I just cleaned two stores out on some really old deals on some old stock that hit in my area.
Item doesn't come up any more searching for me I just happened to see them on a rack all Kobalt tools,
The 4 Piece spark plug kit with the flex head ratchet at $9.05 each
402536 3/8" 200 ft lb impact gun $8.99 each
462579 2pc multi tool kit $1.50 its a mini multi tool and pocket knife.
There older deals so I grabbed what ever stock they had left.
Found a store with the impact for $5.**, we'll see if the order goes through
Are these any good?

Think about the price of labor here versus China.
Then look at the price.
Then ask yourself, what corners were cut.
There you have your answer.
I'd like to see the math on this. If you had a good teacher, they would have told you to show your work. The difference in labor cost if offset by the higher transportation cost.

American workers have insurance, payroll tax, demand better conditions, etc. These are not incidentals either.
Typically if they can most of the lower costing chinese products are made from USA scrap which has a transportation cost also. This would be much lower transporting the scrap to a USA factory. Still potential to get the same quality at best at this price.
These could still be made elsewhere as blanks and the tips machined here. That would be enough work to say it was made here.
In other words, I don't think you have enough information to make the above statement.
They where 50 bucks last year lol. new model is rated at 275lbs and now selling for $50. not a bad gun for what it is, but its no IR.
They don't show up online, but there was a full cart of lag shields on clearance at my local store today for about a quarter a box. These were packs containing between 10-25 metal sleeves that are put into concrete (or concrete blocks) to hold lag screws instead of using Redheads or Tapcons. They had both long and short versions of the shields, and all were $9-13 a box originally.
They also had 2-packs that included 2 lag bolts plus the 2 lag shields -these were a whole 11 cents each.
I have this thread to thank for a few deals so I'm am hoping this helps someone else get a deal - good luck!
Chinese govt. subsidizes many business costs- hidden benifit to make competing difficult. Regular business models don't apply much in todays world, and are used to confuse and distract people to prevent change that would help them.
USA gov. subsidizes many businesses also
LOL. It's not even CLOSE to being the same.
I bought a 3/8" and a 1/2" kobalt this year, one didn't spin at all in either direction and the other would spin, but couldn't break loose a bolt I torqued to 20ft lbs. I was stunned. Promptly returned both and bought a 231c.
My local Lowes was clearing out the batteries/chargers from display power tools, some outdated some current. All $5 each
The only battery that was left that looked useful was a Skil 12v LiIon. I don't own a Skil 12v tool, but it looked awfully similar to the Bosch 12v tools I have. I took it over to a Bosch 12v tool and it slid right in, even the latches matched up the right locations as well as the electrical contacts. The only thing was the Skil batt has a little plastic lip where the Bosch batt is flat that prevented it from going all the way in. For $5 I couldn't go wrong. I'll check the contacts with a DMM to verify polarity, then probably just shave the little tab off and see if it works.
No item number, but I think it's just the battery from this kit:

Wandering around canton mi lowes the other day I saw a hitachi drill bit set randomly sitting on a shelf unmarked, price checked at $13. Finally found them! Thanks guys, wouldn't have thought twice if I hadn't read it here.
These are clearance priced at $3.00

Also replace blade 5-packs are 50 cents
I bought a couple and six packs of blades. I need these like a hole in the head but... You know how it is. They also had a bunch of Kobalt plier and light pouches for $1.00
I picked these up when I was installing a water filter under the kitchen sink. They work great for cutting plastic tube or hose. I've used them a surprising amount since then.
i cant tell and ive always passed on the clearance price. not low enough for me to gamble. if it used utility blades would be a decent deal. Those use standard utility knife blades? I love my handi cutters or whatever they are called, but blades are expensive and sometimes difficult to find.

A follow up on this, the Skil battery dropped right into my Bosch charger and charged right up, confirmed all contacts were the same, just didn't have a chance to shave off the excess plastic to slide it in my Bosch tools. Yes it's .6ah less, but for $5 I can't go wrong on a spare battery.
