Has anyone seen the Dewalt 20v trimmer marked down? It doesn't show online anymore. The ones I have seen in store are still full price

Anyone on here use those Kreg jigs? Thinking about picking one up if my local store has that "deal" posted above.

Would make the Honey do list a little easier to do.

I bought one forever ago because I found a deal on it. It was the K3 master system (thats how old it is).

Ive used it all of once....but when I did, it basically paid for itself. I was able to make 2 window extension jambs in about 10 minutes.

As for not having used it more, I fault myself more than the jig....there are several projects I could have used it for but without really experimenting with it, I didnt realize how much easier it could have made those projects.

The two Lowes locations Staten Island, NY are offering 10% of all in stock merchandise for the next few days. They had a few signs posted in the stores. I am not sure if it is just in Staten Island.

Anyone in the NYC region have an extra one of these:
Kobalt Standard (SAE) Mechanic's Tool Set (19-Piece)
Item #: 338526 | Model #: 85191
http://www.lowes.com/ProductDisplay?partNumber=338526-22328-85191

Seems to be completely gone nationwide, and would love to obtain a matching set to the metric one. I can offer a Kobalt 80 piece tool set in return.
http://www.lowes.com/pd_229157-22328-86216_0__?productId=3693914

Thanks.

Thanks.

The 19 piece 6-point SAE set is still available, but under a different part # (86760). Unfortunately it seems like they jacked up the price to $40.

Like you, I also have the metric set (85190) and thought about getting the matching 6-point SAE set, but couldn't justify it as most of my SAE sockets have never been used.

Hows it going you guys? Wondering if anyone know of a new location to find the lowe's coupon codes similar to the ones that were on slick deals in the past until they had to be lame as hell and ban the entire thread.

Thank you for all the reviews on the Kreg jig. Sounds like I should pick one up, but passed on the Lowe's deal for now.

My store just dropped these on the clearance rack and the price has not been adjusted so cashier had to manually over write the price . Some dude grapped 4 and I managed to secure one.

My Kobalt sockets look identical to my Gearwrench ones. The design is almost exactly the same except the Kobalt sockets are laser etched while the Gearwrench ones are engraved. They even weigh the same.

I wouldn't be surprised if they were made by the same manufacturer. Both are made in Taiwan.

Just an update to my last post: My Kobalt sockets(which I bought for light duty because cheap) at work are made in China, so that would explain the discrepancy in our perception of Kobalt sockets.

Correction. $40.12. They took an expired $10 off $50 coupon card. Rochester had it hiding in the sliding overhead

They kept saying it was a display model that they probably don't have anymore but I knew it was up there there for over 3 months

Did you have to get it yourself? Usually when it is less than 5 they do not look for it.

For anyone in the area, Essex and Burlington VT were showing some dirt cheap Senco nailers before they fell off the website. I think one of them had a framing nailer for $30 and some staplers for $15.

Don't bother calling, they won't help you. You'll have to go in and look around, more than likely behind the sliding overhead above the nailers.

Too far of a drive for me

Btw Seabrook NH lowes had that Blue Hawk welding cart for $50. Probably alright for a smaller welder, but I wouldn't put a Miller 211 on it

Thought about buying one of those Xtreme access sets, but a few issues made it a dealbreaker for me:

1) It's a proprietary system not compatible with the other major brands of pass-through ratchets (Craftsman, HF, Gearwrench, etc).

2) The sockets are 2 in 1 (SAE/metric in the same socket). They don't make separate SAE and metric sockets for this system.

IMO, if you want a pass-through ratchet set on the cheap, the HF 21-piece set is a better option since it at least comes with separate sockets for SAE/Metric.

I got the Kobalt Xtreme access 3/8" + 1/2" ratchet and a 10-piece 1/2" Xtreme access socket set for $3 each to check out the nice smooth 72 fine tooth ratchet. Then picked up the special adapters from $.75-$1.25 to allow each Xtreme access ratchet to use regular NON-SPLINE sockets.

Yeah, pretty much the same reason I didn't buy any. I might bite if they take another 50% off. The Xtreme access double box end are damn tempting though, they're still on sale and still have a fair amount(Pic from a couple weeks ago):

Those seem to be the same design as the Xtremeaccess sockets - two different sizes on each box end. That just seems like a bad idea to me.

Same here. They are still on the shelves at the Lowe's I was at today. I guess we aren't alone in that line of thinking.

What is not compatible? Should I stop interchanging them?

2) The sockets are 2 in 1 (SAE/metric in the same socket).

True, they are spline sockets, which work better and fit a wider range of fastener heads, so you don't need separate SAE and metric sockets. This is a benefit - fewer sockets while still safely providing more torque than a conventional 6 pt or 12 pt socket (which only applies force at the corners, spline sockets apply force at the middle of the side of the fastener head)

No clue what you are talking about here. Spline sockets grab the corners of the fastener, not middle of the sides. True, spline can fit more different types of fasteners, but there is no way a spline socket is better than a 6 point socket on a standard hex bolt.

Most manufacturers make separate Metric and SAE spline because they fit better that way. Having SAE/Metric in one is a poor choice, and only store brands do it.

Also, there are adapters to use the Kobalt pass through sockets with the gearwrench/craftsman/husky pass through ratchets. They are on clearance too, but hard to find.
