I picked up this rack in a junk store. I think it was a rack for a bathtub. It had ends that telescoped out to straddle different width bathtubs but I got rid of them. I keep the longer stuff in the middle where the supports are higher and I keep it over more on one side so small pliers can be on the short side and longer ones opposite on the other side. In the front left corner is an organizer from a stationery store. I want one more of them for the vice-grips on the front right side. Anything bigger goes with the adjustables.



I picked this rack up at the same junk store. The upright loops are about 1" apart, great for the thicker pipe wrenches etc.




I just re-arranged all this stuff do I labeled the drawers with a felt pen till I get more familiar with where it all is.

What I like about storing them on end is you can add new stuff easily and shuffle things around a bit.

I used foam blocks from computer packaging like this only black.

It was free from work after we got a few new computers. I cut out all the straight pieces out and ran them through my radial arm saw and cut slots in them to the size I wanted. I did my entire tool box rachets, extensions, wrenches and plyers. I had a small problem with some of them sliding so a few drops of hot glue were added to hold them in place, works great. I try to snap a pic or two tomorrow.

That looks like the ideal setup IMHO. Great find and re purpose. I'll have to keep that in mind next time I see a dish washer sitting by the curb.

Found these racks at a thrift store today for $1.91 each. I think they came out pretty cool! There is enough of them for 5 or 6 more racks.

I'm assuming that the shelves were some type of closet rack or?

The long locking pliers are actually from HF. I bought them a couple days ago when I had 20% off my entire order over $100. They're actually pretty decent for the $$$. They will fill a need until I can find something better.

Just in case anyone cares, they were $9.99.

Oh I know, just thought they would fill a quick need for me. The rest of my Vise-Grips are American made though.

I'm probably going to get a pair of the Grip-On's when I can find them.

One I made for my box at work. It's made out of 7018 welding rod tacked together with a stick welder. I like it and it works well.

These are in my home box made from wire shelving, I'm not completely happy with it but it will work until I find something I like better.

Thought this thread could use a bump. Here's my new set up, it really freed up a lot of room, now I need more pliers to fill all the empty spaces I have now. I'm much happier with this set-up than the last one I had.

Here's a quick plier rack made from an old dish rack I had collecting dust in my basement. It's amazing how much more room there is already. I just need to get a few more to organize the rest of this drawer and the other drawer I have full of pliers.

At least nobody got hurt. No money changed hands until he had your rack done and ready to ship,IIRC. I'd still be in for a couple if he ever gets back to making them.

After waiting months for Matt to build another round of racks, I ordered a Plyworx Pliers Rack. I should have got one years ago!

1st pic was before the rack.
2nd with the rack, same pliers.
3rd, shows the rack with a lot more pliers that my plier drawer can now hold in a controlled manner. Much improved

After looking through this whole post then looking at the the various racks that can be bought as well as the things that has been used to make some... it hit me. I have a pile of stainless wire shelves from a old freezer laying in the scrap pile behind the barn. Just thought i would share another source that might not have been thought of.
