That's quite a haul!

The channellock thing isn't a drill chuck, it's an adjustable socket.

thanks Moose, I found that out later yesterday as I did more research and actually found a few of them NOS on ebay... kinda cool for its era, however I do not think I see much use in the future lol

lol I can't believe you bought grinding paste & a lapper off ebay when they are so cheap at halfords etc.

Start believing. 140g tin, fine + coarse, for £4 delivered. ;)

some of us are old skool & still use the lapping stick

I'm somewhat old school, despite only leaving 5 years ago. I do wheel alignment with measuring sticks. This is a Fix It Again Tomorrow, not a Fix Or Repair Daily, i got 16 valves to grind..

I think they're pretty cool, despite not being all that useful. I bought my dad two of them because they're pretty neat. He doesn't/won't use them, but they're cool pieces to have. :)

Very cool, and a steal. I'm guessing those will be used on hydraulic cylinder nuts? (Tank nuts?)

I bought a Laser 140mm M9 Ribe driver.

SX110.jpg

I also need the VW triplesquare and M10 Poydrive headbolt drivers. May be ordered when i go down to the dealer..

You will love the Esgen stuff, the quality is top notch. Signet make some good tools, but sadly Ribe sockets aren't one of them (Waaay too brittle). Maybe i just had a bad batch. The Ribes that i have had to replace all broke undoing Fiat head bolts.

The Esgen stuff looks good, never used it before. I'll have to get you to get me some Esgen alternator pulley removal sockets some time too. :)

I have a Fiat head sitting in the garage. Got the go-ahead last night to do all the req'd work.

OK Moose... Here is my latest EBay purchase... Not a tool, but several tools will be used to install it! Extra points if you can identify the vehicle. ;)

For some reason I keep thinking a late 80's or early 90's BMW. I'm probably way off but that's my guess

The swivel head works really nice and smooth. It's only 39 tooth but still is a great ratchet.

Couldn't help it. The seller had like 10 of them, buy-it-now for $8.95 and free shipping. Officially licensed product, so it's not a counterfeit knockoff. And yes, it's made in China.

Used this multi lock a few times its quite handy as you can use it on some sohc diesels. Had 1 of these before & I got a feeling the head mechanic pinched it when I left.

Moose its handy for certain cars but I still like to use my other timing tools.

I was told by my old man many years ago that Snap On was the tools to buy & they'd last me a lifetime so might as well have the best tools for the job.

Nothing beats having the right tool for the job. I want to buy the VAG timing tools, as they make it so easy, and in some cases (TDIs, for example.) are essential.

My dad relayed a similar thing to me years ago; as Sir Henry Royce (Of Rolls-Royce fame) once said "Buy only the best, as the quality will remain long after the price has been forgotten."

Which is why i buy Norbar torque wrenches! :D

BZ0FpHwWkKGrHgoOKjYEjlLmZ5C3BKokfts.jpg

(Norbar 13264, 3/8"-drive, 8-50nm.)

For those of you that don't know, Norbar were started in the second world war, to produce extemely accurate torque wrenches. For the sole purpose of torquing down the cylinder heads on Rolls-Royce Merlin and Meteor engines, as they are gasketless. :)

Got this set of brand new elora 1/2 bits for £10 which I think was pretty cheap.

The extensions (but not the U/J) have a hole for the detent ball to sit in instead of a groove, so they only hold together well in one orientation. What would the reason be for this?
