Been looking for a storage solution for all the Tooling, Fixtures and Calibration Tool for the Faro Arm. After 2 year FBMP hunt nothing really fit the bill. Finally broke down and ordered a Tekton (Rousseau) 5 Drawer 36 inch Cabinet.

I have ordered 6 or 7 of their bigger Rolling Cabinets for the Shop and they have all held up. We ordered 16 Rousseau Cabinets a few years back to store our Press Brake Tooling. In my opinion they are holding up to the task much better than Lista they replaced.

Tekton or Rousseau get a 5 star rating from me.

The packaging was great and free delivery.

IMG_7613.JPG

The fit and finish are perfect. Even came with the Drawer Liners installed.

IMG_7614.JPG

Drawers open and close smoothly.

IMG_7615.JPG

Now back to work helping the Ford guys go faster.

My co worker bought this Masterforce 72” from Menards. So I’m going to post it. I will go to my grave defending these boxes as the best you can buy for the price. Just a shade over $1700 after taxes. Plus he will get the 11% rebate. I love the 3 wide drawers. IMG_1923.jpeg

Haven’t posted in this thread in a bit. Here’s my work setup. I call them my pumpkins 🎃 lol. I want to add a side locker so badly but work said no due to limited space and since I’m one of the guys who is unlucky and only has one bay but either way there’s no room to expand at all. But I make it work. These Us General boxes are now 4 years old in a professional environment and are doing fine. I’ll show pictures inside tomorrow for updates. IMG_9021.jpegIMG_1524.jpeg

I feel your pain. I’m also space restricted and my work has restrictions on how big of a toolbox you can have. It mostly ***** because of how creative you need to be with storage solutions and organization.

Been putting this set up together the last few months. I was after the 620 because I liked how “simple” it was. Then I found a good deal on a MC28 while hunting for a MC22…. Well, then it needed to come home too. Sitting in my basement shop, think it’s gonna hold tooling.

First set of pictures. I’m very organized inside my box lol. Any tool out of place I’ll find and it won’t be good lol. The black Snap-on blow molded case is the master snap ring plier set I bought like 4 years ago. It’s in Power Blue the best Snap-on color besides Pearl Blue and teal. The long red case is a bushing driver set that a former mechanic gave me. The small blow molded case is a CV Axle spindle rethreader kit. It’s saved the day plenty of times. More pictures to follow. I’m a 6 year technician, 3 with Toyota my current job, 1 year with Subaru at this same dealership, 2 years in the independent world. Also show my team spirit too lol. Go Padres! Untitled.png

Blake you mentioned needing more tool box - I disagree - you need better organization and maybe go multi layer on some of those deep drawers.
Better organization? I’ve got the best organization in the shop lol. The only thing I can do multi layer on is blow molded cases anything else I’d go crazy. I want a side locker for the cases though I hate them being in a drawers or outside my box.

I didn't say it wasn't organized Blake; I said it needs better organization. from a simple square inches of "floor space" perspective, you are running out of space, but most of the drawers are too deep for the current use, and the cubic inches are mostly wasted.

A few examples:

Laying wrenches flat like this wastes space, especially in a deep drawer - either get another rack or if you have 2 sets of SAE or Metric get them stacked on pins; at least 2 deep. (I always have 2 sets of combos so I had a wrench for both the nut and bolt)

Same here:

1751428292130.png

The vertical pliers racks are good, but you need more of them:

1751428181634.png

If these are actually useful, get them organized. Maybe a set of trays hung off the back of a box?

1751427998146.png

Is this drawer deep enough for the smaller blow molds to go on edge? If so "rack" them like that, and label as needed.

That first picture is definitely and optical illusion using the fork lift. It looks like a 40 something inch wide bottom box.

If you remove the side box and put the locker on the left, and then put the side box on the right of the big box with a fold up side tray and set the computer monitor on that, you wouldn't really be taking up any more space
Unfortunately due to company policy it has to be on their provided stand. I hate that stand it’s so wobbly. I’d definitely do this idea though if it didn’t have to be on the stand.

Is it still made by Montezuma? Either way…
I’m about to drive 1.5 hours to the closest Menards and pick this up. Then use the rebate on a smaller top box or side locker. The use the rebate on…

I love how worn the floor is where you walk back and forth from the lift to your boxes. Tells a story.

I can neither confirm nor deny that the new boxes are made by Quality Craft. This one doesn’t have the sticker in the top drawer like my old one did. I haven’t looked at any of the other drawers.

I reorganized my screwdriver drawer. I replaced the Fuller screwdrivers with better quality Task ones. The Fullers will go in the house tool bag. Moved the Ernest bit buddy holder to my hex key drawer to make room for #1,2,3 pozi drive screwdrivers.
20250716_161414.jpg

Had to start another drawer for metric wrenches as I didn't have enough room for the ratcheting stubby and xl double boxend in the other one. Figured I'd also put my Mac ones in here as well.

Only a cheap Chinese tool chest, (they don't even have ball bearing slides) but they're fine for my amateur/bodger status.

I'm showing the outside to show what can happen if you put a heater a little too close to your toolbox...IMG-20250602-WA0000.jpeg

I just upgraded my box last week. My craftsman box was literally falling apart from the weight of my tools. I got a little discount on the upgrade and I love it, no regrets.

My tool box for the last ten or so years has been the first generation US General 56” box as seen here:

Great box, but it was showing it’s age after a decade. I was going to get the 72” third generation US General box, however I was offered a trade. My old 218k mile Forester I was selling for a SnapOn box. Well, it was an easy decision. 😂 I didn’t gain or lose space, but got a much better layout and a much much nicer box than the HF one. It’s a KCP1422 in Arctic Silver with blue trim.

6A6CA587-158E-4279-B377-420E051395AF.jpeg

A (nearly) one year update. Added a stainless steel top, a blue lock cover and vinyl carbon fiber wrap to the drawer edges. The SS top is such a nice work surface compared to the work mat I was using. The rest of the additions are purely cosmetic, but give the box a nice little extra. Very happy with this box.

Well it was only about $80 more expensive to have it delivered than me renting a box truck with a lift gate, paying for the miles and gasoline. So I opted for delivery, which saved me 3 hours of driving.
