Bobby, I am looking for belting material to be used as a tack strip to use in an old convertible top I am restoring. It was recommended to me to use old conveyor belt as this has the best holding strength. Would you have any ideas where I might find some thing like that? I was wondering if you might have an old belt from your saw that you might want to sell. Although I need it to be about 1/2" thick. by approx. 5/8ths wide. Total length (in sections is OK). Fan belts could work too but would need to be flat not v style. Just checking with someone who might know. Thanks!
BB: it looks like you might want to make another one for your minister/preacher cause it has that look.
very nice work!!

My stand for the One Arm Bandit. Only one coat of varnish but a heavy one applied in the perfect temperature to keep it from running and warming up in time to blend all the brush strokes. I believe it will be the only coat. Have to wait though got some huge logs to get today. May not even fit on the mill.
This is a great job!![]()

BB: so there was a time in your life when your bride would stand still while you carved or sculpted something to look like her?
To get your thread back to the PG version how about a few pictures of your one arm bandit (i'm assuming slot machine) cause i'm guessing it's got a lot of bling on it or did you post pictures of it that I missed?
I hope you survived putting those big logs on your mill or are you still working on getting them up there?
Well done! That machine is great. It makes for a nice presentation. We have a cool little "penny smoke" machine that needs a treatment like this. You've provided inspiration to me to possibly pursue a project like this. Not sure if I thank you or cuss you! I have too many projects already! I'll try to dig up a photo of it.

Bobby
That sure is a nice stand for the bandit.

You need to grab Ginny and come to Sp. Cal for some R&R while your pride is recovering from loosing the last fight.
Did you get a black eye as well as the scratch on the nose???
Well of course She is correct. I stand corrected. You know how to keep the peace!BB: good to see you found a nice spot for your one arm bandit. I'm not a fan of redoing stuff either, but I guess even though we try our best to keep up with everything around the property it's hard to fight bugs, wet weather, and time and stuff just doesn't last forever.
looks like you are cutting all the rot out and then doing your best to make sure the dirt and bugs and weather don't damage it so you'll have to fix it again. you might not survive another fight with the door if you're 100 years old.
cheers and have a great weekend.
BB: thanks for posting up your cement block fix cause my daughter and son in law bought a home that has a garage that has wood to the cement at ground level that is not a good idea or plan. it's rotten and your cement block fix looks like something I can show them how to do so they can learn to fix stuff instead of just writing big checks.
hope you have a great weekend.
BB: thanks for the reminder and I’m sure I’ll be helping them do their roof doesn’t fall.
I couldn’t tell exactly how you are connecting the 2 bys to the cement blocks. J bolts or something else?
Seattle drizzle seems to be never ending here and hope your sunny weather and dry days are nicer.
