My previous dog was a pure bred Siberian husky,"robin" She passed 2 yrs ag from a grand mall seizure at age 12. She was diabetic, went blind from cataracts, and had her sight restored by surgery at age 9.She would not let me out of her sight My new garage dog is "precious",a fully registered large boned, long coat, black/red GSD.She is now 7 mo old and 70 lbs.She sees and hears things way before I can and with her around I'm not sure I need to carryout least on the property!I cant get the pics to post,I will add them later.

Still little, but made his 1st trip to the shed! Long walk for such short legs!
Going to need lots of rest! 12 weeks old mutt.

kane, the cane corso

I love Cane Corso's.

My buddy has a big brindled black one, that provides continuous entertainment.

We were having a cookout at his place, and he was starting to make moves toward the meat as it was coming off the grill, so my buddy put the Cane Corso on the other side of the fence.

The dog got so mad at being put there, that it tore up a 5' Juniper bush by the roots and ate it, top first.

Still, an awesome dog.

I'll have to upload a few pictures of our jerks. I have a really good picture of them sitting side by side at the end of my table saw waiting for the offcuts to fall as if it was red meat.

Couple years back I bought a house really close to ours to flip. I walked to work every morning with a coffee in one hand and a poop-bag in the other. Was really cool to have them with me at work every day. Both are (spoiled) rescues. One is a 20# ******* and the other is 47# and a little dumb. When people ask us what they are I tell them the DNA tests came back "part spoiled brat, part jerk". Don't ever get two females. A guy only has room for one of them in his life... (the older one is not happy we got her a sister)

You have an e36 and a 2002 in your signature pic. I have an e36 in the driveway and a 2002 on a rotisserie. What kind of jeep do you have? I have an old '76 Scout.

Who ‘ya calling a mutt, ‘ya mutt?!:bounce:

Yep I'm a mutt too! When my aunt on my Mom's side did some family history and came up with a bordello owner... I knew I was a mutt.

Now one of my 1st jobs at a sheet metal shop, they called me "sheep dawg" They probably still would but most of the "old guys" have passed on!

It took awhile before my pooch, Stitch, could be trusted to hang out in the garage without bolting after everything that moved and it only lasted a few years... :-( but they were a great few years of having him just hang out and chill with me :)

I was just teasing you. Glad you took it in that way.

Family stories say my grandfather actually "rode with" - if you can call it that - one of the last San Bernardino County Sheriff's posses in about 1914. He was born in 1899 so he was the little Mexican kid that took care of their horses. This is about the same as your bordello owner relation. But of course my grandfather didn't own a damn thing then. All I got was his name and a ring he bought in France when he served in Europe in WWI.

We're ALL "mutts". Every damn one of us. And the more we mix the more it seems people want to know "what you are?" Like it even matters.

I love this thread. My dog doesn't care too much for the garage but comes out every once and a while.
Awesome to see the love people have for their pets.

I never "got" the "pet" thing.

I grew up on a farm with livestock and working dogs.

The working dogs were our partners. We worked with them every day and we "loved" them, I thought. Went through a lot of them, though, which was the price of doing business. We even raised dogs for sale and trained them.

36 years later, I get my own dog, after going dog-less because of career.

I had no idea how much you could love a dog until now.

Here is Chili. I last posted about him 7 years ago in this post:
https://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?p=2672299&highlight=chili#post2672299

Since then he’s come back from the edge and gone back down the slippery slope more times than I can count. But he’s still hanging in at almost 9 years old! In his senior years, he’s also learned that he can make demands, he’s too old to be sitting around waiting for us to do things for him. Doesn’t like the shop or garage. He only comes out to satisfy his curiosity, then leaves, unless I put out his toys!

What great looking boy! I love Labradors as you can probably tell from my avatar. Chill looks sorta Labrador-is but with the wire hair of maybe an Airdale? Anyway, beautiful pooch.

He’s a golden, but he didn’t get the memo. He doesn’t retrieve anything, he keeps the prize for himself!

...especially if they’re tasty?! Lol

My Sooner (avatar) was the same way. I couldn’t possibly miss my boy more. Coming up on 3 years since he crossed rainbow bridge and as the saying goes, “If I can’t go where he went, I ain’t going!”

One of my favorite Twilight Zones - "The Hunt" - expresses that very sentiment.

The little guy was in the workshop and all over today, even got a ride on the gator. He has gained 3+ pounds in the 3 weeks we have had him. This made for one tired pup!

Not sure I posted this one before.

This little pup is my tenants pup. She follows me around, can be underfoot at times, and she is super sensitive at times. I have to be careful because if I’m super frustrated or high level, she senses it and tucks tail.

Her nickname is “Turd Burgler” because she finds the cat turds in the litter box and eats them all.

She is a handfull, but generally a good dog

Cooper Dog "helping" with mower maintenance.

Really he just wants me to mow so he can follow me around the yard for an hour.

Guess he has put his mark in the workshop... he peed in it. Not sure if he was scared by me opening the garage door. But he ran 75-80' out the other end. Was standing outside when I found him.
