Just picked up the Kobalt direct drive ratchet with the 14 pieces multi socket for 9.98. This set has been on sale for 19.99 for awhile I guess they were not moving at that price. I figured I'd try it out for $10. I need to replace the water pump on my Jeep so I'll try it out and report back.

No kidding. There were piles of these for $20 when I went through the store last night. For $10 it's really hard to pass up even if only for the novelty. Thanks for the note.

If It does well I'll put It In the vIse and put a 10 foot cheater pIpe on It untIl It breaks and vIdeotape It.

Just kidding on the 2nd part

For the price you should totally do that.

Great price.

Could I ask you to post a photo of your receipt? Lowes might be willing to match that price for other people.

How would you compare the quality/feel of the 48" Swanson to the 48" Bostitch?
Personally I like the Swanson better it has better rubber ends on it along with a magnetic bottom on it personally I would have just bought the Swanson l over the Bostitch but it was too good of a deal to pass up

Ok here is the receipt. I used it a little bit last night definitely different feeling because you're expecting the clicks Of the ratchet which it does not do obviosly. It has a nice positive drive.

Picked up one of these night before last. Didn't really need it, but for $10 I couldn't pass it up, about any decent 3/8 ratchet alone is over $10.

Bosch 16-ft telescoping leveling rod for 12.50 around Savannah. Regularly $40-something.

Picked up a couple of those direct drive sets too, $10 seems to be the holiday price. Can't wait for the post-holiday clearance. Want to pick up another Double Drive screwdriver.

The local Lowe's also has Clorox sanitizing wipes, 3-pack for around $3.50 with discount. Holiday decor is 30+% off already too.

In years past, Lowes seems to have killer deals on what's typically high end stuff. Feel like this year it's mostly $20 items down to $10.

Who do you hate enough to give crappy chinese tools or universal sockets to?

I picked one up for the father-in-law. Got him the Double Drive ratchet set and screwdriver last year. He'll likely never use them much, but it's the thought that counts; besides, if he does use them they'll just get tossed in a crate and beat to hell with the C-man, Klein, and other tools he picked up during his years as an electrician. I guess I should flag down the next Snap-On truck and get a $100 ratchet for him instead...

Back on topic, 1-gallon 409 refills are $3.99, down from $9.99. They've also got heavy gauge sheet-metal screws for under $4, original price was over $12. Two-packs of headlamps are $4, and should keep my kids away from my Petzls.

Stopped into the Sears Hometown store today too. Picked up a $30 multimeter for $9.99. It's not the Fluke 87 that got stolen, but it may be a step up from the free HF meter I was making do with.

Where did you find the sheet metal screws in the store? End cap? First isle where the bulk screws are?

My store is doing an in store special on kobalt tool kits. Nearly all of them are marked 20% off.

The small ratcheting bit kit has also been dropped from 19 to 9. Cheaper than the husky and gearwrench.

scored the last swanson 4ft level for 10 bucks! found it laying down behind the new display. :)

Not bad, but the Portland area had the Swanson and Bostitch for $8. Had to get two for that price. Also, keep an eye out for the Bosch Laser Levels. I picked up a GLL2-40 for $90.

I placed an order this morning for local pickup for several levels and a small socket set that were all on sale. I just received a call an hour later telling me that they don't have any of the items. One of the items says quantity 5 in stock. Another order I placed a couple of days ago for the direct drive socket set now says picked up but it was not picked up. When I called them back to check on that order the woman told me the first order is there. She doesn't know why it says picked up. Frustrating.

Last week when I wanted one of the $75 Dewalt led lights from Home Depot I went to two different stores. Both stores showed stock online, but none were on the sales floor. But in both stores we found a full box of 4 up in the steel and in both cases that exceeded their stock showing on hand. I only bought one at the first store which is why I ended up going to the second store a couple of days later.

You are lucky to get a call. The Lowes by the San Jose airport doesn't bother to call or email a notification that the part isn't in stock. Nor do they update their inventory count.

Finally saw those kobalt bit ratchets. picked up the last two.

Also somehow after the shelf sitting empty for months with the price tag still there, there 6 [500qty] boxes of the fine thread Kreg screws. $4 down from $20, so now there's 0 again.

My lowe's had those titanium keychain slotted screwdriver circles from last year for 8 cents a piece. Good price bros.:dunno:

for 8 cents id take one but really how many are you ever gunna use...

Saw those locally a few weeks ago. Bought enough for all of the guys in our family and used them for stocking stuffers or as decorations on the outside of the presents.
