Someone has a thing for 2nd gen SV's
How have you been? I sold the SV and bought an FZ1000. You should make it down to the rally this year. I'm in charge so you know it's going to be a good time!haha Hi Dustin [emoji481]
It is true.
04 yellow was my first bike
05 was my first project bike
00 yellow is my wife's bike
04 blue is my dad's bike
I'm a few years away from upgrading the garage but I have a jump on storage
I got a lot of information from this thread when I did my garage, but I don't think I've shared any pics. Here are a few pics from the last few years.
I built the shop as a motorcycle shop, but it works great as a hobby shop and gathering place too. I've got 7 "boys" that I helped raise around the neighborhood that make the shop their home during many nights of the week. They are all getting married and getting places of their own, but they still spend lots of time here working on projects. All of them are accomplished and trained mechanics and are considerably more skilled than I am. I have a general rule that I'll buy any tool they need for a project as long as they teach me how to use it and that it stays in the shop.
The shop is comfortable enough with the heating and AC to keep the wives and girlfriends happy while hanging out too. My kids are starting to do their own projects out there as well. The garage is the most utilized living space in our house after the kitchen and has been one of the best investments I have made.
Pic 1: 3 motor rebuilds in one night after a streak of bad luck on my son's bikes. He's hard on motors and his mechanic *****!:

The token sticker fridge. I fund our little race team with free Mountain Dew for helping work on all of my projects.

The bicycle area. Drives me crazy when kids leave the bikes and scooters laying around my shop. This has helped a bit. I put air right by the bikes so they don't have to drag the hose around the shop. Now all the kids in the neighborhood come by for air in their bikes or tune-ups from my kids.

Nice cabinet. What's the model? Did it come with the closet rod?
Love how the mountain bike matches the S1000, incredible machine.
So, I finally am getting around to posting some pictures of my "soon to be" garage for my motorcycles. I came here to get some ideas on what to do to my basement/moto garage. I've been through this whole thread and have seen some amazing motorcycles as well as garages. I will be starting a thread soon on my build. Here is what I have to work with so far. I will be starting from this point.

This is an awesome shop and something I will probably steal many ideas from. Im a moto guy myself so this is dreamy! Wanna make an 8th kid in the family?I got a lot of information from this thread when I did my garage, but I don't think I've shared any pics. Here are a few pics from the last few years.

Here is my motorcycle garage. I have two lifts as it seems I always have at least two I am working on (often more).

I also have a habit of buying and selling dirt bikes. I am lucky enough to have an unfinished basement where I put them if they are not being worked on.

Nice. Those appear to be the same two lifts I have. It also appears we are close in locations. I live in West Point and work in Layton. Nice to see another Utahn on the forum.
Mike.
Thanks Mike! The lifts have been a great addition to the shop.
I checked out some of your posts and you have a great shop and amazing talent! Very impressive

Thought I would update since I started this thread 6 years ago. Two of the bikes from my original pics are gone - the F4 and 929. We replaced them with: 08 GSXR-750, 09 R1, and 12 Ninja 1000. Lots of little detail changes - I put up extension cord reels and an air line reel - what a difference! The Coats 220 doesn't get nearly as much use since I went to Pilot Road tires. Going for my first ride of the year in an hour or so, so the Nija is out and staged for departure.
