I just got the call that they "can't find the item."

Would it be worthwhile for me to email corporate? I'm tempted to run over and see if the impact is there or not...

I would if it's nearby. It becomes a hunt though.. if it's a display model, check the current displays (write down the model number first), check whatever clearance rack they throw old displays on, check around the hardware desk. If you can't find it, it could be in the sliding overhead, which is a pain in the *** to get someone look through for you. They all say the same thing to me, "it wouldn't be in there". BS! Get your as on that ladder!
Check all of their overhead overstock that you can see.

Some stores around here have milk crates stuffed with with old display models behind the hardware section desk/counter.

2 more online orders cancelled, both for the same item at different stores, 1 more email to Lowes CEO cc to Customer Care.

This was for Bosch 18V Impact Driver 234609, $33.79 and $44.52

Couple of locations in my area show it for $55.65 but the ones near me that say its in stock has it for a higher price...hmm

$55 is a decent deal for it if you plan on keeping it. It only comes with 1 battery though, which may or may not be an issue for some people.. Works for me. I kept the one that I got and just sold the Hitachi 18V I picked up a few weeks ago. Still have the Hitachi 12V on eBay. Now I need to find a matching Bosch drill.

Yea, I would keep it. Just pondering a way to get the more local store to price match...there are a few places sort of near me that show it in stock. $55 seems to be the lowest.

$66, $69 and $111 for me in Tampa, FL, those are the only stores nearby with the Bosch in stock.

So when you guys find these Bosch impacts, do they have the 2.0 Ah battery that the web site says they're supposed to have, or the 1.5 Ah battery that nobody wants?

Well, when I bought my display model, we went through their whole bucket of chargers and batteries. Couldn't find a single 2.0Ah. There were a few 1.5 slim packs. I ended up with a 2.6Ah and a 30 minute charger (both better than what's supposed to come with it).

Just got ganked on an order for 3 of them in one store. Associate cancelled the order saying, "we haven't had any of those for months they all sold out months ago when they got marked down." It turns out they had been marked down from MSRP for all of 15 minutes and I was the only person who knew it. They just blatantly stole my order for 3 units and then lied that there were none in stock. I'm writing my 6th complaint to ECS this week.

crazy - contemplating placing an order for one. The cheapest one is not near me but I'll be that way early next week. Could swing by and pick it up if I like it in person.

There is one closer to me but its a few dollars more and missing battery and charger - display model.

I just got "ganked" as well. I ordered the impact along with a Miter stand. Inventory showed three in stock. I received the phone call that the unit they had was the display unit minus battery and charger, and it was the only one. Now get this- She tells me it is a non stocking item- so why would they have a display? She told me that is was the only one in stock- to which I told her that inventory showed three when I placed my order- which she then said two were purchased before mine to other customers. Crazy! I'm not too upset, they're dirt bags. I told her I will be writing corporate, if someone has their email, pm me. She asked if I still wanted the stand, I told her to keep it.

Coralnut: Just curious. Which store did you order from? I took your advice and called the store that is supposed to transfer stock from another store to fulfill the order they sold out from underneath me. The manager told me the items are on the way and should be in friday.

I went to one store that had the bosch impact for $36 or $37. Couldn't find it anywhere. Went to another that had three at $55.65 and snagged one. It was still marked $127.** on the display. Pretty good deal I think especially since I almost bought one last year when it was around $130. I already have an 18v Bosch drill so this is damn near perfect. I hope the 18v sawzall goes on clearance too!

I looked at the Bosch impact this morning because it was in stock at a store I'll be passing by today- and it was still on the site. Looked again just now to place an order and it's "no longer available on lowes.com."

I picked up one of the Bosch drivers last night at $63.60. It was at a couple of stores at $55.65, but after coming very close to buying online I did some figuring and what I would've used in gas was $2 more than the price difference. Since the Lowe's across the freeway from work had one, I went there. Took a little hunting before finding it on a Bosch display next to the CS desk. I had walked right by it when I got there lol. After remembering I had a couple of gc's with about $32 between them in my wallet I figured $33 (after tax) out of pocket wasn't too bad. I've been wanting an impact for a long time so I'm a happy camper.

Seems like placing a order just prewarns employees of the deal.
Just go in person and grab the item. They can't say it's not in stock when you have it in your hot hands. Or am I missing something?

I agree. I went to the store, placed order online with discount. Went to customer service with the items. Done. Yes, two employees saw the deal and went to see if there was any left.

Not really an option for me, the store is too far away to take the chance. Like I said, wasn't really upset, except for the ******* the other end flat out lying. I mean if you're going to lie, try to be a little convincing.

True normally I would go in the store and get it, but this was across town and I had to pick up my son last night. I guess I could have waited until the weekend but the price online said it was only good through the 18th.

It's just frustrating since I am getting them for myself and not a resale for profit. Not that there is anything wrong with that I don't think I would be as upset if I was trying to turn it for a profit. So the hunt continues....

Are you guys finding this stuff new or display models? most of the cheap stuff I've been getting has been display models

The one I got was a display. Only thing missing was the belt clip and I don't know for sure if it had that to begin with. It's listed on the box, but in the owner's manual it's listed as optional. Either way I don't really need it.

Next time . . . DOCUMENT . . . those inventory levels by taking screen shots on computer (ie Windows Key and Prt Scrn key at same time).

Take another screen shot when your order completes online. Then another screenshot that shows Lowes inventory level changes for YOUR order.

Put all those screenshots in Word file that you keep to document your transaction.

Time to STOP this "ganking" by the Lowes employee skanks !! ;)

Lowes needs to change their process to only let employees set Item Description and Quantity that's needed to fill the order.

I did this CYA for order I made on SearsOutlet and it did save my ****. Quantity 2 went through but next day, the computer said 1 was cancelled. This was BS as I had called Sears store in TX ahead of time and knew for sure there were 2 items. Called Sears in TX (after computer cancelled one) and employee promised to hold the 2nd item to go along with 1 already paid for - - - - worked out as both items there 2 wks later when I drove to TX to pickup. This got me qty 2 Craftsman Stainless Steel 8 ft benches at $73 each!!

that's because this thread kills the goose that lays the golden eggs.
This.

When cs gets a zillion complaints on a closeout item they just pull it down and let the stores the rest via walk ins.

Probably, but this location isnt near me but will have an opportunity to swing by there when I'm back in town. Didn't want to make the detour on a gamble.
