The deal was in the 'Show All Promotions' web page.

Several of the other deals were in the weekly ad, but the layout didn't draw much attention to them.

The Blue Hawk BOGO wrench set promotion is still active -- by the set of 10 SAE wrenches get the metric set for free. 20 wrenches for $10 is a good deal, but they aren't anything special. Blue Hawk has pretty much no warranty ,and the wrenches have chrome plating on as-forged or ground surfaces.

Thanks for clarifying. I didn't remember seeing or reading that.

that Blu Hawk BOGO deal seems pretty good

checking it out right now

I was thinking that too, but last time I looked they looked pretty low quality. Even at that price, I'm nervous I'd just be throwing $10 away. Anyone have experience with them?

my lowes now has the yellow handle center cut wiss cutters on clearance for 699. they are replacing wiss with some brand called project sourse. they retail for 8.58. lowes is getting lower and lower quality with their tool section. home depot really has one up on them in the quality of tools dept, even though lowes sometimes has more of a selection. more homeowner/china stuff i should say.

the Lowes local to me will take a 9.99 tool and mark it down to 9.49 for clearance. No kidding here. Even on clearance, their tools are higher than you can get the same on amazon, sears or elsewhere.

The Lowes here does about the same thing. Now they have clearance tags all over the place. They seem to put about every third item in the store on "clearance" sale. Only thing is, the items are only about 10% off the regular price.

The only time you can get a real discount on something is when they are getting rid of it because it's not moving or when they are replacing the whole line of good quality stuff with some chineeze junk. That's the way it appears, anyway.

I was thinking the same thing...With the recent clear-outs on the Knipex electrical tools, Bessey Clamps, and others, I can't help but wonder at what point I won't even look for tools there because the quality will be so low I'll just go to Harbor Freight.

Thank god I have a pretty robust tool collection now and I have good, USA made versions of most of the stuff I use regularly.

Just brought some home. The point about chrome was a good one; there's a stiff square "bar" as part of the handle with sharp chrome that would dig into one's hands over very little time.

The open and box ends actually seem tolerably finished, so as far as the most basic job of not rounding stuff off, these should do okay-ish. And they "meet ANSI standards", whatever those are.

The only cheaper wrenches are the super cheap HF ones from india that bend at the box end and the Big Lots style. I'd spring the few extra bucks for Chinese Kobalts... which you can trade up if you bust.

Also they include 3/4 and 19mm but not 18mm, a bummer. At least they don't stop at 5/8 like some other cheezy homeowner fathers day gift packs tend to.

Just ordered a 3 pack of Wiss snips 16.85 after 10% code. I know they have them because I saw 2 in the store last week. That's what they show in stock. Lets see if they fill it. I'm 1 for 1 as of this weekend with Lowe's, they actually filled my Bora clamp order.

Picked up an 8pc set of SAE "Power Cross" wrenches for $15.11...the good Taiwan kind. #254676

Probably won't help you guys, since it looks like they're already off of the website. Your stores probably have none.
