Ordered the wrench set on line. Store called 1 hour later and said they are out. I told them to complete the order anyway (guy at store recommended this), and call me when stock comes in. In 30 minutes I received confirmation that I was on the list. Too good to pass up.

I show them in stock at a store I will be near on Sat. How long will they hold them if I order? website mentions that you should pickup within 4 days...

They are currently building a store 1 mile from my work but until it is built, there is not one close to me.

Re: Lowe's BOGO?

Perusing Fat Wallet today and came across the Lowe's deal on the
Kobalt 20-Piece Standard (SAE) Mechanic's Tool Set, Item #409432, Model 87141 discounted to $4.98 (planning on local pickup later today), and also found a BOGO for the Kobalt 10-Piece Standard Polished Chrome Standard (SAE) and Metric Combination Wrench Set, Item #: 538862 | Model #: 87083, $14.97.

This is the shorter format set, for a few bucks more ($ 19.97) the standard length set can be had with the BOGO. I wonder if there is a way to get one standard and one short on the deal at the lower price

Adding one gave the second one free. First time I have noticed a BOGO at Lowe's.

http://www.fatwallet.com/Lowes-coup...ae-and-metric-combination-wrench-set/72139-3/

Good deal. When you add the set for $14.97 it automatically adds the larger set for FREE.

Don't forget to actually type in the code from fatwallet into the box so that you get the additional 10% off.

Grand total came out to $14.41 and in the junkyard bag they will go

I picked up the wrenches last night. Chinese as someone else said, but not a big deal as they're going into my junkyard box.
When I got to the customer service desk she handed me one set. When I asked about the other was she said it was zeroed out on the order so they weren't sure what to do. I told her it was a BOGO so she called the tool guy over and he brought it with him. No big deal, out the door in less than 5 minutes.

A BIG thank you, to those that post a pic of their receipt.

It was a receipt pic, that got my last price match...... :)

5 lowes here. None of them will take a picture. Wanted me to get the receipt sent through the mail to me and then bring it in store. No copy either.

I tried the wrench deal last night. It worked the first time, but wrong store.

Then I couldn't get it to add in the extra set. I tried multiple browsers and computers.

Anyone have any luck today?

Same here.... :(

I tried it last night and it added the other set. I figured I would just order this morning when I got to work, and now it's not working anymore.

All that's left in the stores here are the larger ones. A few 24". But rest of them are 36"+. One tool guy was helping a kid that must've seen the deals on slickdeals or something as he wasn't really sure what the clamps were and was asking some strange questions, but he knew he wanted the on sale items. I was looking for the smaller k body clamps and there weren't any and I mentioned it to my son. Tool guy said you really want the 24" ones? I said sure if you had them. He proceded to get ladder and pull 4 out of the overhead storage, he says. I wasn't gonna climb up there for someone that doesn't know what he wants. Other guys jaw just hit the floor.

Also all the tradesman line I have gotten have been made in Germany...

Lowes in Philly (by IKEA) had the display Kobalt air tools in a basket ready to be put out for sale this morning. Nothing was priced yet but I asked about the 3/8" impact and the tool guy said $15 (I noticed on his screen that there was no price listed so he pretty much just made up the $15).

Seemed like an ok deal but I passed on it. I've never once looked at my 1/2" impact and wished it was 3/8".

Most of the Bessey stuff was gone too, but I did see a couple soft jaw sets at $2.**.

For real, those damned slickdeals people are stupid. I remember reading a thread about a Milwaukee drill that was like 60% off. Half of the people ( I assume bored housewives who check that forum all day) said that they weren't sure what they'd ever use it for, but were "in for three!" and could ebay them at a profit if they had to. The other half of the people posted links to Harbor Freight, Ryobi, etc drills and questioned why anyone on earth would order the Milwaukee that still cost more than them at 60% off.

Those threads eat up all of the good deals before people who actually need the product can get to it.

A lot of what you say is also true of people on this board. I'm sure it's worse on SD though.

You guys are right, I've gotten my *** chewed off by "tool experts" over at SD, when I gave my opinion about tools. Most of them can barely tell a scredriver from a wrench, it seems.

Not to derail this thread, BUT.....

I don't get the feeling from a lot of people on here going and buying multiples to Ebay and Craiglist the items. SD it seems a LOT of those people are going after great bargains to flip and profit from it.

I'll admit I buy a lot of multiples of deals on here, but they goto my son, my father in law, my brother in law, and my father.

Once in a blue moon I have flipped a couple of things, but not until after I have bought what I have wanted, and 2 weeks later the items are still there and at an even lower price.

there is a guy in my area on craigslist that seems to have items on every deal I see on here for like 5.00 under retail. Brand new with Tags......

The concept that -

"My perception of MY NEED for this item is more important than my perception of YOUR NEED for this item"...

- is inherently flawed. Should the all important man-cave users (storers?) of a tool be first in line to get some tool over the flippers, the hoarders or anyone else who I feel is "less worthy" of the tool than me?

"I'm sorry, our records show you haven't yacked on a chat group about how you'd use a portable bandsaw enough in the past to warrant our selling one to you. NEXT!"

Buying something you aren't going to use and selling it. How un-American.

There's certainly plenty of tool-polishing types on here, buying up stuff that they'll never really get the use out of to warrant owning, just to try and be part of the club, but such is life.

I don't see me needing that 24" wrench gear wrench had on close out two months ago but it is neat having it hanging up.

Got some China junk today.
$13.15 out the door.
They had a bunch of Irwin boxes waiting to be unloaded to the shelves.

Stopped by my Lowes on the way home from work. All the new Irwin stuff is on the shelves, and there were just a few Bessey items left laying around. Got a 6" woodworking vise which I'll actually use for 6 bucks, a couple 3" C-clamps which will come in handy for brake jobs for a buck a piece, and a 6" clamp (the last one) for 3 bucks. They had a ton of bar clamp ends for 4 bucks/set, but I don't need anymore. I actually limited myself to what I will use and actually need.

Same here in Ohio, just stopped by Lowes after work and the shelves were loaded with Irwin. I did pick up the last Bessey clamp they had though, 36" bar clamp for less than 10 bucks.

Stopped in today, they had all the Bussey vises on clearance. The 4" swivel vise was down to $14 from 49.99 and the 4 1/2 non swivel was down to 9.97 from 49,99.

Picked them both up

FYI - they do seem to find more Bessey stock from time to time. I cleaned them out of pipe clamps on Saturday, but stopped back in on Monday, and they had some more out, along with some more C-clamps. I guess they find old stock in the back or something.

Yea they normally have some on those racks, way up top that's where they had all the extra vises at my store.

Pipe clamps 3.00, c clamps are 2/3 off, bar clamps are 2/3 off but two models are not discounted at all but that didn't stop people from buying those two. I guess they thought they were on sale too or didn't care.

Vises still 51.00 for the 6" and multi purpose.

They said they don't know when they will be cheaper

I find the spring clamps and even the bar clamps work just fine in welding projects once you take off the rubber caps so they don't burn up. They are great for quick use in my work.

So here's a good one. Did the online order for the bora clamp. Had time so just decided to head to lowes before email said it was ready. As I pulled up to store got the voicemail that it was a nonstock item and they were canceling the order. Walked into tool dept and and do I see? My edge clamp. Pick it up. Ask girl there to price check it and it says 4.50. Thank you lowes

Bought some clamps in Atlanta Lowes they were only half off. Stopped by my Lowes and returns desk said just return them here then I'll ring them up at our price and you'll be credited the difference.

Picked up a 5" multipurpose vice still at 51.00 hope to do the same thing when they reduce it to 20.00
