What do you all think about this test that Matco simulated?

I think the drawer configuration should have been the same, obviously the Matco had a full length top drawer which incorporated a full support which just so happened to be the contact point on the drop.

coincidence?

It was put out by Matco, I would believe it more if it was a independent third party doing the test.

Plus what is this supposed to show? What would happen if a super raised truck were to hit your box with its bumper going 15 MPH with all the drawers out of your box?

Oh my goodness, the Snap-On is self-righting! It automatically returned to being fully upright! :rocker: Darn Matco, had to be turned back upright by hand

That's exactly what I was thinking when I saw this video.

Wow talk about retarted. All you have to do is look at the box and you knew that would happen.

jeep450, That would be "retarded". A "tart" is a snack, so if 2 were made it would be "retarted"..j/k

That has to be the most lame test I have ever seen. The real test that means anyting in the real world is resale value after 1 to 3 years of ownership (or more). I doubt Douche Bag Matco would post those "test" results.

Im not gonna be driving a toolbox down the road. Why would they waste the money to crash test it?

Seems pointless. I cant afford either of em!

I will not be doing that to my Classic 78 box anytime soon.

It is, however, strong enough on the bottom drawer to hold my fat *** when I'm on lunch break. Makes a handy seat!

LOL what a lame way to push a product. I guess they should also test how well it floats or cooks breakfast...or offer toolbox crash insurance?

Also, am I blind or did the Matco box appear "not square" after it was dropped? They really didn't zoom in on the gap there  ..they just checked off their little check boxes and moved on.

"just becuase you can do it, doesnt mean you should do it."

Not going to lie, i wouldn't even remotely consider this test into my purchase, if my toolbox is that high up in the air, somebodys gonna get there knee caps broken.

This test is about as useless as the ratcheting wrench test they did. What a crock. They never even show the left side of the box when they're doing their "post drop" measurements to show the scratches. Probably a different box.

I guess next time I get the urge to drop my Snap-On box from 10 feet in the air I better think twice. Who's buying into this ****?

If anyone here is considering buying a box from your Matco dealer till him if he demonstrates this test for you and the box comes away unscathed, you'll buy it. Lets see how confident he is.

Snap On does the same idiotic demonstrations(Biased I might add). They pull a SO box with little force from the sides, then they put all there competitors against ten-fold the amount of force, and say, "look how good SO held up." SO is the worst when it comes to these stupid demonstrations. Look at the stupid picture of the truck parked on top of a bunch of SO boxes. What the hell does that prove? They boxes cost more than the truck?

Shame to destroy either of those nice tool boxes just for some nonsensical result that means nothing to anybody. I would have been more likely to buy a Matco box if they had done something impressive like donate those cabs to an underprivileged tech student somewhere.

Marketing people are the bottom of the barrel imho, I wonder how much time they spent and how deeply they went, looking for a performance test to put their box on top? Looks like it took a lot of effort to find one, judging by how obscure this one is.

I always wonder on these tests if the company that is made to look better if they havent gone in and done extra 'stuff' to make the product magically work better.

Both brands do similar propaganda videos/tests, both also make excellent tool boxes.

I'm absolutely thrilled with both brands as far as tool boxes go.

I always wonder how many times these tests didn't work out in the companies favour and they kind of...

I want a Matco box way more than I want a snap-on, there is just something about them. Not really sure what it is. I have been eyeing 41F22R, I want it in white and they don't have that to choose from on the website. Might have to see if I can find a dealer and see what he can get me.

I was going to say that.. This is really stupid anyway, doesn't prove anything. The should load each drawer of identical boxes with the maximum capacity per drawer and put them on something that skates them like crazy.. See which one holds up best.

Of course they do. You ever seen a hamburger on a billboard? It is not edible because its either plastic or sprayed with inedible substances. It is the same concept.

It's suppose to show it can support the weight of the truck duh. I think it's a hell of a lot better marketing wise than dropping a toolbox on the ground.
