Got my duck bills about a week ago but forgot to post then. They seem fine to me, line up almost perfect. Overall I'm pretty happy for $5.

For $5 shipped I don't know how you can really complain. I bought mine as an extra sets to leave in the house tool box and they are perfectly fine for that...

ok seriously people. what were you expecting from items on clearance. For $5. It's no secret all of MAC tools have been made in china for decades*. I mean really, what were you expecting?

*I'm sure you can find a tool on the MAC truck that's USA. Or that some have moved offshore more recently than 10 years ago. But it's well documented on this website that MAC primarily sells chinese tools.
not complaining what i paid. shocked that a tool truck company has this cheap of a set of pliers.

they seriously look like something you bought under the old task force name at lowes.

i have plenty of mac chinese and have seen plenty of mac chinese new and used that i dont own and all looks like they could have been usa or taiwan made. ill get plenty of use out of them.

except for their coarse tooth ratchets, 90 tooth ratchets, screwdrivers, sockets, wrenches...

Allens, pry bars, hammers, power tools (assembled in US), some pliers still, punches, chisels, burrs.....

No coo is marked on this duckbill. Isn't that a law?

WTF do you expect for $5? Didn't even have to get off your fat *** and go to the store. And you made your wife go to the mailbox to boot.

The price is irrelevent. Doesn't matter if its a closeout item. This is mac tools. One of the big three. Their should be more quality in their product.
if this was a snap on thread people would have burned their building down already.

Mac Tools and Matco are different right?

I would expect a disclaimer if they are selling for 5.00 free shipping. They are breaking even or losing money with UPS fees.
But since 9 out of 10 people say they **** then they know they ****.

If they sold all their tools and 9 out of 10 sucked they would be out of business, so no where did it say expect these to **** or they are seconds etc. All they said was they are selling out this sku and not reordering.

Got my order at the end of last week. Duckbills look good. Way better then the photo in this thread.
I also got the spark plug socket kit which I must say is pretty nice! Case says made in Taiwan, but the quality is good and I am very satisfied. I will try to post a photo tomorrow. Total was $26

They were giving them away because they know they ****. The $5 just about covered the postage. I swear if I ever get this senile when I get old i hope someone shoots me. Go burn the factory down. The reds and putin in the next couple of weeks are gonna put on a sht show of how crappy their stuff is.

I ordered 2 pair and they look fine. $5, free shipping. What else do you need/want? The people complaining and saying "I'll never buy from MAC tools again, Geez, Ugggh, Damn tool truck tools should be better, they should pay us to take them, blah, blah blah." You'll see these yahoos shopping for JUNK at Harbor Freight next week.

I'm happy with mine, they work just as they should.

i bet you a dollar if harbor freight had a set of long reach duck bills they would be higher quality than the macs.

you sound like a snap on purist. why would you even buy chinese closeout tools?

Maybe I'm wrong but...

If the current trend of Mac replacing their inferior tools with better to offset the damage they've done in the first place then MAYBE buy them, use them, warranty if they break with better.

Why does it seem like everything thinks this is the best Mac offering?

These pliers are literally the lowest offereing of pliers they have.

Link to pictures I took: http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=304615

The P series are all like this. They have a full warranty just like the USA ones, but are much cheaper in price and quality.

They are junk. Nobody disputes that. They're free with $5 shipping. Maybe they'll come in handy to get a few heads out of there you know what.

Anybody ever get the back ordered slip joints? I haven't.

I did just get an email response from them about another question I emailed them on 9/23 so speed must not be important with them.
