I went in yesterday looking for this, nowhere to be found. Today I go in and ask about it again, old guy says it's probably gone. I noticed a Dewalt set under the hardware counter desk and asked if that was it, he said no it's something else. After he walked away, I took a peek and sure as ****, that was it.

This the guy in Greenland haha?

42210 Model TM860SCUGEN
GE 4 space generator power input box
$38.27

I don't know what full retail is. It's saying 33% off from $57, but I don't think that's right. I think $57 was another markdown.
Home Depot is showing it for $150

Still $96 at area store.

Did you confront him about it or did you just grab it and buy it?

At our local store, they have a guy that they hold the clearance stuff for, and he turns around to sell it at the local flea market. I cant help but think someone in house is benefiting from this arrangement.
Hard to find any good clearance stuff because of this.

Thanks, Gents, for the props. It makes it all worthwhile to know that some people appreciate the efforts.

It's been weeks since I made the recommendation for anyone who is unhappy with Lowes to contact ECS. I've explained why I've stopped complaining about being cheated at Lowes, and why I've started being proactive instead. Doing that turned a losing situation into a winning situation for me. I don't want to sound like a broken record, so this will be the last time that I say it:

It's not helpful to complain in this forum about unethical behavior at your local Lowes store -- complaining in this thread will get you nowhere. If you have a legitimate concern, then take the time to write a detailed letter to Lowes management. They value this sort of feedback and in my experience they take decisive action to deal with the problem.

Right now Lowes isn't convinced that the problems I've reported are as widespread as I claim them to be because nobody else is making the same complaints. (Hint, hint.) It's going to take a lot of similar complaints to get Lowes to realize that there is a system-wide problem with inventory diversion. Quite literally, they're blind to the problem at the management level for two reasons: a) because the people involved are good at hiding their actions, and b) because customers aren't writing enough complaints to convince them that there is a system-wide problem.

Yes, it's easier to just ***** and moan, but I always get a positive result of out taking the time to write to them. I've already contacted them at least a dozen times, and every time I've gotten complete resolution of my concerns. Yesterday's mail:

Sweet! How do I get cheated too?

I just grabbed it and walked off. Don't know where he went

Sorry, that's a **** move. You crossed a line.

That desk is the mans work space. How would you like a client or customer coming into your shop or office, and grabbing something from under your desk?

Maybe he had already or planned to buy that for himself? Oh, he's an employee. not allowed to do that......BS

Maybe it was for his son for Christmas. Maybe he was gonna ebay it. Doesn't matter. It wasn't for public sale and you basically stole it.

It's store property and it was labeled for sale with a price sticker directly on it. Fair game. You new here?

Nope, not a **** move. The **** move in this situation was the dirtbag on the payroll lying to the customer who was specifically looking for a very specific item, and then when the customer asked if that was it, he lied AGAIN! He left the item in clear sight of the customer and walked off. If he didn't want it to be claimed, then he should have locked it up or put it in a drawer somewhere. Screw him. It was in clear sight of the customer, it was clearly labeled with pricing, and no apparent broken package or some random reason it would have been unavailable to the customer. If it had been, then it wouldn't have rung up at check out. Screw that POS dirtbag.

I have no sympathy for Lowe's underhanded staff members. The ones that behave as they should... different story.

Spn1025... good on you!

Have to disagree with this. I worked retail for many years and holding items for yourself is consider stealing. Not only are you time stealing, but hiding products that are supposed to be on the sales floor is consider stealing as well, even if you don't walk out with the item. A person is hired to sell the product to consumers. Customers comes first at all times, you are supposed to shop during your free time for example: Lunch time, after work, before work, break, day off and so on, but never while you are on company time.

Even when I called corporate, I was told employee shouldn't be hiding or shopping during their shifts unless they are on break. Employee don't get special priority just because you work at the store. During my years working retail, I saw many people get fired for stuff like this.

Just put yourself as an owner of a company, one of your employees was hiding merchandise instead of selling it and decided not to buy it in the end. Lost the first sales due to an employee hiding it, merchandise is not moving now and you are loosing money when it could have been sold if it was on the floor in the beginning.

If I was the store manager and found out about that, upon finding visual proof(security cameras) I'd fire the employee and apologize to the customer...but being that it is Lowe's, the employee would probably get promoted.

When i worked at lowes years ago employees hid stuff and took clearance stuff all the times including managers. Yeah it ***** but it is what it is. I guess thats an advantage or working at a crappy retail place. Most people could care less if they got fired its just a replaceable job for some.

can you guys check your local pricing on this one? it's weird.. when I sort by price high to low, it falls around the $120 range.. but the price is $215?

Also, this is the only store in the whole area that has it in stock, and only has 1.
I figured it was clearance, but isn't this a new model?

expensive! could have been 8,900 boxes of nails from HD... showing none in stock around here. did you get them at Pembroke Pines?

Oakland Park. yea compared to the deals that we got in from HD back in june, yea they are expensive. but at $4.70 a case I can still make some money gonna set them at 5,000 pcs per a flat rate box and sell them at 45 free shipping. HD has them at 44 for 4,000 plus tax. I can still drop them down to 40 for 5,000 and make 20 bucks each. I've got time.

Hopping HD has another large nail clearance again.

Picked up mine (display model) for like $34 a few weeks ago. Keep looking around, it might be cheaper. Most likely, it's all display models left (unless the store is showing more than 1). $64 is still a good deal for it though.

I bought something deeply discounted over the weekend on Lowes.com for in-store pickup. Right after I completed the transaction the merchandise disappeared from the website ... just as it should have. inventory is now zero and the price jumps from the blowout price to the full non-stock price.

15 minutes later I get a cancellation phone call, with somebody at the local store telling me my order has been cancelled because the merchandise does not exist in the store. "Counts are off," they said.

A few minutes after my order gets cancelled the merchandise reappears on the web site, but only for a few minutes and then disappears permanently.

Got any idea what's going on here???
