$9.99 shovel from a local hardware store. Lightweight steel reinforced plastic blade and an ergonomically designed composite handle. It's pretty slick.

It cleared the 18 inches of snow that fell last night.

Quite common up here to have something like this around. This one is mine. No need to use it this year yet.

My 1992 Daihatsu Hijet - push button 4wd with high and low range. Usually plow snow in 2nd low or 1st high if its light stuff. I got this 5' "county plow" from my dad that had it mounted on an old Tercel SR5 4wd wagon. With weight in the back there isn't too much I haven't pushed here in Winterpeg, Manitoba.

Anyone have any luck with a dually for a plow truck? It's almost 2 miles to paved roads from my house and a blower or tractor could take a bit to clear a path.

Damn I don't miss that white stuff....I have been to Canada twice this year in the winter time and it reinforced that feeling...Here I can usually sweep the snow away with a corn broom...I did buy a aluminum scoop shovel last year....now that's some funny **** there ,

Nothing anywhere near as impressive as some of the machines in here but it gets the job done for me. It's a John Deere 318. I installed a transmission out of a 420 to gain the differential lock and 2 speed gear box. The tractor is fully hydraulic and works pretty damn good. Just need to add a few hundred pounds of more weight off the back and it will be pretty unstoppable for what it is.

I have a 7 foot winch operated plow. very heavy compared to winch operated plows on the market these days.. Had it on a 98 chevy last year

It worked ok, only ran on 7 cylinders, no first gear... bought this as a replacement, haven't gotten to use it yet this year though, it's a 1990

For garden tractor mountedsnowblowers, are they belt driven?
I'd like to modify one to out to the front of my quad and drive it with a 8-12 hp engine.

Anyone done this yet?

I gave up this year at home and got a contractor. I have my Ariens snowblower for clean up duties. Need to bring it to the lake now and them to make place for trailer etc.

Mine also but I had it for 4 years now and only used it once maybe twice....back was hurting way before the shovel came along. Lmao

Mine, too. Collapsed L5-S1 disc. I just buy lots of food in the winter. That way, I can stay inside until the snow melts. :D

That should work fine.

Put some serious weight on the flat bed, get a set of chains for the rear tires, and a wide blade (9').

Yes sir i do, been using it to clear my drive way for the last 6 years(dirt drive). My truck is a early '99 ford f350 superduty crewcab with the 7.3 diesel and the auto trans. I still have the pickup box on mine.
You can get away with an 8' blade but a 9' would be better. I run 235/85/16E all seasons on the front and 235/85/16E mud tires on the rear. I have never had to add weight to the back end to get the job done- side note i do have an evil duty rear bumper that is about 250lbs. With the 1978 western 8'blade on and me in the truck, im at 8350 for weight which is plenty with 4x4 and limited slips in both ends.
I live in the country and in the winter these are the type of roads i drive it for the most part.
