About 2 weeks ago, I finally scored what I thought was a good deal on a pair of KRL boxes. I was almost sold on 2 different KRA series boxes that were the same 54x24 size and then this setup came along. It was more than I wanted to spend, but it seems these KRL series are also quite a bit "more" box. I'm just a home user, but I really like the strength and longevity this thing offers. And, the color was perfect for me.

I moved out of that red, Extreme Tools box where everything was squeezed in...now I've got 3 empty drawers and 2 that could be if needed. Plenty of room for growth!

Excellent! I have been thinking about what a downsized box would look like for later in life when I don't wrench as much, don't get in my big box as much, or move to a townhouse....but want full capability if needed. Nicely done!

Very nice setup, my compliments! I like how you kept it simple to meet your needs.

Thanks! I could use a couple more things, and there's a few things not in the box like my 3ft long Snap On breaker bar. And some of my tools I keep in my van.

Excellent! I have been thinking about what a downsized box would look like for later in life when I don't wrench as much, don't get in my big box as much, or move to a townhouse....but want full capability if needed. Nicely done!

I had a 42" HF box before this one. Believe it or not, because of the drawer depth and not being broke up into smaller drawers, I have more room in this box. And this one is more portable.

I really have everything I need in one place. And the Snap On box is soooo smooth lol.

My krl7012 arrived in cranberry, got it mounted up and filled with the hour. Now I have some room opened up for some future purchases and I’m going to convert the deepest left drawer into a power tool drawer.

Nice. I have the exact same setup only in traditional Snap-on red. I also have my locker mounted on the other side but I've had it for about twelve years or so now and love it.

Thanks, I’ve seen yours on here when I was looking for more info and layouts of the locker before I ordered mine. The cranberry is my favorite, but I hear they discontinued it so it’s special order

I’ve read people have looked up part numbers from the snapon site. They don’t list pricing or allow you to order offline, but I plan on asking my dealer for the parts to hold the cordless/ impact guns in the larger drawer

I've never seen it done on a KRA but doesn't mean it couldn't be made to work.

I've ordered the kit for my KRL 10" drawer from my Snap-on guy and it's so far been on back order for the last 4 weeks.

The kit I ordered is actually intended to go in the 12" deep drawer on the lower left of a KRL1163 but several other people have put it in 10" deep KRL drawers or 10" deep Epiq drawers. You can find the part number on the Snap-on site by looking up KRL1163 and then clicking on "repair parts".

This is a pic I saved at some point from another GJ members post.28b78906628ec685c6948c12c86a2689.jpg

This video shows the conversion and includes part numbers in an attached file. This should fit 30" depth KRL and Epic. Full conversion, with cutting and power in as if it came from Snappy.

You would need to confirm that the KRA Power Drawer is available in your depth, and figure out the part numbers, but assuming you have a drawer of the correct size, it should be possible.

Got my new toolbox (Snap on KCP 2422) this week and started moving everything over. So far I have the bottom right three drawers empty whereas the old box was packed. Top drawer in the old box was sagging like crazy and got stuck half through opening. So it was time for an upgrade.

Insane how much more tank like this is built in comparison to the husky and even a few of the others in shop. 8b6dc3a2d29406d87ddd509baeedefb4.jpg1828adcc370bf28aa0712de0a17eb03e.jpg810eee76d70a1bed74e9d8a356585b47.jpgbc5f19ccc02bc134c5cc7dd94a84d799.jpge23ed485e862c478cf7441d4f72e1a49.jpge7f9c57cd2d54f60adf25376b0fc34ea.jpgdede9cd6bed9445e1b55147247d35e94.jpg

I also support Inflammatory Bowel Disease awareness and the Crohns & Colitis foundation who’s color is purple. So it was pretty rad to find a purple box having never seen one before.

About 2 weeks ago, I finally scored what I thought was a good deal on a pair of KRL boxes.

The little picture got lost in the shuffle it seems! Nice Boxes, mind sharing how much you had to give for them? Top two reasons I like this thread is seeing how people lay out their boxes and as a barometer for used Snap-On prices in particular.

Got my new toolbox (Snap on KCP 2422) this week and started moving everything over. So far I have the bottom right three drawers empty whereas the old box was packed. Top drawer in the old box was sagging like crazy and got stuck half through opening. So it was time for an upgrade.

It does sound like an upgrade was necessary! The color is awesome, I'm a Kansas State fan- also a traditionalist so my toolbox will always be red. What tap and die set do you have?

