Sterff, Great looking set of tools. What's with the duck-taped hammer? It sure is ugly. I'd either hide it in the car trunk or toss it as far as you could throw it and pick it up and give it another throw just for good luck. You then could just rewrap it in alum. foil and then it would at least be shiney in the drawer. One way or the other, I bet it could sure mash a finger.

Thats my scrapping hammer. I beat the **** out of stuff with it. I was bored one day and decided to put duct tape on it for some reason. Its actually pretty easy to hold on to.

Not much, started collecting everything in the pictures the passed 2 months. I have about $126 into everything including the box so I think I've been shopping smart (at least hope so :lol_hitti) Everything in the box (and the box) except the Cornwell torx (German) and Williams adjustable wrench (China) says USA on it

I finally got around to getting a decent tool box. I like the waterloo promaxx even though it is a budget box. I need a middle 3 drawer box as I am already out of room.

And here is my freebie top box that waterloo let me keep. The bottom is a bit crooked so they sent me a new box and let me keep this one.

I have a limited edition Snap-On box. Flat black with carbon fiber drawer pulls. Check out the "rims". My last box was also a flat black SO box.

Dadtorex...

I hate to break it to you but that box isn't a limited edition box. It's in the new SO catalog as we speak. LITERALLY the exact same box..

lipadj46, are those red trays your sockets are in from that cheap plastic craftsman storage box?

Yeah, I tossed the plastic box but figure I will use the trays until I get some socket trays. They are convenient though a little big.

Yea looks like a great idea...I'm looking for an alternative to the metal rails because pulling the sockets off is a pain. Unfortunately I don't think my small box could accommodate those in a space effective manner.

Hansen Socket Trays!!! I got the HF ones thinking it's not worth the extra money for the Hansen ones. Well, it turns out there's about a half dozen normal sizes that aren't on the HF trays.

That is a cool looking box I've never seen one of those before. Thanks for sharing.

Thought about them but they are too tall for the draws in my Husky box =/
My only option would be to put them in the top portion but then they displace my drill and impact. I'm going to have to figure something out soon though as I have some new sockets coming in the mail next week.

you could just cut some plywood strips and put some nails into them. i did that for my dad and grandpa.

Okay, I was looking at the toolbox the other day and remembering when it was new. I was trying to figure out how to organize it and after about 15 minutes I figured out that it was going to take two or three shallow drawers to put all my wrenches in. I happened by Sears and picked up a couple of their wrench organizers and $20.00 later all the wrenches were in the same drawer. As shown:
P4060358.jpg

So the other day I'm looking at the socket drawers. I've got 1/4", 3/8", some 1/2", and some 3/4" drive stuff. So I look at the different methods of storage and decide that there's got to be a way to store the sockets in a shallow drawer, in sets, in a way that I can take the set to the vehicle to work. This is what I came up with:
P4280411.jpg

1/4" drive:

3/8" drive (metric):

I made some 1" deep metal boxes from sheet steel and connected socket rails with pop rivets for the shallow sockets. For the deep sockets I inserted a hinge between the metal box and the socket rail. When you want to close the box you flip the deep sockets down. The jury is still out on how well they work but now I'm on ly out two drawers on the sockets... :)

Opinions?

Not mine but some nice eye candy. (90th Anniversary)

epiq90th.jpg

My co worker bought one of theose this past Tuesday. Nice box but white paint and black trim aren't for me. Really looking at a 68" Epiq. VR6Chris (I think that's his user name) has the box I want.

probably re post or nobody will see them.

Unless we do some sort of an index for this thread. While i know it would be time consuming, i think an index in the first post would be great. Then when people wanted ideas on how to arrange their new 1022, or HF box, or whatever they could look through the index to find others with the same box.
