haha my box belongs in sanford and son , I was doing side jobs on the side of the road yesterday , using the curb as a seat

So I finally upgraded, after almost 4 years of working out of the box I got out of grandpa's garage. It stood up good all these years, but it was just stuffed.
Used Matco MB7525, got it for $1500. Pretty decent shape, a few nicks and scratches here and there, but nothing deep, and compared to what I'd seen on craigslist around here for the past few months not a bad deal. Plus I always wanted a black-on-black Matco anyways. All the drawers slid good except the bottom two, but I took them out, cleaned and lubed them up, and now they're working fine.

And the box it replaced, a 1978 Craftsman that I'm never getting rid of (after all, one day when I have a house it'll make a good home box)

I was just about dead-set to pull the trigger on a Montezuma box, but for one, they don't make a 24" deep double-bay, only triple bay, which is a little much for me, plus they were on backorder until June in black, and even further, It's really hard for me to spend that much without being able to handle one in person.
It's so nice to have this big box, room to spare for more tools and a huge surface area for parts/paperwork/tools/whatever!
yepSpidergearsman, Do you have a link to your toolbox pics? Searching through this many pages could take days![]()
Man, I just love those blacked-out Matco boxes people have been putting up.
Here's my collection of craigslist Kennedy kits.

very nice boxes! the top box is pretty cool! love the tool carts. we have the same on on the left at my work
just update the pictures as i had brought a my matco MSC12 to home and bought a menards masterforce 36" bottom full wide box to work today...
i need to contact the masterforce box company to order the extra slides to put on because i had to pull bottom drawer out to use slides to double on top drawer... i has too much on first drawer but that my daily use tools...
i did swap the top two narrow drawers for deep drawer from bottom.. that why it look little odd.. BUT that work for me!!!
A few of my tool boxes. A few dollars worth of Kennedy's, all bought new and now keyed alike.

The map file works great for how I use it. I mostly have small parts in there, not too well organized. I have one drawer with some of my larger measuring tools in it.Harvey Melvin Richards...
I'm curious how well the old map cabinet works for tool storage.
I have, occasionally, seen map cabinets at local auctions. But the drawers have always been very shallow (~ an inch or less). The drawers on yours looked deeper than the ones I've seen locally.
Any pics in use?
Nice setup BTW !
Thanks,
Rob
I guess its ok to ask this question here... sorry if it's not. How many of you guys with Snap on KRL triple banks can fill a top and bottom with tools? I don't care what type of tools they are.... as long as its "tool related" Im ok with it in the box. I've seen a lot of guys with b.s. stuff in their box and complain about lack of room. I'm a big snap on tool ***** and went from a classic 78 (top and bottom) to KRL triple bank (top and bottom). I don't think I'll ever fill my KRL. Why did I go from such a big jump in size of boxes?? Tool boxes are a pain to sell. I'm having a royal PITA time selling my Classic 78. I figured let me just go for broke and get one of the biggest tool boxes there is. I got a screaming deal on the top piece and Skyline sold me the bottom piece for another great deal.

Edit: you can see pics of my stuff on page 167/168/209.
