Thanks!

It was created for the jcb teletrucks, to make hydraulic and engine work easier as its at a better level to work at instead of bending over, plus it makes it easier to get under them if its ever needed.

I like the wood top best. Did he put a smaller channel into it like what you would see around a cutting board, to keep things from drifting off? Saw that on a cabinet maker's mechanical box and thought that it was a good idea

Hi adam, he offered, but i plan on putting somethig like perspex or hardboard on the top to protect it as long as i can, the biggest problem is oily hand prints sinking into it!

Thanks

if not thats a hell of a wife you have...

She "let" me buy it I guess you can say. And yes, she's one hell of a lady! It's taken me over 6 years to finish and three different snapon dealers, but now I can say it is finished!

Here are a few of my new one, the bad news is, it has some damage on it:dunno::dunno:, the good news is, it was FREE:shocking::shocking: That's right, FREE. Shannon at Strictlytoolboxes.com, threw it in with our order:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup: What a guy:beer:. 56" Montezuma base, I bought an additional one, an a 56" 21 drawer combo for my son. Truck should be here next week!

Now I need to sell my old ones to make room;

^^^^ porta power would fix that right up!

THAT's what I said! And I just happen to have one of those! Shannon said he pushed 80% of the damage back out, with the palm of his hand, after he took the pics. He was most concerned about the broken powder coating. I said "SEND IT!"

I'm only posting pics to motivate me to clean up my stuff. I have thrown my tools in to my box and work table is grossly consumed with just junk... I am taking this weekend to clean the garage and hopefully will post more pics later of an improved garage. The first box is the original steeltek stainless box from Sams from YEARS ago. It went through numerous changes after the orignal, each worse than the previous.. For theprice, it's a very solid, good looking box! The work table is also from Sam's. I have it just filled with **** as well.

My latest aquisition...
52" Husky. Not the most glorious in the world, but it was less than 300, and has what I need. I like the full top drawer.
I also got these, a 26" 3 drawer Craftsman with a 20" 3 drawer on top and a 5drawer Rubbermaid cart posted in another thread, but this IS the "Show us your toolbox", right?...

I got the Harbor freight tool cart first and then when it got filled up I bought the orange mac tools box from a co-worker, then when it filled up I bought the purple mac box, and you can see how the mac guy stands behind well seats in his product. He said it would hold the weight and I wanted proof, I could move the draw with my pinkie with him in it so I was sold. I got it half off because it was a repo. Use the orange one for my woodworking and electrical and plumbing tools. I found the red matco on craigslist asking$1100 and I paid $800. The orange mac and the red matco are my home boxes. I'll upload pics of whats in them later when I have time to take some.

Frank13, I couldn't locate a model #, just a SKU 966-340. The guy at the store said it was a "Black Friday" special. I had to go to 3 different HD's to get it. It's not as heavy duty as My 52" Husky top box (which was made by Watreloo), but it will fill my needs for the next couple years.

Hello, I have been lurking for some time and finally decided to introduce myself. I’m 19 and in college to become a mechanical engineer. Tools and cars have always been a part of my life. My grandpa got me started with a small three drawer Craftsman at about age 8. It all went downhill from there. When I was 15, I bought my first full-sized toolbox. It was a three piece entry level Craftsman box that I later sold to my brother. About two years ago, both my dad and I really started getting into collecting and using new and different hand tools. He decided to upgrade his box. A bit later, I decided it was time to get a bigger box also, by this time mine was almost full. The Craftsman double wide top and bottom combo was on sale for $1000 so I bit the bullet and bought it. I keep it in my bedroom with my favorite tools and use the bottom drawers as a dresser. My other grandpa passed away and left me the New Britain top box and told me before he died that my brother and I could take whatever tools we wanted from his collection. Just recently, I purchased the five drawer tool cart because I had been wanting one. I didn’t have a good reason to get it, but I couldn't resist.

The two small boxes are both crammed with doubles, extras and other tools that don’t fit in my main box. I own a wide variety of tool manufactures, but enjoy using USA tools the most. I have acquired my tools various ways, many from my grandpas, gifts, swap meets, ebay, and yard sales. Everything I own outright.

Thanks blue dog. I bought the Proto and Plomb from a wife of a deceased machinist. When there is no place in the garage the bed room is the only other option for a toolbox.

Picked up one of my US General boxes today. Felt kinda flimsy and light but I think it will be able to hold my bigger wrenches that I have without bending too much. Has a nice handle and everything and only cost me $349!
