This morning, I ordered one pallet (450 sf.) of Centipede Sod to cover the dirt work behind the shop. Picking it up tomorrow morning. Wife will help me lay it down. :)

How deep is the pond?
When it was dug, ~18'-20' in the center. It was dug to acquire soil to build a pad for the house foundation. If we'd seen the property before the house was being built, we'd have asked the contractor to not dig the pond and haul in dirt from another source. I'm sure it's not that deep now. I moved and spread >150 yards of fill dirt in the back yard, to raise the land elevation for the shop and it rained almost every time afterward. I know for a fact some of the fill dirt was carried into the pond by rain water. Also, I dumped broken concrete and bricks into it. Wife and I want to fill at least half of the pond.

Found some time yesterday to cut, frame and trim a hole in the shop's rear wall for the a/c unit.
IMG_5465.jpg

It's a 35K BTU unit with a heat strip. The woodworking/craft room is 10' x 20'. The a/c is five time what is needed to cool the square footage, but hey, it was FREE. (y)
IMG_5464.jpg

Next up is to insulate the walls.

I began installing the rafters and purlins for the lean-to this week. This lean-to is 10'x20'. The purlins will be approximately 5' apart. I'll pick up two more material next week, after I receive my Gubmint Check. ;)

IMG_5572.jpg

I top of the support posts need to be whacked off.

All connecting points are screwed and welded. I wire brushed and primed any bare material. The frame will be painted black.

Ran conduit and pulled wire for the south awning fans and LED light switched receptacle. Installed the fans to check out the operation. I'll remove the fan when to install the sheet metal ceiling panels.
IMG_5589.jpg

Mid-afternoon, I painted the lean-to framework.
Also installed a brace to support the a/c unit.

The daily high temp finally fell below 100°, so I began adding framework to the lean-to.
This is the north side. The opening (6' x 7') to the right is for an access door.
IMG_5804.jpg

Going to try and add more framing tomorrow, then install the exterior sheeting on this side.

A few sheets installed. (y)
All I have to work with are cut-off/scrapes/leftovers. They have a few scratches and dirt stains, but I'll Scotch Bright these areas and touch up with color-match paint. It's not like I'm building the Taj Mahal. :)
The nearest location to purchase the correct color (proprietary) sheets are Dallas, Tx. and Corinth, Ms. and I'm not driving there for a few more sheets.

Ceiling insulation installed last week.
Drywall installed this week, along with the first coat of mud to the joints.
I installed the ceiling-to-wall trim boards. Going to knock down the high spots of mud on the joints and apply another coat. Need the apply caulking to the trim, then prime and paint.

I spent 10 days down with very painful Sciatica, so not much nothing was done in that time. After meds were prescribed by my PCP, I have now gotten some relief. :)

Yesterday, my wife helped with painting in the woodworking/craft room.
Below, she is applying the first coat of Sherwin Williams Alabaster.
IMG_6256.jpg

First coat done.
She's a fast painter. (y)
IMG_6258.jpg

I was able to assemble one of two wall cabinets for that room.
IMG_6260.jpg

She is out in the shop as I type this, applying the second coat of paint. She informed me that we need a third gallon to finish.
In a few minutes, I'll drive down to the paint store for more.

My wife applied the second coat to the ceiling and walls this morning.
I assembled the second wall cabinet, and we installed it late afternoon.
IMG_6263.jpg

This evening, I placed the rolling cabinet against the opposite wall and attached the bench-top band saw and drill press.
IMG_6266.jpg

As you can see, I began placing levels, straight-edges and speed squares on the wall.
IMG_6267.jpg

That was it for today.

Friday:
In keeping with the rustic look, I used a few pieces of recycled fence board to make a door, to hide the breaker panel.
IMG_6275.jpg

Saturday:
I bought some lumber ($$ o_O) to build a shelving unit, to attach to one of the walls in the woodworking/craft room.
I primed the shelves. After a few hours of drying time, I put the first coat of Light Gray paint on them.
Might do the second coat tomorrow. Then when it's dry, get the wife's help to install it.
IMG_6272.jpg

Yesterday:
LED ceiling lights and a retractable power cord installed on one side of the room.
IMG_6273.jpg

LED ceiling lights install on the opposite side.

