Those must be the new clear batteries :)

That does sound like a good deal without having to deal with ebay, shipping, etc, even if the price might be same/slightly lower on ebay for what you got.

:spit: I was too excited to leave them in the package! Plus I wasn't sure if this was even worth posting.
I also have my wife's car in pieces and my old impact quit. Turning bolts in the old-fashioned way is clearly not for me, so I wanted to make sure I had batteries ready to go when my new impact shows up today...

You will be able to put each lug nut off and on 100 times with the 9ah battery. So if you have 20 lugs, that is 2000 times. Test it and let us know the actual number for you.

Those were old promo 9.0 starter packs.. Milwaukee has made a BIG effort to try and get free 9.0's out there when they started selling their OPE stuff.. not many of those promo packs hanging around.

I just saw a full shipper in a top rack the other day. they might be re-doing it. the sawzall/circ saw + free 9ah came back this holiday.

Does anyone have any idea if there will be any Milwaukee string trimmer combo deals again this spring? Or if there are any going on now?

question... what would you consider a "deal" on say a 3.0, 4.0 and 5.0 batter for m18? and what about a 2.0 and 3.0 for m12?

i would like to avoid ebay if possible, because it seems the only great deals i come across are knock offs, and i'd like genuine.

not looking for a once in a lifetime deal on batteries, just for example if 59 bucks is normal for say a 4 or 5 amp m18, what would be a decent deal? 40? 45? as i expand my milwaukee collection i'm starting to find the need for more batteries lol.... all mine have come with the kits so far, but i'm starting to move into bare tools. thanks in advance

I'd say $75-80, with $65 would be a good deal on a 5ah. I won't pay more than $65 myself, but I get them out of kits a lot of times and sell the tool. If you are going to bare tools, look more for kits. There are a ton of kits with free tools on the tools sites now.

I am surprised though how many people talk about knock offs on eBay. They are there, but I've bought tons and only once had a non-genuine battery & I had a good idea it was going to be. I look at 3 things. 1) The picture. It is easy to see if the picture represents a genuine Milwaukee battery. 2) if the word "replacement for" 3) feedback. Usually they go hand and hand. Also if it is mis-represented & you pay with PayPal, you are protected.
Not your question, but I've bought a lot of batteries on eBay and been quite happy. Especially with coupons, as they often for around the price 5ah go for, but then make the price attractive.

M18 5.0 $60, 4.0 $50, 3.0 $40.
M12 2.0 $25, XC 3.0 $35, XC 4.0 $45. If you meant compact 3.0, no deals really on them.

i agree. most of the batteries i have came from ebay. if you go that way, you will find some sellers have a bunch on offer. i bought a lot of them last year, and found that if they have a bunch, they are often willing to deal on multiple batteries at once. they save a bunch on shipping, and effort.

good luck. no matter where you get them, check this out for when they were made:

Any good deals on bare drills? Or combos with a drill/battery. Recently took my drill apart to fix the 2nd speed and well it didn’t go back together. Found a brushless still no hammer action with the slim battery for 100$ at farm fleet but I think hammer would be a nice feature.

Still waiting for them to get back down to the sale prices when they first came out. Then I’ll buy some more!

Off topic, but I picked up a fuel M12 hackzall a few weeks ago. This thing will replace my regular hackzall 90% of the time. It's incredible.

Is the other 10% of the time due to it being larger in size than the regular Hackzall? Otherwise, I'd say it is better than the regular one 100% of the time.

Decent deal: Ebay Item 292303698620
$232 for the 9ah batt, charger, 7 1/4" Fuel Saw.
Even better if you use an Ebay code.

Got one at Home Depot for $249 with a HD matching the Menards 11% off to make it $220!

UPDATE:
HD Also gave me the 10% Military Discount on top of the matching (online!) the Menards 11% off.

Before taxes ended up as $199.44 when I picked it up Mar 2

That's pretty good. This saw chews through soft wood like butter. Now I want the 6.5" but baretool price is nuts.

If you already have the 7 1/4" Fuel saw, why would you want the older 6 1/2" model?

I wanted that too at one point, mainly based on blade location. Then I realized one would be wasting so much $ on 6-1/2" blades, and not have that wide of a selection. Now that was 2-3 years ago, and just recently Diablo announced they will be producing a lot more 6-1/2" blades, which should help with pricing & availability.

I have the 7-1/4, and unless I saw the 6 for under $80 new, I wouldn't spend the money. Over tine, it will cost more & isn't going to be as efficient as the 7-1/4

I concur w/ "2manytools". I'm used to blade-left saws & I wanted the smaller Fuel - plunge cuts might be better also.
Yep, the 6.5 Fuel bare saw price is rediculous considering the 7.25" w/ 9ah is $250 or less. Would be sweet if you could get either in the kit.
Edit: the 6.5 probably isn't much lighter & obviously cuts less for each blade rotation.

I have the 6.5" and it's too large and heavy for 1x and 2x,

I just got the little Fuel 5-3/8" for 1x and 2x (which is pretty much everything I do around here: i.e. shelves, dunnage, temp. paint booth, etc)

It would be preferred to sell the 6.5" and get the 7.25", but the wrong side blade kills it for me. I'm hoping they will get a left side blade Fuel 7.25" in the future...

(I say the 6.5" is too large and heavy, b/c we are now spoiled with the lightweight 5-3/8". I grew up with 77s, Bigfoot, and the Beam Saw, so I know what heavy really is. Now they sit in the drawer since I no longer wear bags. )

I was going to ask about that because I have the 6.5 and love it and the words "big" and "heavy" never come to mind when thinking about that saw.

I did however test its limits a few months back trying to trim the end off of a 2.5" thick Ash BB bench top. I won't say it couldn't do it but it was struggling. Ended up pulling out my old corded 7.25 Milwaukee. Glad I didn't get rid of it's big brother which I had considered doing.

I may still do that because I have always hated saws with blades on the right and now that I have my Milwaukee 6.5, I hate my old one that much more. Been half heartedly looking around for one of those older PC saws with the left sided blade and dust chute.

Why is the Fuel model so much larger? The advantage of the M12 is smaller size and weight. I've been looking for a Hackzall but if I don't get the regular M12 I'd rather just get the M18 Fuel. The M12 Fuel seems like an un-needed middle ground.

Well the m12 fuel hackzall has been out for 2 or so, where as the M18 fuel just came out. Some people just stick with m12 if they never get into anything big, like service techs. No reason to get the M18 and end up with a different battery. Same goes if you are more a heavy duty person, but need something smaller & nimble, you would end up getting the M18 fuel because you don't want to deal with m12 batteries.

Both are very close in specs, but now everyone can get a great fuel hackzall in either platform. I'm not going to run for an M18 fuel, as I have the m12, and I'm sure the opposite is also true

Agree with 2manytools, but also want to add that the M18 Fuel hackzall is the uneeded middle ground for me as I use the m12 fuel for smaller stuff and if I need to do more, I just jump straight to the full size M18 fuel sawzall.

The m12 fuel is more powerful, longer stroke length, and better battery life than the non fuel. I believe it is bigger simply because of the added power and stroke length.

I just picked up a m12 fuel hackzall, it's amazing. It's perfect size and weight as far as I'm concerned.

After reading this thread I ordered the M12 Fuel 5 3/8" saw.
Really don't have much use for anything larger these days.
Love this site.
