when i had to move back to an apartment, my welder slept next to my bed. the wife knew not to say anything because my dad bought it for me when i graduated high school and he had passed away a few years prior. i would stick her in the shed first.

Hi all, I am not sure if there is a thread specifically for asking if tool postings are good deals or not, but I had a question and would love a opinion. i have never had to worry about buying my own tools before, Ive always just used my Dads but with my Dad and I starting our own restorations and fabrication company my Dad insisted i get my own tools, he gave me a $3000 budget and sent me on my way and i know 3k is childs play for most peoples tools, but so far I have made it work, mostly so far I have craftsman and tekton tools with a handful of JH Williams but i still do not know if I am getting killer deals or average prices, etc. but I came across a post on CL today and was wondering if its a good price or not. If a toolaniac can take a look and lemme know, that would be cool, with my budget being fairly low i want to make sure i can get as much as I can within budget. also like mentioned in my post above, I have a HF 44" box right now, but I seen this today and wasnt sure if it was worth thinking about. lansing.craigslist.org/tls/3962638422.html

I'm not sure if it's a scam but it's looks similar to an ad in Houston for that same box. The seller sent me a link to order with free shipping or something but it took him a week to reply and by then I had already bought the HF box which I am happy with.

Thanks for the heads up, the tool box actually does look like its linked to a large nationwide scam. The site it was for sale on was overstocksummersale.com and it looked legit and seemed to be a BBB A+ rating, but al looks to be a sham, they require you to pay with GreenDot MoneyPaks ONLY lol which threw the first red flag for me, so i dug deeper and seems they are all linked just like 20+ different URLs. Which is a bummer too, it was a nice box lol.

Finally opened a photo bucket account so I can share some pics with you guys. Left is my old cart Mountain brand 6 drawer service cart. Traded that in on the green snap on krsc416, the one on the right, and my krl 722 in the middle with a c-man top box.

it's a 1972 240z been garaged it's whole life. it's not actually mine! Dx me and the mechanic i live with are taking care of it for a friend.. i would really love the car though! in beautiful condition.. and also thank you for the welcome! i needed a place to interact with other gear heads like myself!

how do you like that napa cart? it looked like the HF 4 drawer with better hardware and handles when i checked it out the other day.

and what about your homak stack? ive been thinking about them too but i cant get my hands on one to try it out before i buy. no one around me carries it.

I walked around one of those napa carts and they look BEEF. Very impressed considering there not really into quality tool storage

I cant complain at all the napa cart was free and the homak box was under $300 brand new from costco. For a review goes on the homak for the money it is great, smooth drawer slides wheels around nice my only complaint is it is just too small for my needs now but it will make a great home.

Finally got around to taking some pictures of the box for GJ. Some more things to come that are owed and a few more things I want, but I am happy for now. I had a lot more sockets, 3/8 and 1/2 shallow and deep, 6 and 12 point but found I was never using them all. Sold em and got into the SO set. If I need 1/2 I just use my impacts. Same with universals, torx, hex, and a bunch of other stuff that I hardly used. It was mostly Mastercraft, SK, Proto, Grey and others. Working on replacing the stuff I use alot with higher quality. Gonna be trading my red mini pick set for a green one next time I see my dealer, Any questions just ask. Need a bigger box already, looking for a top cab but I think something deeper and wide would make me happier.

A really bad abbreviation for engine ANALyzer? Maybe it used to belong to a dude named ALAN, and someone pranked the previous owner?

I know, I once did a chart and blithely used the abbreviation "****." for analysis. Took a while for the folks to get over that, but at least they were paying attention to the presentation for 5 minutes.

First pic 54" Blackhawk was my first "real" box. It now belongs to my dad as a gift for me taking up most of his shop space for a number of years until I was able to build my own. Second is a SO roll cab that I used as a mobile work bench, the top drawer holds 90% of my "go to" in a hurry stuff. The third is a 7022 roll cab and top chest that I picked up early this spring for $5,700 bucks. It was covered with grease and diesel soot but it cleaned up nice. Next pic is a cheap Sunnex cart that holds all my air sanding and buffing supplies, its laid out quite well for it. The last is the cart that stays in my office at work and holds all the higher end tools and parts that I don't want growing legs and wandering away.