Just got caught up on your build.....looks great. Very nice work on the awnings and the craft room looks awesome!
Thanks. (y)

Looking good! What else is going on that wall with the 2 upper cabinets?
Thanks.
I'll install a flip-up door cabinet between those two.
cabinet.7.png

Then maybe mount a shelf that will run between the two vertical double-door cabinets.
copy flip-up.png

I'm not sure when all this will happen. It's a standstill for now. :(

I'm having back/right leg issues at the moment. Sciatica is killing me right now. I visited an Orthopedic Dr. on Wednesday. I was given a prescription of pain meds (Gabapentin). He set up an appointment for me to visit a Pain Medicine Specialist to run test and imaging on my lower back. I hope something can be done, as I'm almost at the end of this shop project and badly need to complete it.

I don't know if this will help but I had the same pain issues you are describing. I was sleeping on a ice pack every night just to be able to somewhat function. Went to several doctors and had scans and such done and was told they couldn't help and prescribed lidocaine patches which did help with the pain.

I was in my early 40's at the time and didn't want to live like that. On a whim I called my chiropractor who is also a friend to see if he could think of anything. In ten minutes he had figured out my hips were out of place on popped them back in. Instant relief. I've had to go back several times over the years to have it done again and have found if I ice the area right before I go in it's alot less painful and goes back in place easier.

It's easy to check your hips. Lay flat on the floor, put your right hand behind your back and raise your right leg. Have someone try to push your leg down, if their's no resistance your hip is out.

Good luck!!!

It's been ~10 days since I posted.
The pain in my lower back and right leg progressively worsened, so my wife drove me to the ER on the 21st. The NP attending to my complaint checked me over and concluded that I most likely had a herniated disc, but an MRI would confirm that. I was given an injection of Morphine and Steroids; and he ordered an MRI. He also prescribed meds containing Hydrocodone/Acetaminophen (5-325mg) pain meds. I was only given a few tables, so they didn't last long. o_O OUCH.......

I followed up with my PCP when I ran out of pain meds and was prescribed Tramadol. ;)

The MRI was done on the 25th, then was sent to a Spine Specialist on the 29th. The Spine Specialist ordered more precise X-Rays while I was there. He viewed the X-Rays and the MRI; and confirmed a herniated disc, along with other issues, Scoliosis to be one. He ordered an MRI of my neck. He seems to think I have issues there also. DARN! I'm falling apart. He is sending me to a Pain Managment Dr. after the additional MRI.

I can't wait to visit the Pain Management Dr. for an injection, to hopefully relieve my pain.

Needless to say, nothing has been done in the shop since then. :(

I hope you do too. I have a screwed up shoulder with a lot of previous damage. Trying to work through the pain and also tried a pain clinic. Worked for about two days and I’m back on my own. Doctors say it’s arthritis but I know better.
Man! I hope you can find a way to get your shoulder fixed up.

The injection procedure went well and the pain in my back subsided by the mid-afternoon. I was walking up and down the driveway without the use of my cane. I still have some pinching/pulling in my right leg, which is my sciatic nerve. Dr. said the pain will continues to gradually subside, as the injected meds will takes about 2 weeks for their full effect.

I have a hankering to catch up with working on/in the shop, but Dr. said to take it easy and do not lift anything. Wife is watching over me to make so of that. ;)

Eight days later and things are improving with my back. I'm getting around allot easier and have retired the cane. :) Only doing light work until the Dr. and my back agrees.

I've been doing light duty work on a used camper shell (top) for my truck that I recently purchased. It's an A.R.E. Commercial DCU top with no windows. I'm installing windows on the front and rear of the camper. It had cabinets mounted on both sides. I removed them to be able to gain access to the bed from the side doors. (y)
IMG_6405.jpg

Saturday, I modified the inner 1"x1" aluminum framework to accept an 18"x 48" window.
IMG_6407.jpg

Yesterday, I fabricated an aluminum frame to accept the Plexiglas window and installed them onto the camper top.
IMG_6414.jpg

Maybe some time this week, I'll try to get my son and neighbor to lift it onto my truck bed, so I can clamp it in place.
-------

Sometime this afternoon or tomorrow, my wife and I will begin a project, making a wooden framework to hide the legs of the recently purchased Double Twin adjustable mattress bases.
abed.png

The wood frame will connect to the King headboard that she and I build back in 2016.
2_orig.jpg

Below is a 2016 photo of the King headboard attached to a standard metal bedframe.
3_orig.jpg

I'll post pics during the project.
