Thanks also for that link to Auto-Anything. I was looking for a source for racks similar to Griot's for my seemingly inexhaustible supply of detailing stuff. The cabinetry will indeed be awesome - I'm not sure if I'd have the patience to assemble it all.

I just placed my order for my Saber Cabinets! I ordered them in Silver. I wanted black, but Dean suggested against his black finish. He is redesigning the black, but it won't be available until late next year.

My array is going to be much bigger with a TV in the middle, but it will be something like this:
90” Work Top SS-90 X 2 $355 = $710

4 Drawer Base Cabinet X 2 $395 = $790

That's about 1/5th the cost of the Lista cabinets I was planning at about 75% of the quality. I'm excited! The "Temporary Garage" ver. 2.0 is coming together!

I been looking at cabinets too all over the interweb and was going with Lista till I saw this.
I think the Sauber cabinets look great and you cant beat if for the money.
Please post up a review once you get them and look them over

Luckily, some of it comes assembled!
I've always known I was a little different, but was diagnosed with OCD when I had a meltdown earlier this year. It's what has made me decide to stop doing it all by myself and reach out to others like me. I've been going to a lot of Cars and Coffee events and obviously participating (may too much) in the forums that interest me.
I thought I was superman and tended to look down on others that were more disorganized as inferior. I would now shake your hand and realize everyone is different.

I was about to get racedeck but I will look into swisstrax. I walk a lot in the garage to grab food from the freezer or storage.. And would like the rubber. BUT we do park the car in there and walk on it from car to house with dirty boots with snow/grime so it needs to handle that too.
I like the colors! Only thing I would do differently is mount the can racks behind a sliding panel (like the PAX doors from IKEA but without a cabinet). I don't know if its OCD or clean freak but those racks are dust collectors heheh.

That's good progress. I think everyone has there own level on OCD. I hate being disorganized but with sheer amount of stuff I have its hard to keep it organized. I definitely have a issue with the look of things especially things looking uniform and everything matching.

I got my last two Griot's shelves on Friday and mounted them last night to complete the relocation of the "Detailing Wall." I still need to find something simple and unique to fit down the center of the shelves.
Cabinets should be here Monday or Tuesday. The hard part is going to be working all week to actually pay for them.

I like the old Griot's bottles as well, but I learned the hard way not to drop one. It landed on the bottom edge at an angle and CRACK - a whole chunk broke out of the bottom. One bottle of Speed Shine down the drain. For the products I use a lot, I use either aftermarket bottles or that pump sprayer bottle they sell. GREAT for wheel cleaner.

The Temporary Garage makeover is getting there. I got my cabinets on Tuesday. They arrived safe and sound from Reno, NV in a little over a week. I wasn't home to take delivery. I talked the delivery guy through the directions and told him not to scratch my GT3. He thought it was funny. My wife said he didn't know what to make of my garage.

They are packaged very well. It's going to be months before I get all of this Styrofoam out of the garage.
The pile ended up being even bigger than this. My son and the neighbor girls have been raiding the trash pile to make a tree fort.

The wide side cabinets need to be assembled. It was very self explanatory. The directions are well written. The only thing I did wrong on the first cabinet is mix up the top and bottom. I figured it out and fixed it on the second one. I should probably read the instructions.
The only thing you have to assemble on the drawer cabinets are the handles. It's four simple screws.
I emptied the cabinets and took them down.
These are Geneva cabinets that I got from Griot's several years ago. They were $199 each versus $175 for the Saber and are not even close to the quality.
I used the pallet to set my counter height. With the pallet and counter top, I'm at exactly 37".
I realized it was smarter to have a flat surface to allow the pallet the slide from underneath the cabinets after securing them to the wall. I put four Tap-Cons into each, then pulled the pallet out. Luckily this was a well made pallet and was perfectly level. Before I mounted them to the wall I bolted the three units together with the supplied bolts and nuts. The four corners have pre-drilled holes. They line up squarely on their own without any issues.
I bought 5/16 hex head Tap-Cons. I can never get the 5/16 ones to grab properly. I switched to my trusty 1/4" Phillips head and just used more of them. The wall is coming down before my cabinets do!
I almost bought a new lighter weight Milwaukee set from HD, but they were out of stock. My trusted old Dewalt does well at hammer drilling but weighs a ton trying to drive screws into the wall. Oh well, it got the job done.

I think the selves are rated for 300 lbs. I'll bolt them in once I figure out where I want them.
I mounted the other half, bolting them all together and then securing to the wall using the same pallet. Stupidly, I put the drawers back in the other side forgetting I still needed to mount the counter top.

The stainless steel tops are super heavy duty. They have a plywood core. You need to add some weather stripping to fill the gaps. Dean from Saber, said he made the tops shorter to allow for errors in mounting. I wanted the center joint to be flush, so I used my own thicker stripping. He supplied much thinner stuff.
As expected, the wood core tops are a tad warped but pulled tight when secured.
I pre-drilled the holes with an 1/8" bit and then bolted in these 1" lag screws starting at the center joint to make sure everything lined up.
I learned my lesson on the second one, drill the holes first. There are pre-drilled holes in the corners, but I added some extra lags to be on the safe side. I used 20 1/4" lags on each 90" section. They aren't supplied.
I bought a 24" X 24" 3/4" sheet of plywood to mount under the right lower for my vise. It's probably overkill, but so is my entire garage.
So I'm about 10 hours into the install. If you are reading this and know how to hang a level picture, you can do this. I'm not super handy and have never installed cabinets in this order of magnitude. It is time consuming, but is very simple.
I have to build the other three uppers and install them. Then let the organization bonanza begin!

Outstanding! They look great, and from watching your detailing vids, I'm sure you'll enjoy having about triple the counter space and tons of storage.
Did you end up shimming any of the base cabinets to get everything perfectly level, or did it happen to work out nicely with just the pallet and lauan underneath? Can't wait to see the end results!
