Sure there are. But its the amount of HP that matters here. So how much HP are we talkin’?

Commonly found, yes. For 3 HP and smaller. 5HP and up, not so common. In fact, I don't recall ever using one and my career goes back to 1994.

How often is service really needed? If it's stationary, I'd just use the disconnect that Norcal linked. It's done every day for a/c condensers.

A pretty strong case for Norcal's disconnect.

The plugs and connector bodies even require a proprietary separately bought cord grip as well.

I prefer safety switches over pull out discos, just not the price difference.

Meltric makes a decent product but too $$$ for this crowd. Typically found in mfg settings.

Is each fan on its own ckt? What about using cb locks? What is the environment these fans will be in?
