Nice! I still remember the day back in '09 you had your first group buy that I got in on. I can't imagine where I would be without it.

How many folks use the max capacity routinely? I have a 2010 Land Rover LR4 which comes in at a hefty 5800 lbs. and a Discovery the weighs in at 5000 lbs.

I know the max capacity is 6k but with these two vehicles that is pushing it right to the limit...

Most of the time I will be lifting a 911 that checks in at 2400 lbs. so no issues there.

I just want to know that I can be confident wrenching on these vehicles without stressing the unit, concrete mounting points etc.

Anyone?

I would love to get one at a great price!!!

Funny, I have a 997 and will be getting my new LR4 delivered next month.

I rather have more margin personally, but I am sure it would be fine. I'm installing a Bendpak XPR-10A next spring.

I have 3 VW Phaeton in my family..2 of which are my own. They weigh in around 5300-5400 and I've had the lift since the initial group buy.

No worries.

Subscribed. I need to look into the fasteners a bit more to see if it's doable to have multiple locations for this lift. I'd like to have an option to put it in my garage, or in the driveway depending on what I'm working on and how long I'll be working on it. I do other work in my shop daily so I can't really have a car torn apart on the lift for more than a day without getting in the way.

I need to see if the fasteners "stick up" from the floor and take nuts to tighten them down, or if they are female inserts that take bolts (and therefore leave the floor flat when not used). If they are female inserts, they won't effect me when clearing snow as long as I put some button head bolts in them when not used. If they are studs, it won't work.

The video and photos of installations suggest that these are mounted to expanded bolt threaded inserts in the floor, so if you can get extra mounts, you should be able to put them wherever you want- and that would be my plan as well.

This guy has done what you're wanting to do. Here's real time setup.

They come with the Wej-it flush-mount anchor bolts, but more can be ordered if you need to set the MaxJax up in two separate spots.

They are the "female inserts that take bolts" kind that leave the floor flat when unbolted.

Definitely in if the price is right. I just missed a barely used one on CL. I've been looking for another group buy ever since. The sooner the better!

The main thing that concerns me is that I don't know if my concrete can handle it or not. It may not be thick enough or have the proper stability. I'd hate to have to tear up my garage concrete and rebuild it, just to get a lift. Maybe I'll look into that scissor lift more.

Me too. Judging by the condition of my driveway and the age of my house I have to assume my slab's not up to par. has anyone done the calculations with regard to spreading the load with a larger steel baseplate?

I was wondering can you mount one post right up against one side of of the garage or do you need to give space from the edge of the slab?

Mine is pretty much up against my wall.

There is a distance in the instructions for how far from the edge of the slab, but I don't remember what that was.

I was wondering about the baseplate idea also, maybe to put a piece that is 3' x 3' or something and then to permanently leave that mounted to the floor and then after to mount the maxjax over top of that. Call me paranoid :dunno:

Follow the stated specs required for install and all will be well. Try to cheat your way around them and all bets are off. If you are worried, then why not do it right? Doesn't make sense..

So guys answer me this please. Is it only me that's bothered by the fact the OP hasn't posted in this thread for a week. Call me skeptical, but things like that bug me.

Your are joking right?

He said this is just a heads up post about a group buy MONTHS from now.

Or, you could buy from Costco starting Sunday for $1,999, and get Costco's forever no-questions-asked return policy.

I'm hoping that with as much interest as there appears to be for this GB, they will surely do better than $1999
