Some more..

For the toolbox. Often confused with a "No U-Turn" sign this is actually a "Tool Addiction Warning" sign. Represents "No Turning Back".

Snap-on 3/4" single ring-end wrench. Apparently for Cummins fan clutches. Will be my dedicated VW-Audi sump plug wrench.

Snap-on CJ951 Bearing Separator. 4-1/2" spread, will accept a ~7" gear or bearings. Lists for $190.50, paid $50 for it, Buy It Now. May need new bolts.

Castrol Red Rubber Grease. Rebuilding the suspension on my dads car soon, going to coat the rubber bushes with this to prevent them from drying out and cracking. It's not oil-based so it won't break down the rubber.

Castrol Moly Grease. For various applications. No, i don't have one yet..

Castrol CL Grease. Calcium-based, for use on suspension and chassis pats, leaf spring expansion shackles and such.

The drop arm puller, 2-jaw puller, hooks and grease are from here, everything else is from the US.

Do you have spare 5mm and 6mm Snap-on hex drivers?

I need a side locker. With a bit of tidying i can free up a fair bit of space in the box, but still need a side locker..

Got my latest eBay purchase today - brand new set of Snap On OXI metrics, from 10mm - 19mm, in a somewhat shopworn tray. I wish SO would make the trays a little more durable, I know I'm not the only one that likes to use them in the drawer. This one takes up less space than any wrench rack.

Its very simple..Awesome Tools!!!

I Love Snap On

Greetings

Moose,

Are those std length hex universals factory or stubbies with std bits? I've never seen a std length universal before.

Moose,

I assume they're stubbies that someone's put standard bits in. They're not listed in the cataloge, and they appear to be slightly older sockets too. I've seen a few of them for sale on eBay, so possibly someone is doing the swap and selling them on there. I've only ever seen these on eBay, and i believe the part numbers on them are the same for both the standard and stubby ones.

Breaking my own rules in my own tread.. shamelessly..

Bought them off another member, 5 pairs of new Channellocks:

Picture27.jpg

Aaaaaaand, from eBay..

Set of Bondhus stubby-end hex keys. They better be the nice silvers ones and not the normal black industrial ones or i'll be pissed i've paid over the odds.

ee_1_b.jpg

And a long 8mm Unior hex key:

DSC00370.jpg

Doing an S4 clutch soon, need a stubby 8mm for the shift linkage reaction bar, tight space between the bolt and the heatshield in the the transmission tunnel. If the stubby is too short for the reccessed bolt, i'll have to cut the Unior down to the right length. If i don't have to cut it down, spare 8mm hex key!

any idea how to clean the handles up and bring the color back? the handles are faded quite a bit.

Try a little plastic polish, like Meguiars Scratch-X. Then shoot with WD-40 after. I'm jealous, love the colour.

Since i couldn't get a fancy free Gearwrench, i bought a Gedore 1/4" bit ratchet. Wanted one for ages..

BZr51gB2kKGrHgoOKkIEjlLmVgL3BKmqfnb.jpg

Then i bought some 8mm hex bits. Again for the S4 clutch job.

80f6_1.jpg

Then while under the car today for something else, i discovered the gearbox was different. Oh well..

Used Fiat 1.2-litre 16v timing tools. For a car sitting in my drive, waiting for me to rebuild the top-end. I could do it without them, but i don't want to risk it.

Unior long 6mm hex key, for timing belt tensioners and stuff:

Unior long 7mm hex key, for brakes and holding shock absorber rods while removing the nuts:

DSC00370.jpg

And a Kent-Moore J-42188-A ball joint separator. Apprently for Corvettes. It brings my total to 8! :D

Sweet haul! I need some deadblows too..

I also need one of those remote starters, they're such a time saver. I was just thinking the other day that i needed one. That thought was probably pushed out the way in favour of a food-related thought.. hmmmm..

Needed the starter switch a few times just lately so when I saw it on ebay I made sure I got it, its quite handy if you need to flick the ignition to get the timing set up or underneath & need to start it.

Deadblows never thought I'd use or need 1 but its suprising the amout of times i've used them now.

I need one for compression tests mostly. Now i need Snap-on to invent a clutch and accelerator pedal actuator, so i can check engine mounts.. Or i just stick the camera under there and do i myself..

Need deadblows, for.... all kinds of stuff..
