MR Ratchet,

you've got a good eye counting the drawers :) In the last big one is my fluke 189 with the amp meter clamp inside the Fluke C100 Case. The last small drawer is awaiting the next order ;)

Yes, all metric as I only work on German cars.

Thanks everyone for the nice comments.

This was part of my last order but was sold to a friend. I might have to get another one soon, they are just too handy these Assistent 166C and lovely on top of that

Great box, BMWGarage!

And, yes, those Assistent carts are very useful. I have the smaller one and it's always beside me in the garage.

Ever used those tools???

Looks fine, but I don't like that set...some drawers wasting space (pliers) no impacts, bad set of extensions....serious...Hazet makes great tools, but as a pro set (so does Hazet promote it) there is to much missing. I know that this BMW set is not used my BMW USA (SC) and that they would forbide it.

Anyway, that is not your fout and welcome to the board.

I have the feeling you are upset about someone or something Hawk321.

Ever used these tools ?
Yes. A lot considering it was delivered to me less than 1 week ago. Why ?

You know, I never said it was perfect, You work with impact, not me. It ruin the finish on the bolts and remove the coating. If you restore or keep an old vintage car, you do by hand, it's a hobby. You know, you relax, you put music, you invite friends over and you have fun. Having compressor and impact in the background is not what I consider fun.

When is the last time you walked in the BMW training centre ? me, 15 min ago. Only 6 of them, identical to mine are present in the training facility in Laval. It seems ok for them as well. After of 2 years of student abuse, it still look like new.

May be imperfect to you, fine and I am ok with it, but to work on BMW and for me, it's fine. This is why there are so many tools out there, to please everyone.

Have a good one

That is a beautifull set BMWGarage. With that set you can pretty much do anything!
Is there any particular reason you went with Hazet? Instead of Stahlwille, or Gedore?

What do you do if you buy more tools? I'm too OCD and that wouldn't work for me if I had other tools sitting in another box. That is an awesome box but I would never consider it unless I was 100% content with what was in there.

Damn BMWgarage .... Great setup you have there! Those foam inserts do take up a lot of space but it's easy to tell if you've left a tool under the hood of a car before the customer/friend drives off and loses it for you! I have a couple in my assistent and so far they've saved me a 10 mm wrench and a 12 mm socket!

Thanks Jastech !
But if I had to do the floor again, I would do it different colors

I used Race-Deck and happy with the service, they replaced the tiles that changed color but still, the white are difficult to keep clean. If I come back from a ride and the tires are real hot, they transfer their color to the floor. After couple of months they start to look bad. Now after replacing the stained ones, I will try to cover them with transparent film so there is no more marking.

Race-deck were more than happy, thanks to them, to replace the tiles that were stained and shipped replacement parts for free. I am so far happy but knowing their tendency to mark I would go a different route, maybe grey and black instead. But white floor is just soooo nice :)

Here is a picture of the complete garage and the floor after 9 years of abuse.

Thanks my friend, hope you are enjoying the R.2AM ;)

I love the foam system, it saved me also a lot. 2 second check and you know if you had one beer too much ;)

Thanks, I have this flag since 2009 from le mans 24 hours, was given to me by a nice lady, can't discard ;)

I don't know if I am allowed to post such nice pictures here :D

@ scubasteve33

I am too an OCD, it takes one to recognize an other ;) Easy answer, I would simply but the top module with 4 drawers that goes on top of the actual unit. If you fill all these drawers, you are pretty much, in my opinion, set. This is what I am planning to do too.

@Dillithium. I went with Hazet for many reasons. I travelled quite a lot to germany, I tested and tried them all. And I just loved the overall selection. Gedore and Stahlwille are also superb tools. The fact that Hazet provide tools for Audi, BMW , Porsche and VW helped made a decision. Hazet supply most of all the timing tools and special tools for these manufacturer. I was used to the brand already.

@archirelic
Thanks, my type typical type of answers, you will se as I will start to post more ;) I just do

Like I said if that's exactly what you need then it's perfect. I am very organized with my tools but nothing on that level. Wish I could get something that neat but the second I bought another tool I would lose it haha.

