Mac Tools Closeouts! Some killer deals

the 12" T&Gs are confirmed china (also have the black grips like what is pictured on the duckbill and dykes as opposed to the red pictured) from someone who actually got them

the long reach hose grips i got had no indication anywhere of COO...

Might as well just get the Irwin Groove-locks then. Pretty much the only reason for buying those 12" Mac T&G pliers was the chance that they might have been US-made.

It's hard to go back to regular tongue and groove pliers after using the push-button style (e.g. Irwin Groove-lock, Knipex Cobra, etc).

I'll roll the dice at those prices and order some pliers. How bad can they be? As far as Import vs USA made, I'd always opt for red, white and blue American over red China but what's a buyer supposed to do when imported is what the vendor offers? Besides, I believe that Mac will stand behind their tools, wherever they come from.

It does not matter if they are Chinese the bag O pliers that Mac puts on sale about twice a year are always Chinese. If they break mac will warranty them for life and replaces them with the USA tool that is triple the price. At least my dealer does.

they are the same pliers that are in those bag of pliers, steelman sourced last time I looked so there pretty much half off since the flier deals used to be 11 for what $100 or so? Had a set years ago, not that great, still didn't stop someone from stealing them. Your lucky if you got USA replacement, different part numbers, way different designs and a whole lot more money lol.

Edit.. nevermind. that's not the order number.. the order number is in the original "order acknowledgement" email.

ok... for those curious about the order notification emails and how the charges happen this is my experience so far

i previously ordered all 3 plus one of the pythons... got my duckbills and pythons but the dykes and T&G were cancelled...

the order notification email still showed the full amount but the initial preauthorization was cancelled and a charge for just the duckbills and the pythons plus tax appeared... another thing to note with the pre-auth charges were always the total before tax...

in fact here is how the charges for the order look on my account summary

reordered the cancelled items from previous order and now the dykes are cancelled and the T&Gs are backordered... i imagine the pre-authorization will also cancel out and i will only be charged for the T&Gs

i'm going to order the dykes again just for shits and giggles

They did not take the money off your card till they shipped in my case. Total was still the original even though they showed canceled. Your card will get charged for snag shipped. I went through this last week.
