I'll get a few draw pics later on. So far I like the epic, the draw latches feel sturdier than the slide locks on my krl.

I feel that way about toolbox work surfaces and hutches. You can make a way better setup for a lot cheaper of a price and Taylor it to how you want

+2 on that they want insane prices for those hutches. I will build my own design it how I want it and pocket the excess money in my wallet.

Long time lurker here but decided I would join the party. So many terrific set ups and collections from pro to the house garage. Good to see so many take such pride in their equipment and what they do. This is my setup at work. I am a shop manager for a large multi bay repair facility and spent many years in the GM Dealership. Almost 30 years now wrenching everyday. I am in the process of building a custom hutch for the top of my box. I will post more when I finish the hutch. Doing my best to make it match and not look thrown together.

Added some drawer pics for the work set-up. Cell phone pics so not too good. Already getting dark here. Will try to do some better ones at another time. Everyone always ask for them.

Again continued.... My side locker consist of my scanner and more test equipment in cases. My cart is what I load and unload each day to roll around here at shop. I also have a so called "junk drawer" and my electrical parts drawer in it as well. Really enjoy the forum and glad to be a part of it officially now.

Sweet just found my next project. I would rather make my own than pay what they want for one.

All of you guys and your big beautiful Snap On & Matco boxes and hutches made me want to get one but I couldn't ever find one in my area at a price point I could fit within my tool budget. So, I did the next best thing I could manage which was to build one of my own as part of a workbench build. It's not in the same caliber as a Snap On hutch but it is functional.

Hutch17.jpg

I thought about making it mobile and adding a locking hutch door which could be easily done but since it sits in my garage I decided to go with the bigger height and more slat wall storage.

If your really, really, bored and want to kill a few minutes I made a little video that goes into more detail.

I regret selling a Snap On box I had when I first got married but it helped to buy me my first professional cabinet saw and jointer and my wife was much happier with that trade. Happy wife...happy life. :)

So for now, I live vicariously through all of you guys and these great tool boxes.

Very nice. I am orange with envy. Love the color. It is hard to understand the scale of the Epic boxes unless there is something else in the pic for scale.

Yea, at first I didn't think the epic was that much taller/bigger. Obviously it is a bigger box but until I saw my 7022 right next to it I didn't realize.
Now I have to get rid of the 7022, even though I really like it, the wife just doesn't understand.

Are those double end ratcheting wrenches with a ratcheting flex end and non ratcheting standard box end? What brand? I've been looking for a set like those.

The epic fits what I have perfectly. Now I need more tools to fill it up.

I feel stupid for having to ask this but does anyone have tips/tricks to getting stuck drawer pull covers off without damaging them? It's a Matco box and I would like to get the covers powder coated
I've tried a few dead blows of different sizes with no luck and I really don't want to mess up the drawers.

Epiq 68 vs Triple bay Master series.

These things are massive. I love that orange. My 2nd choice after green. Beautiful box you have. I as well upgraded from a 7022 to a epiq 68.

Here are the drawer shots after moving everything over from my HF44. I still have 3 empty drawers and plenty of room in the occupied drawers. It's nice to be in a box with room to grow again. I am not a mechanic, I do body and paint in a collision repair facility.

Very nice. One question, though. Since the box slides in from the back, how would you go about putting the entire contraption against a wall? Would you put the box in place, then, slide in the rest around the toolbox? Isn't the HF box sitting on the tube frame?

Correct, the box slides in place from the back and is held in place with what I call a jam lock which is a piece of small tube bolted in place between the 2" tubing where the handle would normally go to the box. It has 8 adjustable leveling pads so you can slide it up against the wall or as I was originally going to do use it as a room divider so I finished out the back.

That is a brake spring compressor for old style drum brakes. It is used to compress the spring on each side of the shoe which holds it to the backing plate.
