An item I was high bidder came today. 7 piece external socket set in 1/4" and 3/8" drive, Sears Craftsman, brand new. Delivered price was $17.50. Price in store is about $44.00 which includes tax.

Not a ton of bidding on this item as it was described as torx bit socket.

What are you going to go to school for?

Diesel tech training in Canada. Got to save upto pay for it though. Going to Montreal in April to look at colleges. Back working as a mechanic/tyre fitter at the moment, nothing too in-depth and i got pretty much all the tools i need covered, so kerbing the spending isn't too hard. :)

Good for you. I hope you will find something to your liking. From what I gather you should do well anywhere you go. Good luck:thumbup:

Thanks. :)

I've wanted to work on commercial diesels or a long time, and eventually own a company building special trucks for the oilfields, logging and work in harsh environments. (hence the username) So now it's time to save up and work towards that. The new job is nothing new, but it's good. :)

Nik - I'm guessing you'll need that ratchet to make repairs on your m1 Abrams battle tank, the ship's boilers on your privately owned missile cruiser, and your offshore oil platforms. Have fun with it. Great find by the way. :lol_hitti

Here are a few things I have gotten in the past few months... And yes they are not plomb.... I wanted a speeder ratchet set, not sure if they make a 1/2 version, so I got the speeder breaker bar and using with a ratchet adapter should be about the same if not better. But it would be nice to know if they make a 1/2 version... I think they are tslf936 and fslf936....

After you finish school and you want to see what building those trucks is all about (and the price of oil is decent) you might consider checking out Haliburtons facility in Oklahoma. Talking to them a KW chassis with a spec'd engine and transmission rolls in and they build everything in house.

Are those two speed brace ratchets the pair that were on a buy it now recently? Let use know how they are, i've wondered about them.

I'd use something like a Kenworth C500 as a base for many trucks, they're built solid from the factory! The plan is to start up the company in Canada. :)

Vintage Lectrolite Tru-Fit Offset Box Set

Last night off eBay:):

Tru-Fit was a brand name Lectrolite inherited from Milwaukee Tool & Forge after their 1932 merger... I'm not sure how long the name was used, so I will probably have to wait until the things arrive to have a better go at dating them.

There were all seperate that I bid on over time... I didn't see any that were buy it now, but I wish I did, it appears that the ratchets are pretty rare and harder to fnd than the speed handles for some reason.

Those look great Frank! Is Halford's a trusted tool name in GB (like Snappy of MAC in the US), or is it a house brand. Where are they made?

For the price, it's an excellent deal.

Halfords is a parts/spares store. Not had a great name in the past but the launch of their Pro series stuff has elevated them into a different league.
We don't have the same warranties that you guys have, but the pro stuff is guaranteed for life and thought of as a very good brand.
I'm very chuffed with them.

Just a couple of cabinets and a couple of wooden top work benches for the garage. Changed out the wheels that came with the cabinets (2 swivel, 2 rigid) to all 4 swiveling:

Browsing on Ebay in late February and came across this beauty. 40" wide, ball bearing slides. Local pick up. Retails for $500 at Sears. With a small ding in the left front and a minor scratch or two on the lid, $130. No complaints here.
