Also, @ Ichabod, has Clyde grown into his head yet

his head is getting bigger with everything else. just turned 8 months, i guess about 145 pounds. in about another 8 months I will be able to get him certified as a therapy dog maybe the nursing homes and hospitals will be open by then.

Beautiful pup! I can only imagine the hugs he gives. :)

I adopted this new pup a week before Christmas. She was badly abused and overbred. Ruger is fitting right in. Still gets scared of some of the garage noises, but overall she's learning that I won't ever abuse her, and she loves to go for car and truck rides.

Here’s my dog Bruce. I lost him a year ago before Thanksgiving. Typical Golden Retriever. Everyone’s his friend and will let you pet him forever.

But also the most stubborn Golden I have had. When the parking brake was applied, he wasn’t moving.

When I posted the photos they were right side up.

We have scrapbooks of pictures from back in the old days probably fading off when digital cameras came around in the early 2000s

We first started printing them off

Then everything went to digital

Now everything is on a hard drive

So eventually just like my tools and everything else some unknown relative will be sifting through my stuff and basically throw out years of memories.

Or they will be cast aside and hopefully someday somewhere somebody will look at them and wonder who these people were and what became of them.

Dark?

Perhaps but such is life.
There was an old colonial down the street where an old couple lived probably in their 80s

I would see them working in the yard as I passed by

And then I noticed that the woman was gone.
Then the house became in disrepair
No more Flowers no more Garden.

I would occasionally see the old man moving firewood.

And then one day I noticed no activity at the house

The house sat vacant for almost a year.

Out of curiosity I stopped and my big boy German Shepherd George and I walked inside the house.
Vandal’s had already been in there/the back door was broke open.

It was an old house built in the 1700s

We walked around the place never touching anything or taking anything.

Except for. ....

A digital camera that I found in one of the upstairs bedrooms
I remove the card and brought it home and viewed the pictures.

Sure enough it was the old man and his wife in various activities.

No one else just the two of them

Christmas
Working in the yard
Etc etc.

About six months later a developer bought the property and tore the house down.

Everything went in the dumpster.

Not sure what the point of my post is.

All I know is.

Someday
None of us will be remembered.

And nothing we own means anything.

So remember taffy.
And keep the memory alive for as long as you can

JOHN: you may be correct cause even though we didn't take as many pictures in the 50's, 60's, ... the ones we did went in photo albums and most are still around today.

we won't forget Taffy or any of the other critters that we've had the pleasure of sharing our lives with.

yes sadly these furry friends do take a piece of our hearts with them when they leave us and we all wish they'd live longer.

a few years ago i was going to start a thread in FREE PARKING for our passing furry friends may they RIP, but putting something like that in that part of GJ is a **** shoot some days.

we've had a couple nice cats since Taffy and even though they are a bit easier to care for I still miss not having a dog so maybe one day again I'll get another.

take care and thanks for sharing your story

we get to borrow our daughter and son in laws dog that was a rescue about 8 years ago for about a month or two when they are out of town/country each year. he's a great dog and my son in law taught him to **** in the high grass and ivy so even though we carry poop bags on walks we rarely have to use any.

Stella: with your place you need a good dog or maybe 2 so congrats!!

sorry i'll have to post pics of Zeek later once I figure out how to use the new Windows 10 search function they changed for the worse again.

Verado- I think your boy is broken.
Mine sleeps like that too.

When I first got mine at 8 months he was crated for the first few weeks til I knew he could be trusted alone. After that the cage just sat their with the door open for a while til I broke it down...This is what he'd do.

He's dead asleep there.

We aren't sure on breed but Rottie for sure and they think some kind of spaniel?? Supposed to be 4 months but probably closer to 5 months now. They call her Reese peanut butter cup because of her colors. We are going to call her Reese, like Reese Witherspoon. Can't wait to get her.

Spike is the little one but thinks he's the big one and Lucy is my little girl; Bo is my bruiser in the chair. All 3 rescue beagles/ hounds. I'm a sucker for stubborn tri-colored dogs...my wife and I have had a few others as well but they've passed on.

This is Dixie my helper and she is wild and runs around mostly instead of helping lol. In the second picture she was helping me put bearings in my dads car and playing in the mud.

This is fancy pants. She originally was the family dog but my daughter took her to live with her while in college. She is home for a few days and I get to baby sit the dog. She is helping my work on my 66 chevelle.

These are our two miniature dachshunds, Sasha (left) and Zoey (right). To say they are spoiled would be an understatement, but they are precious to us.