It’s an old school USA craftsman set. If I had to guess from the late 90’s. I’ll see if I can find the lid for it with the part number. It’s a pretty good set but my largest metric tap is a m12x1.75.

Sweet box. Do you work on euro bikes or euro cars? Guessing from the motul drums and jugs in the back.

My bike shop repair area is a mix of box and bench but I've developed a nice setup that still needs a few tweaks. The repair stand needs a much more solid base though I'm not certain where to get one at the moment and haven't had the time to look, the factory one is around 250 with shipping which is ridiculous for a piece of plate steel painted black.
Really need a better way to store the wrenches and have to add a few more duplicates. But overall a satisfying setup that works well. At last count I maintain a fleet of 25 or 26 bikes so doing my own wrenching is a money saver.

Well this is my main box, I got it used off the SnapOn dude who later vanished into thin air. Not pictured are my old Craftsman box, my dad's or my Kennedy chests or my dad's workbench, or my old dresser which is now filled with saws, sanding & painting supplies.

It replaced my little Craftsman chest my parents bought me when I got my first mechanic job which later got my dad's old Kennedy chest on top. The small Cman became my spare parts bin but my dad fit a plywood top on it and used it for his tools for some time, now they're mine and I've been going through them all and sorting. The top of the professional box was always my random stash, from my gloves and kevlar heat sleeves to my specific gravity testers and my first real drill set. Then I have a screwdriver drawer, an electrical drawer, 2 socket & ratchet drawers, an air tool drawer etc etc. In the picture you can see up top I've located and sorted a number of other drill bits and filled numerous indexes, a rather largish auger bit from a friends basement when he passed and a binder with saw use & sharpening guides. Then below that I have my 3/8 & 1/2 ratchet & socket drawer open and below that is my fractional wrench drawer. Someday maybe I'll have enough room to get everything organized.

@ Legion Prime, if you don't mind what was the price? I regret not getting one of those boxes.

Well that's a bit complicated, remember how I said the SnapOn dude vanished? Well this was pushing 20 years ago and one week he just never showed up again . . . GONE! Then a few months later a new SnapOn dude showed up and when we tried to make payments he said he knew absolutely nothing about the old dude and we all had zero balances with him. So what did I end up paying? Probably in the neighborhood of $500-1000, but I think what he asked for it was about $2500ish. I remember I got approved for $3k and I was able to buy a couple other things with that in addition to the box.
A couple of us had tried calling the number we had for the old dude, see if something had happened to him and if there was somewhere we could mail out payments or something. I actually had a bunch of little doodads and such he handed out to those that had saved up payments and still made them when he didn't show up for holidays like Christmas and Thanksgiving and such. The phone we had for the guy was never answered and eventually got shut off and the only address was a PO box so there wasn't really too much to do about it beyond that.

I have been working out of a single drawer HF service cart for years and got by but very crowded. Then I upgraded to the Series 2 cart and quickly outgrew that and added the 26” chest. Now everything is overflowing again. Think I am going to pick up a 44” next lol. 40292e0f4aef757c85ed6314ca6e00fd.jpg918cf9487194dbedd440f706ee848251.jpg

I have a 44 and all that won't fit. If you added a hanging drawer set on each side you may get away with it. You've stepped into the Master Level 10 zone brother, you may need to step into the "Mega Box Zone" Lol. Good luck.

I've been playing split garages for a while, and finally got the band back together a few weeks ago and thought it was time to post in this thread. I'll clean up and improve photo quality over time, but wanted to get it out there.

It's a tiny garage, so this was the best angle I could photograph

Recently got myself a new box for work.. took my old one home to sit next to my fathers matco tripple bay drop top.

move is mostly done.. still moving things around.. soo much more room. the little double bay was overloaded.. got a good deal on the TUV and ive always had a soft spot for them. buy once cry once

still need to get a cover of sorts for it.. its in the plastic still. also need to figure out a light. no way im paying snap on price for a hutch light

Nice collection, nice setup, nice organization, nice presentation.:thumbup: Especially like your chisels and punches.

SnapOn KRL1023 with a KRL1099 PowerDrawer hanging off the left and a KRL1011 drawer section hanging off the right.

Now in the left bank of narrow drawers under sockets and wrenches, punches, files, chisels

I don't know. It was a medical cart in its former life. Ball bearing slides. Orange was it's original color. There are no markings that I can find . Any badging is gone.

I really am not a big sticker fan either, but I felt it needed something. I want to get the top box re painted one day orange to match.
