Thanks 98TJ. It has held up well all these years. I'm just a weekend mechanic, but the time to set it up was definitely worth it.

(EDIT: And Thanks Ken81590. Sorry, I missed your comment the first time through)

Don't think I ever posted this:

Toolbox-Drawer-2.jpg

All made out of foam. I never got around to do the metric drawer but since I mostly need metric now, those are mostly in my small cart and another box closer to the "bay" (home mech...)

Here's a shot of another drawer:

The aluminum holders are custom:

Thanks! Not looking quite that way anymore since I did some re-shuffling and have my most used stuff in a Hazet Assistent which I keep close by. I'll see if I can dig up a pic...

[Edit: can't find a pic ATM, will take a couple tonight if I manage to remember]

This is the only photo I have of it but at home I have the 42" US General box and I put a butcher block top on it. I kept looking in Craig's List for a cheap source of butcher block and one day I found it. A young fella was moving back home after that year of college and he had an IKEA kitchen table which was butcher block. He was asking $10 for it so I picked it up. It was large enough that I could cut out the correct size top in one piece. Plus I had some nice pieces of wood left over for other projects. Then I sealed it with Verathane and sanded it smooth. It turned out pretty nice for $10

Wish I had a better photo for you but this will have to do.

Ken & Monte: Thank you! I'm afraid not all my drawers look like that... ;)
Too many boxes, too much stuff, too little time for organizing...

I'll take some pics over the weekend, though.

Ken, Zuspiel, Those are nice looking box's and art work on the holders of both!

Ken, in a drawer you have a can bank for change? cancer stick money? You mind if I use the Christmas light holder idea?
I may use a few ideas, it saves from buying MTS mag rails.

nice work 98TJ, I've been eyeballing the kobalt file set. I'm assuming that since you custom built the holder for them you like them. Would you recommend them?

I haven't needed them a lot, but for the times I've used them, they've served me well.

Haha well the thing about that, in my cart, if you noticed all the way to the left I have a ton of batteries, I bought a big spot light, and that change thing came with it (It looks like a giant battery) with all the batteries in it, so I figured I could use that with the box. I figured, everyday I come home from work and go straight to the garage, I could empty my change into there, maybe by the end of the year it might be enough to get another cool tool purchase. But the sad part is, it may end up being used for cancer sticks  lol.

And I think you saw the christmas light holders used the guy's box above me, mine are matco, which do look like christmas light holders though haha

vdt1977- thanks for posting more pics of your toolbox. The way that hutch closes is pretty cool. I see you have a cordless 1/4 ratchet in your toolbox. I think I saw that one at Home Depot. How do you like it?

I upgraded from my 26" Craftsman Griplatch set to the 40" set. Finally got all 3 pieces. 40" Craftsman Griplatch chest set. Paid $450.00 for the bottom roller, $150.00 for the middle full width drawer and $250.00 for the top box. I'm watching the prices on the side cabinets to add on later.

Did you buy all the pieces new fromSears? If so those are pretty good prices.

Yes I purchased them all new from Sears. I checked the prices daily and when I saw them at their lowest point I put them on layaway just to lock in that price as they usually weren't in stock at my local store. Also applied coupons to the orders, generally took care of sales tax. I got the bottom roller over 2 months ago, middle box last week and finally got the top box Monday.

what the hell are the things to the left of the cut off wheel and the thing that says "king" on it??? :dunno:

The bottle with king is just some air tool oil that came with a air dryer. The other things are called gladhands they connect tractor air lines to the trailer. Those have fittings so I can hook shop air to a trailer and the others are plugged so you can check for leaks on the tractor.

Thanks!

I did this with some of my tools, but I need to finish up and do the rest.

Glad to know I'm not the only nut that spends too much time on stuff like this! :D

Yours look great! (cleaner execution than mine, for sure!)

 Thank you! But seriously, I'm not. I can make many things with a dremel, an angle grinder, and a drill press. It all works but not much of it is pretty... ;)

Zus, that 1/4" Hex C'man set you made the rack for. I see two flex extensions, is one of them 3/8" or a square drive for 1/4" sockets?
I will need to build something for my Snappy rat skiggledriver and may adapt some of your config.
Keep up the good work!