ScubaSteve

I have a partial solution, all the not so useful tool all goes in the Facom tool trolley. It's a bit messier but to an acceptable level. Seriously, to do what I do on BMW, it has everything + a lot on the side door which you can add 2 side doors + top chest. 'More than enough to be rally organized :)

Other than that, scotch keep me quiet when I am about to loose it :)

Cheers

Ah okay, I can relate to the want to have everything from one brand and if Hazet supplies for specific car brands and they feel good, might as well go for it.

It looks real nice. However if the white tiles are getting marks on them how about changing the pattern so that you have two black runners where the tires will be?

Just an idea...

Bad *** tool box!!!! I love the foam and if it works for you then right on. Haters can kiss my ***.

I don't think the person commenting is a hater, maybe i'm wrong

just because you have a different preference doesn't make you a hater

has it come to the point that unless you rah rah rah someone you can't make comments??? sheesh

my thoughts when i saw this was wow.... sweet looking box... definitly so european looking etc... looks like it came right out of the catalogue... i'm sure the owner is stoked.

but i also thought.... **** as cool as that is... it sure is a lot of wasted space... especially coming from europeans... you just expect they try to cram 10lbs of **** in a 5lb bag... you know... the ikea way

so that was one of my first reactions... very nice... very cool... but damn... what a waste of space.... does that make me a hater??? i sure hope not

I am a hater. That is a NICE :shocking:NICE:shocking:NICE Toolbox and tools. Just wondering how many years do I need to work for buy something like that. If you own a BMW, you have to get HAZET tools, no doubt. Snap on tools are nice but this is something without any comparability. Congrats!

I was given my first tools by my father, I plan on doing the same. My child will get my tools when I am too old to use them. I still have tools from my grandpa that I use from time to time :)

I agree with your option. It is a nice idea of having 2 runners in black. I will have to try different pattern options not to break the black and white pattern too badly so it look good.

I will let you know when I try it.

Hawk's post came off very sarcastic, and *******-ish. Opening with "Ever used those tools???" Kinda sets a tone...

Although, I don't know how BMW lives without a impact... :dunno: Around these parts some hardware won't come off without one. The use of a impact is sometimes the only thing keeping a bolt from sheering off. Heck, I use a breaker bar on exhaust bolts I WANT to simply sheer the head off for quicker break down...

I agree as sometimes, an impact is necessary, but on the car I work, I will not re-use a rusted nut, I will simply tight it or loose it till it die. As this is a hobby, I usually spray rost-off and wait for some time. I have no rush, I have time to spare. Then we sit down talk while the rust-off does it's job ;)

I even not use an impact on wheel bolts, just not to remove the coating on the nuts. OCD, I know .

I know what you mean. :) I mostly use hand tools on my motorcycle for this reason. There are times though when a old bolt should simply be handled with power. Like on exhaust manifold bolts with age. Isn't a issue of reuse, but the possibility of damaging the head if a bolt sheers off.

I thought this was a let’s see your toolbox thread, not a show us what you have so some can make foolish comments about the tools you have or don’t have. Not everyone here has the same likes or needs. That’s what makes this thread so cool in the first place.

Since we have not seen anything new for a few posts now, maybe you can post all your drawer shots. I don’t recall seeing them here.

Come on guys...just posted my opinion about the Hazet Set...which I don't like >>>Torque Adapter in the 2nd drawer without the torque wrench!,...for me, everything has to be in one place...the private workplace from BMWgarage is great!!! Specially that wall mountet Facom cab.

And I'm not a hater...still on the tool side not the dark side!

If you live in the USA...I mean (not 100% sure) that Snapon makes the special tools...they have a special site just for that (in case of VAG).

If you like those foam inserts, try a look at ToolBed...there you can made your own foam.

Updated wrench drawer picture. Moved a bunch around to make room for the new stuff. Don't think I'll be putting anything else in this one.
