I'll grab a photo tomorrow. I even bought my dad the brushless lxt drill/driver kit in the hard case as a Christmas gift. He's still got the old Makita 7v Ni-mh drill..
That's where it all started for me in my early twenty's use to use those batteries for my RC's
Do i have other branded corded and cordless tools sure, but they just end up turning blue with envy

I didn't see any oil on the outside.

Does yours hold 140psi? Mine drops to 130 in about 10 seconds, and it's down to 120 after about 25 minutes. I'm wondering if it's just the air cooling off in the receiver. I'm gonna give it an hour and see if it continues to drop then I'll start spraying all the connections.

It's not as loud as I thought it might be, definitely a lower tone than some of the ear splitting oil-less units. I can still talk over it.

Edit: it's holding solid at 120 psi.
As a follow up… I just checked the tank, and it’s holding pressure at 130 psi.

Makita BJR182, no star. The star batteries won't plug in. I'll have to re-check tomorrow. No biggie, I've been wanting the upgraded model anyhow.

About to get the same kit. What deal are you referring to?

Thanks

Oh we Blue Smurfs never reveal our sources.
First are you a True Blue Makita Freak or just one that's looking for assorted colors, these things matter to us.
Do you feel anger and rather go red (Milwaukee) or perhaps your green with envy(Hitachi), i suppose black and yellow and you're a Steelers fan (Dewalt), an OJ drinker? (Ridgid), i do favor the Falcon's colors (Porter Cable), perhaps you like bright flavored drinks (RYOBI),
i know, you are of the darker of us Blues Brothers (BOSCH), maybe you are confused and in the gray area (FLEX) and a dozen more capable attributes to the community, but when i'm feeling down and out i just sing the Blues.(I had to, i just had to.)
OK serious now The Deal.
AMAZON.
I paid 443.23 clams
just now checked and it went up tad bit $448.52
I tried to look for a refurbished one.
but that's not to bad either, just think of the BOX!

Still thinking about the 36V 7-1/4 rear handle circular saw kit + free tool for $249 at Home Depot
2x18V 7-1/4" circular saw
2x5.0 batteries
double charger
bag (so what)
Free tool, likely the 1/4+3/8 ratchet. Should be good for auto repairs.
I can sell my 18V 6-1/2" saw and the double charger since I already have 2 double chargers.

I believe my barrel saw's reciprocating plunger shaft is failing (where the blade receives, about six months old).
This comes where i believe no matter what tool, product, brand, warranty, guaranty they have or come with, when these things happen, i just won't purchase that specific product again, and move on back onto my corded tool(s).
I came to a conclusion why is it i have specifically a Makita 20 year old drill and still functions and brushed to boot?
because there is a lot of complexities to different types of how each and every cordless specific tool is made.
So i figure that's when (no matter which company) you then only have that specific tool CORDED!
now this Blue thread will always have updates on how well these Makita's hold up, trust me i use each and every one of them on a daily and weekly basis and besides I love collecting them, besides there's no better feeling than feeling Blue.🥱:D

It's a hell of a deal. Just 2 5.0 batteries are $200.

I won't need a circular saw for atleast several months, but the batteries, dual charger, and free tool was too good to pass for $236. (discounted) ****** it up while it's available. They ran out of some other deals.

It's a tempting deal for sure, but I'm not willing to give up my 6.5" 18v saw. With a sharp blade this guy cuts through 1" plywood subfloor like butter. And it's so light I don't mind using it on a ladder or overhead. I already have a corded skil saw for when I need the power, and I just can't justify the 36v rear handle even though I really want it.

Have you seen the new japan-only 18v with the removable base section? That would be so nice for cutting out floor up flush against a wall. If that one comes out over here I might have to splurge

I ordered the XSR01 from HD and picked it up. Box was beat to ****. Don't know how HD could sell something like that.
Exchanged it for another one. The ratchet will ship to my house in 2 weeks. Not an optimal experience.

I also picked up the XSR01 but the blade is pretty far off from the baseplate indicator. I tried facing the inside flange (spacer) both ways to no avail. Anyone else run into this problem? Makita tech service said return the saw to HD.

It looks like they have revised the notch design at some point.
But either way, the blade follows the tab, not the notch recess.
I cant tell 100% from your pic, but it looks okay.
That Max blade is super thin so it will be a little off from the guide line.
Here is a pic of mine with a Diablo blade. Its also a ultra thin blade.
I straight edged the blade body, so this doesnt account for the tooth thickness.
In use, it cuts as it should.

Wanted to post up some of my brushed Makita tools that are in great shape. The only negatives are the relatively weak 18V recip and the small corded hammer drill which doesn’t hold small drill bits well. The 18V drills and impact drivers are at another project location.

When you are feeling blue and just want to chip away the things that are bothering you, or extreme dental work...
Makita XRH01Z ✅
This can drill 1/2" or smaller ok, anything larger, well you'll need something with more Umph!
Just used it this morning for some Tapcons and post bases. (haven't yet to use as just Hammer mode)
I'm going to order the 36V model for bigger projects.

gotcha. i'm just gonna keep it since 99% of the time i line the blade up w/ the cut and don't even use the references on the baseplate. thanks for the post.
