Wout, that looks very neat for a windscreen washer. A similar law came in here years ago and lots of vintage cars have horrible aftermarket and retro fit washers that don't look good at all!
I remember some kits for sale at the time had a hand pump for the fluid you had to push a big button on an ugly bracket fixed inside the car and it worked as a plunger piston to squirt the washer fluid..
Always enjoy reading your thread. J.

Bought a mixture of old stuff. Wanted the lot for the old connectors and hoped there would be some Hazet stuff within the wrenches. Happy with the connectors but had no luck with the Hazet. Alltrough some good tools came with the lot.

Wout

I see there are some, presumably older, pipe wrenches in there. Decent pipe wrenches are very costly new, so if those are older decent ones, they’re well worth having!

I’ve bought a few mixed lots of used tools over the years. Most of it gets used for something. Even really rough screwdrivers get cleaned up. If they’re halfway decent I use them when I’m doing decorating work, as everything seems to get paint on!

Nice setup and Vintage Hazet stuff I have found a lot of Hazet at the pawn shops the most recent find was a 7mm wrench. I own a classic VW Beetle and I heard they make a lot of special tools for it so I try to look for them.

Maybe someone can help me out on this one? My vintage sacem drill falls down every time I lose the handle. I suppose there’s a (leaf-)spring in it somewhere that is broken or came loose but can’t figure it out. I don’t have any documentation on it so I’m kind of blind searching on this problem. The drill works well and very smooth but it’s really annoying I have to hold the drill up all the time. Really want to solve this little issue so any help is much appreciated!

Wout

I think it is called: "spindle return spring".

There seem to be a few different types. I see many utube videos on them when I googled that term.

If you cannot find the correct part try googling clock springs. They use a similar spring and come in a variety of widths, lengths, and thicknesses. The closest one to you I know of is Meadows & Passmore in England. They sell on line internationally and have their catalog on line.

Thanks! First of all I have to figure out what kind of spring I need cause I think it's not the 'flat' spring as most of the drill presses use. I think so because there's a round hole in the spindle instead of the 'slit' most have. Didn't find pictures of that sort yet.

Wout

Perhaps there was a stud or rivet there before? Just pressed in and the tension of the spring held it together?

maybe you could modify a flat spring? Cut off the tab and drill a hole for a stud/rivet?

spring steel is a pain to deal with.

I found these two, they have a keyhole slot.

Went to an old barn clear out nearby today and was lucky to find some old Hazet tools. Tools where rusty and dirty but changed a lot with only some scotch bride and oil.

Could use some of it to fill my socket boxes some more with the right tools.

Wout

That’s cool. I have only ever come across 2 Hazet tools both wrenches didn’t know they made a whole bunch of other stuff too that’s cool.

Hi Blake

They do made and still make a lot of different tools and tool cabinets/trolleys. Company was founded in 1868 and is still up and running owned by the same Zerver family. I have posted a lot of my Hazet stuff in this thread but there's an all Hazet thread to.

Wout

Very interesting I thought the company had went defunct along time ago. I’m glad to know they didn’t.

That Hazet stuff is all very good quality, and usually very expensive too! Not often seen here.
Wout, what's the little DOE wrench next to the screwdriver in your first pic? Is it a Gedore DIN 995? Hope the wall is coming along OK and not too rainy there to work on it.

Hi Wout,
Thanks for the pics.
Your wall looks great btw, and your neigbor should be happy to admire such good quality brickwork from his garden. Mrs Farmer J 's Father was a builder she had a look and says very good. He could lay 1,000 bricks in a day but keeping him supplied with mortar was a killer!
Those wrenches of mine are all DIN 895, I got the number wrong when i was writing. 995 was the model number of an awful tractor from my teenage years so stuck in my memory..!
I didn't know Hazet made those too. All mine are Gedore, except one which says DGB with the G bigger than the other letters. All are 'made in West Germany'. Mine came as tool kit with various machines, the best of which ware Claas combine harvesters. I like them in the tractor toolboxes as they're very strong and quite a slim profile.
I bought 2 of the Gedore 10mm/13mm ones new only a few years ago to replace lost ones.
I don't think I posess a single Hazet tool, shame, I will keep an eye out for them!
