Just picked this Cornwell up on Craigslist.... $80 delivered to me. :)

Gonna set it up for a welding cart eventually.

P.S. The baby was part of a different transaction...

James

Nice score! I have a similar cart but its on the Napa brand. After you set it up as a welding cart post some pics.

Will do! First I have to get a welder... I literally bought the cart before the horse. :)

I just pickuped this matco tool cart a few months ago since the shop i move to we dont get are own bays and my big box is off to a far wall

View media item 16481

Is there anyway that someone could get the measurements for the bolt spacing on the handle for one of these boxes. I've got the yellow cornwell that looks just like this one other than the handles on the drawers. The problem is that my cornwell dealer is not reliable and i want to get a side mount shelf and was wondering if the matco one would fit with out cutting it up. Any help would be great

Grooveking, who is the maker of those black handled oil filter wrench? I saw one at HD but it's too small made by Channellock. I need something for 4bt/6bt & 7.3 IDI filters. Imagine it can be used on smaller filters?

Custom painted 350Z orange. I just put that big scratch on the front of it the other day trying to move my engine stand out of the way, the edge of the engine block caught it :(

Never mind on the measurements talked to my matco guy yesterday and he informed me that Cornwell, Matco, and napa all sell the same box with minor changes to the drawer faces to make them look alittle different.

Regarding the Cornwell and Matco Service Carts... Can anyone tell me where to get the black plastic corner bumpers that the Cornwell and Matco carts come with? They are the vertical 90 degree strips that are on each corner...

Thanks!
James

Just talk to either truck they can get them as replacement parts. Other than that you could produce them out of the mats they use in horse trailer. The stuff is durable I use it on my work bench to keep machined blocks and heads from laying directly on my steel bench top.

I added a few Mechanics Time Saves Twist lock wrench holders to the top of my Waterloo service cart. I did run a few rivets thru the top into them to ensure they do not come loose. I have rubber tread on top of my cart lid, the same stuff I have on my side cab.

Any one have a picture of the mounting system used to mount a side box like this one. I have the same side box sitting in my home garage and think thos might be a good way to put it to use. My cornwell pro is growing to small real quick. http://www.cornwelltools.com/webcat/products.php?product=CTBMM100NY-%2d-Pro-Series-Cart-Yellow
It is the box shown in the link above. Got a really good deal on it. paid 540 for it because of a small dent in the lid. Really nice unit my only complaint is really my own fault but I should have held out for the full drawer unit.

i have one at work and they do lock (top section, on the side), but one thing about how it locks is that the top has to be a bit open for the drawers to be unlocked. sometimes it can be a hassle if you have a of stuff or something large on the work surface. also, the top can slide open on its own while being pushed around the shop and that means one hand pushing the cart and one hand keeping the top closed. not a big deal, but something to think about.

Alright heres my setup. Cornwell 100 series in yellow with an old waterloo box as a side box also sporting a matco side shelf. The other box I use is more for the stuff I hardly ever use. Its just a basic Craftsman three tier starter box.

d and b, You a Sharpie sniffer at break time? Lol

I clean my resporater with alch. pads then put back into zip-lock freezer bag until needed. This will help keep bacteria down and your lungs safer & healthier.

Haha no just hate when the tip of the markers dull out and get to short to sand a new tip on. Plus costco had a pack of 50 for like 26 bucks couldnt pass it up. I work with metal all day and they wear real quick.

I like the idea about the ziplock bag. I just replace the filters once a month. the pre filters get plugged real quick and the boss pays for them.

I don't think it will work with that cart. If you are looking to sell the side box though, I'm interested

Built my own mounting system not bad just bent up some 16ga and tig welded it to the side of the waterloo. then bolted it to the cornwell box. figure it should be good for about 300lbs of tools. The waterloo box was built out of three boxes one donated the shell and the lower drawer the other two donated the uppers.

you guys just saved me a lot of money. I was going to upgrade to a bigger box due to not having space like I wanted for somethings. But then I see the magnet strips on the underside of the lids, and the drawer side boxes mounted on the carts. Im set now. Magnets will do the trick for now and a HF 7 drawer side box will have me all set a little down the road.

Next time I go over to my parents Ill take some pics of my 4 drawer bluepoint cart.

The Waterloo side cabinet came with a bracket that could be screwed to either side of the side cab, the bracket has a big lip that allows you to hang the side cab on another cabinet. In one of my previous posts I showed a close up of this bracket that I had to modify to use on this cart because of the way that cart's lid overhangs where the side cabinet. I also had to stack washers between the side cabinet and the bracket to space the side cabinet to allow for the cart's lid lip.

This thread needs to be locked down! Every picture and post gives me different ideas for which cart would be a good fit for me. My garage will be full of carts if I am not careful.

I bought that of the Matco truck, the list as a screwdriver rack but it wasn't tha great for screwdrivers. It only held the ones that had thick shanks, any with thin blades would fall off, or course these were the Matco Witte screwdrivers.

TheGrooveking

Id say its a mechanics time saver rack, i was told by my Matco dealer they get them from MTS and resell them. I bought mine from sj discount tools for 25.00. They wont hold screwdrivers worth a **** but they do a great job holding extentions and my Snap-On picks really good.
