I noticed the Menards Day Sale ad is good for 2 weeks and ends March 6th. Isn't it typically when an ad last 2 weeks then an 11% off sale follows it? If that is the case, there may be the potential for the 11% rebate sale starting on March 7th, which would overlap the 72" cabinet sale (which goes to the 13th). I may wait till the 7th just to see what follows up the Menards Day Sale ad. The March To Savings add overlaps the Menards Day Sale and is also 2 weeks long, so it may not occur until after the March To Savings ad is up. Thoughts?

Usually the 11% off follows when an ad ends on Saturday rather than Sunday.

No relationship. There are lots of 2+ week ads followed up by more ads.

As SS said, if it ends on a Saturday, that means an 11% follows. They have not run the 11% overlapping with a regular ad for years IIRC.

Can anyone tell me if the deep drawers on the Masterforce 72 are punched for another set of slides or if extra slides can be added? I would like to increase the capacity of the drawers by using two pair of slides per drawer. 100 lbs per drawer seems to be a little light. Also , has anyone tried to get replacement drawers? to change the confguration, i would like put two smaller drawers in the lower right section.

I dont have a 72, but on the 46 masterforce I have, the drawers were punched for more slides. I ended up getting another set for one of the midsize drawers, not sure if really needed or not but put all the grinders and cutters in there and it seems heavy. Before and after the extra slides, the drawer fells the same in and out.

All drawers that are tall enough either have double glides or slots to add them later.

Best $1000 box out there hands down.

Yea tell me about it. I so screwed up buying the 46 inch, running out of room so bought the 27 inch. Ran out of room and bought a Performax intermediate. Should have just bit the bullet and bought the 72 in the first place.

Would love to sell the two I got and buy a 72 if anybody is interested in a black 46 inch and black 27 inch.

Yes......I feel your pain. I bought (2) 46 inch thinking that would be plenty.

End up with (2) of the 72 inch also....
I would love to sell the 46 inch and get another 72 inch one.

2nd best deal is the 56 inch for $550 I think..... But the 72" is so tall and wide, it is awsome.

I will trade you a black 46 and 27 for two blue 46's???

Is the 72 taller than the 46 or 56? That might not work in the long run for me if it is. I plan on putting them underneath a pallet rack shelf (also from menards) and making a workbench out of it. I got enough room to work with to fit two 46's under.

Well shucks, that ain't gonna work, would be awfully tall for a workbench with the 72 underneath a pallet rack shelf. Back to the drawing board I guess. Thank you for measuring. Maybe the double 46's is the way to go. Now I just need to find somebody that wants a 27...

Does the stainless top come with an MDF core or something to sit on top of the tool box?

I will let you know when I open it when at home. Good idea! If it doesn't have it I'll cut out some drawer liner and place it underneath it.

So I picked it up tonight says it was 70 pounds obviously it's not all stainless. To answer your question it does have that material you are talking about. Also I took a picture of the other tips that are available for the 72 and the 56

Not the most exciting thing but the eklind 7pc metric and sae hex key sets are on sale for $1.99 and buy 1 get 1 free. I picked up a couple of each just because I always seem to lose the small ones. And USA to boot.

Back in the good old days those were a pretty common "free after rebate" item, albeit with a low limit. I have always considered eklind as good as anyone for hex keys. I use those short ones to cut off and replace twisted bits in sockets. Good stuff, great price.

Couple new deals at Menards in recent ads. Free after rebate ToolShop utility knife, you can get 2. Not bad at all. Still have 12 pack of Shasta sodas for $2.50 each, not bad at all. We prefer Shasta from Menards as the diet uses Splenda, not that nasty Aspartame/Nutrasweet stuff that gives me a headache. Progresso veggie soups 9 for $10.

Knipex all on sale. 10" Cobra a great deal. Check it out and post what catches your eye for others to consider too! - Paul

I refuse to buy food at menards. It just seems wrong, Lola. Those utility knives are great. They can't take heavy stuff like shingles, but normal usage they are remarkably convenient. They also have some really cheap sanding sponges, although I can't say anything for quality since I haven't used that brand.

How can they be so cheap? Are they junk? We'll see, I guess.

Well, I'd much rather buy it from Menards than say Walmart for three good reasons:

1. Walmart needs more competition for sure.
2. Menards is cheaper than Walmart when stuff is on sale.
3. Menards carries some stuff Walmart doesn't.

For those without a Menards, food stuff occupies like 6 aisles, about 20 feet long each. Not much. But we buy stuff all the time in those aisles. - Paul

Thanks for the correction .......I go to the Marshell MN store ad. They had it wrong on the T shirts also. I will have to check my reciept.

I can pickup stuff on the Friday before the sale starts around here.

11% returns... again, March 27 through April 2. I hate this sale unless I happen to be in the middle of a big project.

Been looking forward to this. Mainly because there's a Ridgid air mover at Home Depot that I've been eyeing up and would to get the HD 11% match

If they still match it, the last time they did the match was during the time when their "we do not match competitor coupons" policy went into place.

Except for the fact that menards corporate policies make walmart look like a church. I have much less guilt shopping at Walmart than Menards. (both are rare)
