The sweet girl with her pink collar is Isabella. She's enjoying her pillow as it is bedtime. She's a rescue Great Dane and is the biggest sweetheart. The second picture is Soxx, he's keeping his momma cozy as he's a Great Dane/Husky mix. He's a big goofball but he's great company.

This is Barney. We jokingly call the shop his doghouse. He loves it out there.

Not mine but my daughters, a cute 3 month old puppy.
Her funny sleeping habits
At 9 months, playing with the end of a piece of plastic pipe, taken last christmas. And yes she is still growing.

We hand raised a litter of five border collies in 2006. This is an old picture of Bear. We had to put him down in 2012 due to surprise bladder cancer. I have since brought Ares down from Alaska to stay with me in Reno since my parents moved out of state. My sister still lives in Anchorage with the third one from that litter that we kept.

This is Bear and Ares enjoying their favorite game, playing tug-of-war with a ground squirrel that they chased down all by themselves.

In a blueberry patch at 11pm. He would lay on his back and eat them off the branches Lol.

Here's Bear with Sammie, our rescued McNab, next to a porcupine.

Attached picture is the only one I could find of Spike (my sister's dog). He's the border collie on the left in front of the people. He stayed down here with us for a year and we took him through the Rubicon once. He is not allowed in my canoe anymore after that trip Lol.

6 years ago we got Zeus from a shelter where he'd been born and lived his whole life in a cage to that point. Think he was happy to see he now had a big fenced yard to run in?

He's a really good dog, and ever vigilant on guard duty.

A couple years ago we thought Zeus would like a canine companion so we got Zena from a roadside free puppies sign. Zeus immediately took her under his wing and showed her the ropes.

The two of them are inseparable. Zeus has always been super friendly, but he plays rough and we were afraid he would hurt Zena with her being so small, but he never did. Now that she's grown up she's the boss (go figure!), but they are still the best of friends.

I gotta admit that Zena enjoys spending time with the cats too.

Except this cat. He's the real boss of the animals in our house and both dogs give him a lot of respect. Actually they're both half afraid of him.

My Dane is a rescue too. Rescues are the best dogs.

This is Mittens. We found Mittens as a Farrel kitten in early December. We lured him into our shop so he didn't freeze to death. After 1.5 months he finally trusted us enough to let us touch him. He obviously got over his fears of us.

Here is a pic of Jude on his way home from the shelter. All he needs is crossed eyes and a beanie with a prop on top. We were going to foster him but after he took a SH!T in my car on the way home the girlfriend said he claimed me. Had him about 2 months and doing great. Also have 3 Greyhounds in the house, and a 1200 sq ft boarding kennel.

I installed a new doggie door yesterday for Team *** Clown. This makes life easier for everyone at my house.

The yellow dog, Carmen, picked right up on it and is enjoying her freedom.

The chocolate girl, Dulci, is still a little hesitant, but I'm sure she'll get the hang of it in a few days.

There's a special place in heaven for someone who takes a dog that's lived in a cage and given it a yard like this. The look on this dog's face is priceless, he's overjoyed.. And that you took in another? You - and ALL the people on this thread that adopt are special folks. It's a pleasure to see all these healthy, happy pets!

Beautiful dog. My guess would be an Australian Shepherd/Australian Cattle Dog (heeler) mix. She's got heeler/cattle dog ears, tail and snout, but more of a Australian Shepherd like coat and build.

Spent the day out in the shop with our new puppy Colt. We picked him up from a rescue about a month ago. He spent most of the time exploring.

Supposed to be Boxer/BullMastiff mix, But betting she is a Lab/Boxer mix. Almost lost her the other day, went to see the UP 4-8-8-4 4014 pass through the area, a different train scared her and she was out of her harness, up an embankment across 2 lanes of traffic, another embankment and over a fence... While she is locator chipped, we did find her 30 minutes later and half mile from where she started. She was up those embankments like she was crossing flat ground... And I did get to see the 4014, 4 hours later. Regardless, she IS getting better about staying close in the garage, but is still too excitable and just won't relax in the garage. Yet.

LONG time lurker but first post. I figure it might as well be about the dog!

This is Bocephus (on paper) but we call him Hank. He is my 4 1/2 year old buddy who goes everywhere I can take him! He does a heck of a job keeping people away but loves the family.

This is Dixie as she appeared to us, the day after Christmas several years ago. About 6 months old according to the vet, cold and hungry. It was about 20 degrees outside, I was working in the shop with the door open to vent some welding fumes. She wandered in and laid down on the welding blanket I had on the floor.

And her a few days later after she claimed us, she got her shots, checked for a chip, and a found ad in the paper-turned up nothing.

She stuck around a short while, maybe 8 months or so, and moved on, no clue what happened to her, the next dogs we had chipped so that hopefully won't happen again.

Here's the latest addition to the gang of Labs. Bo (Beau) - I don't know. He's my daughters pup as well as 5 year old Bella.

Bo at 8 weeks.

Today at 11 weeks, Bo comes when called and sits on command; the other 2 (girls) can learn a thing or 2 from the pup.
