Bobby,

You need whats called a Signature line.

If you look up the top of the page under the GJ logo you will see

User CP ( control panel ) click on that and it brings up a menu on the left as it opens.

Settings & Options

Add what you want to the text box and save...

I trust this helps..

Bobby, do as 1/2 cup said but first right click on your thread and choose "copy link" then in your sig. line right click and choose "paste" This should give us all a link to your thread at the bottom of every post like the rest of us have. And if you still have a problem, speak up and we'll get it done for you even if we have to hit up one of the Mods to help.

I learned years ago that you can learn something from anyone, not just the "experts". Everyone has something to give and something to learn.

In this case however, I love getting 1/2 advice.

A friend once told me years ago, in response to me accusing him of being an expert, that "an X is a has been and a spurt is a drip under pressure." He asked that I not insult him again. I was a kid then and only half understood what he meant. He turned out to be a mentor! Bobby

Went to the doctor to get my cast cut off and refit as it was causing some problems. He decided to put me in a boot but not allow me to take it off to sleep until he sees my x-ray. I am still in a lot of pain but feel more human and this thing is adjustable. Best part is I can sit and put my foot on the floor. Who knows, maybe my wife will start letting me build a carburetor or two :)

Actually my wife has been trying to sweep me under the rug for a while. I wonder who gave her that idea? :headscrat She's even talking about getting an electric broom for Christmas. :rocker:

Raining here and 57 degrees. Don't let anyone tell you plates and screws can't forecast the weather! Going to light my wood stove. I used to make snow balls with my bare hands in weather much colder than this? Wonder if there's a way to put strip heaters on this hardware? Good news; I can soak my foot in hot water! Looking forward to having something to show you all in the not so distant future. Bobby

Now you've done it. Andy is going to be consumed with how he'll incorporate his "electric broom" making machine. And I'll bet he will do it.:dunno:

Glad to hear you're "heel"ing up Bobby. You be back to keeping a "step" ahead of the rest of us soon.:bounce:

Thought I would use my down time to catch everyone up on some of the tools I have picked up for the Model A Shop garage. I hope to not repeat something I have already posted. This is a vintage speedometer cable maker. I got it with lots of different ends and the basic drive springs and shields. Marked A/C it came as a package at an auction. Bobby

And speedometer cables have gone the way of vacuum advance. They are still cheap and available but with new cars not using them they will soon be hard to come by.

I'm thinking an electric broom could be a nice corn broom with a built in cattle prod. 30,000 volts to get the husband off his duff.

This item came from a lawn mower dealership that was auctioning off the tools. I had been an automotive repair shop back in the day then a generator rebuild shop. They never let go of the tools. One family owned it all. You should see the stuff I missed out on.

I wish I could get off my duff and do something constructive.

Bobby, that's a fantastic piece of gear..

Dealers in their day did the lot a far cry from now a days.

Thanks 1/2 Got some more pictures I took before the "break" but had to find them. Will post soon. Bobby

I'd like to see that thing in action. So please show us how it works. You'd think I'd seen one before but I have not.

This machine came from an Indian motorcycle shop that had been in business since WWII. It was from the collection of things that the owners son kept after his dad closed shop and died some years later. It is air operated for pressure and hand cranked. Used to knurl the pistons on any engine, in order to extend the life and take the slap out of skirts when rings were not yet worn to the next size. I works great for the same use on older engines going in cars etc. that do not warrant the costs of full overhaul. Saves me $20 per piston and a two hour round trip into the city when the need arises. Plus it's cool.

Put this jewelers drill press together from three separate purchases and rebuilt. It works great for drilling small holes without breaking drills. It is good and heavy, has a foot pedal, and cost me just over $100 :)

Thought you might like to see the aircraft I took a stunt flight in when I was a younger man. Mostly though, I though someone out there might know where one is that hasn't been restored. It is a WWI Tiger Moth. If you see one please PM me! Thanks Bobby

Great. Are you restoring to original or making a hot rod?

Keeping it original mostly. I will do some performance mods where I can that are period correct or that don't jump out at you to much.

I plan to drive it everyday for my business here in Austin, Texas. It is already converted to 12 volt, and will have turn signals etc.

Where I started....

Been walking in the boot and today I stood and did some scraping on the window paint spatter on the back porch. Got to walk with these things not real tight or the ankle will not flex at all. Tendon, I assume, on the outside stretched a little as my right foot pronates and the boot doesn't. Iced it to be on the safe side and got in the Jacuzzi an hour later and rubbed it down (the ankle.) :lol_hitti Can't wait to see what it feels like tomorrow. Been raining for three days off and on and boy I sure can tell. Roof leaking from hurricane damage and the Ins. is fighting to pay nothing. Read the fine print!! Going to get some estimates over the next few days. It kills me to think about paying someone to do a crappier job than I could do myself if I had two feet.

Bobby, didn't you get the letter from your insurance company when they raised your premium? The signature should have been a clue "We upped our income, now up yours!"

Sometimes you have to do the smart thing and part with some money.

Before one of the half-dozen hurricanes came through here ten+ years ago, I was standing on an upper rung of my extension ladder that was leaning against the palm tree I was about to trim (17-foot pole saw wouldn't reach). I was holding my electric chainsaw in my right hand about to start cutting when I realized I wouldn't be holding on to anything but the chainsaw. Just then a beat-up old pickup truck stopped and three guys got out -- and offered to trim all four palm trees for $40. I told them I couldn't pay less than $50 -- for god's sake did they think I would risk my life for $40? :dunno:

Hard earned money is just tough to let go of; or for that matter money itself when you could have used it for something fun. Isn't that right Andy!

Bob has a unique thread of logic there. But he is right, it is better to hire some jobs done.

Do as I say, not as I do.:willy_nil

I had a tooth pulled yesterday, it went so easy, I was thinking "I could have done that and saved a little money". Told the orthopedic surgeon "I get a discount for an easy job". He stared at me. I told his nurse "I guess bald men pay the full price at a barber" and she laughed. Maybe he did too. I paid full price.

You are right of course. This is why I have three roof estimates coming this week. BTW orthopedic? May have been an intentional (foot in mouth) Freudian slip? :lol_hitti
