I'm really surprised GJ sold so many of these for them. The Zoro + Miller rebates deal seems like a much better option. Pay $904 during a Zoro 30% off, get a $275 spool gun for free. You're effectively at $625. You could send in the $200 rebate and then you're at $425. Or buy $400 of accessories and when the rebate comes you've got $400 of stuff for free?

The Hypertherm on the other hand is a steal if it's real.

Who knows when Zoro might have another sale. By then the spool gun rebate could be gone, it's only valid until July 31. Here in NY we have to pay sales tax too.

I went ahead with the 20% off coupon Zoro had for father's day. I considered this deal, but the international shipping and slightly sketchy-ness deterred me. Granted I need to sell the spool guns to come out where I want to be, but I based it on getting $150 out of them which I think I can do.

I hope the guys that went for this deal get their welders. It's a nice price without the hassle I am going to have to deal with.

Good morning, I just got off the phone with pay pal again this morning. This is 100% a scam. They show bogus tracking numbers and have frozen his pay pal account.pay pal opened a claim on my behalf this morning even though my expected delivery date's last day is July 6th.he has cut off all communication with ebay requests as well as pay pals requests. They told me now if he doesn't respond with in 10 days I will be fully refunded my 1,000 on the 11th day. (Thought I had bought a hypertherm). I hope this works out for all of us in the long run.

I will be really interested in seeing what gets delivered to those of us who have what appear to be real packages being delivered in the next day or two.

Call 1-888-221-1161 verify your account with automated system and ask to speak to dispute and claims dept. you can then tell them about the transaction in question, I told them about the forum and all who have been scammed they checked sellers pp acct and said yep there's defiantly a problem. I also gave them my tracking number and they said, yep it's a bogus tracking number. And opened a claim for me

How did they know it was a bogus tracking number? They're PP not FedEx.

With only having 3 posts. 2 of which on this one page, how do we know your not in on it as well and getting tons of people to flood PP with calls would delay them in investigating. Further helping out the getaway :)

Also is there any definite proof that this is a scam? I'm not getting my hopes up that it's not, despite having purchased a welder, but there's no solid proof indicating either way.

Maybe if enough people call Zoro and tell them there has been a huge scam on ebay for these welders and there are 50 people on GJ would want a flash sale before the end of July, they can make it happen.

Just got off the phone with them, they have the money on hold on the seller's account. She said that if he doesn't have enough funds in his account, it will put him in the negative (not sure how true that really is). I had filed an inquiry a few days back online and was able to escalate it over the phone, which she informed me will speed up the refund process.

The pp agent after seeing the problems with the sellers account typed in the tracking number provided on my account and said it was fraudulent as well.just going off what the dude told me.. I'm just passing along the information I've been told directly from paypal not stirring the pot I assure you I would much rather have gotten the hypertherm in the mail than deal with this headache

Will this person be caught? Surely he'd be easy to find... all the stuff he bought is being shipped to a house somewhere...

I talked to PP and they said there were a ton of claims against him. i put in a claim. Then i talked to fedex and gave them the tracking number. they confirmed the package only weighs .2 pounds and not 76lbs. so i turned the delivery off right there. should get refused at next scan and sent back to seller. PP said once the package is refused they would take care of it.

So does FedEx verify weight at some point? I thought someone mentioned that they don't until final delivery and collect on the balance then.

More than likely the account was hacked after a few legitimate welders were sold. The paypal address and mailing address were probably changed to someone from another country. It will be hard to track them down let alone prosecute them.

Well ****! I was really thinking this would pan out, but I'm also on hold with Pay pal now and they're getting me a dispute number for reference.

I sure wanted to get in on these before Miller stopped their build with blue promo, so maybe Zoro will offer another 30% sale before the end of July.

I thought I would also add that the rep from Pay pal said I would be fully refunded, whether the "seller" still had funds in his account or not, and if he didn't then Pay pal would refund my money at the end of my 10-day wait.

PayPal actually said that that specific PayPal account (sellers) was in great standing and would be considered one of their best accounts up until these complaints. So I would think it should be pretty obvious whether or not it was compromised.

Not sure if it's because I have a business account, but I was connected to someone who spoke PERFECT English and he said that based on the history, they are not convinced it's fraud, but at first glance it would look like it. I'm going to wait a few days to see if I hear back. It is still well within the delivery timeframe, submitting a request now would be unfair if by a small chance this is legitimate, and I'd rather have my item.

Submit a claim based on circumstantial evidence, get a refund, have a working welder show up at your door. Best of both worlds...

I am on chat with FedEx now trying to sort my delivery out for the day, apparently someone has to sign for the package and I was never told that, or I would have sent it to me at work and not my house.

And the nice lady on chat will not let me redirect it, so I have to drive the 45 miles to the facility to try and pick up the package. She said it is 70.0 lb, although could not confirm that was actual weight vs inputted weight.

I just opened a case calling the 1-800 number that was listed a few comments back. Ebay said he has up until the 25th to respond or ship my welder (we all know that's not going to happen) on the 25th i'll be able to escalate it to a claim then ebay will refund the money 24-48hrs later.

Edit- Opened my case since my tracking number has not worked for almost a week. I'm 100% sure this was a scam. I'm sorry for starting this thread and it all boils down to one thing- if it's too good to be true it most likely is.
