my thoughts are with you.

Why do I get the impression he didn't want to be having a bath?

IMG-9726.jpg

The little champ had his second vaccination this morning, my first visit to the vet after Faych passed away. They were there when I was at my lowest, to watch people go through that would have to be tough. And yet, today they got to see a new relationship developing, the beginning rather than the end. He had everyone captivated, particularly his eyes and apparently long eye lashes. He gave them all that trusting, all-in love and affection that Cockers are known for.

Our Labs are fanatical swimmers but get rain on their faces, NO WAY. They look so patheric if they are dragged out in the rain. How could we possibly betray them and do that (so the look seems)?
And they are too big and strong to risk wrestling into the bath tub!

Olly's second venture into the paddle pool, this time he needed no invitation. It was about 40-deg c (104 f) on that day, so I think he enjoyed the relief. Later on, he was also jumping in after a tennis ball, so I think I might have a swimmer on my hands.

Here is my little guy. The last dog that I will probably ever have, because he is young and I am so old. He is also the first small dog that I have ever had, at 4 lb 12 oz. I always had big dogs, Weimeraners, German Shepherds, German Shorthairs, and a Greyhound rescue.MVC-003L.JPG
The little ones have so much spirit.

This dog is very laid back, and if we could only housebreak him, he would be perfect. When we are home, he will play with a small ball if you play with him. He has a toy box that any dog would be envious of, but he has no interest in any of them. When my wife was in the hospital and then recovering, he was alone a lot and never destroyed anything. He was also a great eater, and when she came home, she spoiled him; now he's become very picky. If I put it in the bowl, he will eat it. If she puts something into the bowl, he will sniff it and walk away. I will spoon-feed him if I have to, because at 5 pounds, he can't afford to lose any weight.
