Are any of the commonly found locking cord ends rated for HP?
Sure there are. But its the amount of HP that matters here. So how much HP are we talkin’?Are any of the commonly found locking cord ends rated for HP?
If you are talking about single phase, then L6-50R/P covers it.3 hp 240v twist lock
Pull out A/C disconnects are pretty cheap, way cheaper then locking receptacles & attachment plugs, here is one link, https://www.homedepot.com/p/Halex-60-Amp-Non-Fusible-Metallic-AC-Disconnect-HNF60R/205785642single phase I have 12 3hp fans to wire and thought plug and recep. would be cheaper than disconnects also makes service easier.
I don't believe that matters. It's all about the HPfla 14.5 amp
How often is service really needed? If it's stationary, I'd just use the disconnect that Norcal linked. It's done every day for a/c condensers.single phase I have 12 3hp fans to wire and thought plug and recep. would be cheaper than disconnects also makes service easier.
Walmart sells them...but check out the prices.https://meltric.com makes motor rated plugs and receptacles, but I've never actually seen one in the wild.
I prefer safety switches over pull out discos, just not the price difference.yeah I thought about the ac disc. but they just seem kinda chincy use them for water heaters an such but not in ag buildings
Meltric makes a decent product but too $$$ for this crowd. Typically found in mfg settings.https://meltric.com makes motor rated plugs and receptacles, but I've never actually seen one in the wild.
Is each fan on its own ckt? What about using cb locks? What is the environment these fans will be in?single phase I have 12 3hp fans to wire and thought plug and recep. would be cheaper than disconnects also makes service easier.
