Snap On KR761 (Rt) next to a Series 2 US General 44” box, with a 26” USG top chest. I added 1” sq. alum. tubes to the corners and between banks of the USG box to mimic the Snappy.

I like the 1/2 hutch. I'm 6'2, so regular hutches make me feel claustrophobic. Welcome to the forum.

You'd probably like their boxes, you can get the back riser up to 30 or 36 inches (mine is 18" for reference) for no additional cost and this box is about 45 inches to the work surface. I much prefer the taller work surface for working at the box.

Did you buy new? How much $$?

Yes all brand new. Retail over 43700 plus have the snap on lights in both lockers and work centers (hutches) and those aren’t cheap either

I had been working this deal for quite some time across 2 dealers and 1 rock and roll driver. I was overall happy with the deal we agreed on

Finally got my last Ernst organizer needed to get everything out of the cases and into the top drawer. Just have a few empty slots to fill up now:lol_hitti

This is off-topic, so please skip if you're just here for the toolbox pictures.

I always shake my head at people who shake their heads at people who have unused tools. Like their imaginations can't come up with any of a hundred legitimate reasons someone may have clean tools. It's funny, because I don't even have to use my imagination for that, given how many explanations I've seen on these forums. Like, their tools were stolen and they recently replaced them, or they keep them pretty clean due to working primarily in clean workspaces like labs or jet engines, or because they just like keeping their stuff in nice condition, or they just gave their toolset to their kids and rebuilt it with nicer tools they've wanted their whole lives, or because since they bought them their family has kept them out of the garage, or any number of other scenarios.

I don't even understand why anyone cares to be honest. I couldn't imagine going to a car meet and ragging on someone for having a well maintained car. "Wow, you must never drive this, because it's not completely beat up, dented, and dirty like my car over there."

We should all be happy when we see someone with nice tools, regardless of their use. It's not like anything in that person's toolbox is in extremely limited supply and their purchases prevented the tools from going to someone else who would have used them more. In fact, it's the opposite. The more high-quality tools someone buys, the more the manufacturers will continue to serve the market of high-quality tools. I salute everyone who buys nice tools, because it means the market will continue to exist.

I wonder if it's primarily envy. Like, why do they deserve nicer tools than I have when I'm the one that obviously uses and needs them more? I could understand that feeling. But in response, I guess I'd just urge everyone to remember that the other person buying those tools is still good for you, regardless of whether they use them or not, since it builds and perpetuates the market. That is even assuming they don't actually use the tools, since it's possible the tools are just new and they still will use them.

We're already a relatively small community of people who share an enthusiasm for tools and the possibilities they enable. I don't understand why we insist on dividing ourselves based on the reasons we like tools or the amount that we realize those possibilities. Especially when dividing ourselves based on the brands we like is way more fun.

Agreed and very well said. There is absolutely NOTHING wrong with taking care of things and keeping them nice.

I get this a lot about not only my tools but also my Jeep. I don't flog on either and keep them nice so they will last. I get comments about my shop and tools from neighbors and such but they have to understand, the shop is barely 2 years old now and even though most of my tools are much, much older I clean them each time before they go back into the toolbox (or other storage) so they may not look new but they don't look as old or as used as they are.

We go to Jeep meetings or runs and I get the same thing, you must never take that off road. I ask "why? Because it isn't beat to **** and dented to hell?" Like showing up with a bashed in Jeep is a badge of honor or something.

IF people to choose not to take care of their tools, or anything else for that matter, that is their choice. I choose to take care of my assets and in pristine condition.

Well said. Probably 90% of my tools are 10 yrs old or less and look new - because its home use and everything gets cleaned before it goes back in the box. And if my hands are filthy, I'll change disposable gloves more frequently than necessary if I'm switching to something with a soft handle. 30 yrs ago I never did this, no one even wore gloves that I remember, but all I had was cheap HF tools. I remember 30 yrs ago when a coworker wanted to borrow one of my smaller HF sockets because his SO or Mac one was gonna get shredded on the OD. He offered to replace it, but I said, don't worry, who cares, they're tools. But now I understand :) And I still have that scarred socket.

thanks for the info... Just in case anybody else wants a direct link.

https://store.snapon.com/Wrench-Organizers-Wrench-Organizer-Black-For-smaller-wrenches--P646905.aspx

Might have to cough up the $18 down the road and get a set or ten. :lol_hitti

There are other brands identical to the Snappy ones. I have them in slime green from OEM Tools (# 22216), currently on Amazon for $13.49, but they want $16.14 for the black ones (# 22218). I also picked up a set of blue ones on eBay last year for around the same price, but I don't remember the brand. They are my favorite organizer for wrenches under 1"...

Thanks my friend. Storm grey with titanium trim. Was a hard decision but glad I chose that

That color is beautiful.... Our S-O dealer had a (smaller) box on the truck in Storm Gray with black trim, and my service manager has a Chrysler 300 in Ceramic Gray (code PDN), which is quite close. They would have looked gorgeous together!

thanks for the heads up... I see on amazon you can get them with adhesive OR magnets on the back side.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0777H2Y1W/?tag=atomicindus08-20

Which one did you opt for??? I think Id prefer to cough up the extra money and opt for the magnetic ones... Kinda wanna know how strong the magnets are before I drop the extra cash....

I went with the adhesive ones, as I'm not a huge fan of magnets. The only complaint I have is that you have to do the layout before you pull the backer tape off, then remove all of the wrenches to reset the entire layout and adhere them to the drawer. I guess magnets would make this much easier (and re-arrangeable), so that may help you decide, too!
They also make drawer dividers in the same style, but I found that I don't have as much use for them as I thought I would....

I make custom racks by gluing them to a flat piece of aluminum.

Like those professional series wrenches Mike, we have a few floating around at work, I think they are better than the Maximum wrenches for no particular reason other than them saying "professional"

You're supposed to be marveling at the ingeniousity of my wrench rack, not admiring the wrenches. :lol_hitti

I make all my wrench racks the same way. get the rails from Lowes. difference is I use either abs plastic sheet or plexiglass. can usually get it for free from the scrap bin at a plastic supply place here in town. attach with double stick tape.

Mike, I really like that setup. Stabilizes the rails, stays in place, and is portable/transferable if you need/want to reorganize. And no holes in the bottom of the drawers!

What's the part number/name of the left side roller cabinet. I'd buy one of those.

Cornwell 7 drawer from Craigslist $350.00 with keys.

Used but in good shape, one small dent in the bottom drawer. Should be an easy fix. It is heavy. I am impressed with the beefy nature of this box.

Drawers roll great. Liners should be replaced. Once I get it cleaned up it will great for my little shop.
