Throwing away everything I don't think I'll have a use for.
Madness! Throwing things away?
I've got 60's era metal coffee cans filled with old fasteners, springs, and other assorted nonsense still in my garage -- they're from my grandfather (a lifelong mechanic) who passed in 1990, it all came out of his garage when we sold their last house in 2009 after my grandmother passed.
Along side that is stuff from my father (a 40-year property manager) when he downsized to a condo several years ago (enough yard tools to start a landscaping company, and other extremely useful stuff like a 40lb 5' long steel bar used to lift manhole covers... because that's something I need on a regular basis right?).
One day my kid will throw open the doors to my garage/sheds and say "WTF am I supposed to do with all this?", and maybe he'll also be posting about all the **** from his forefathers but hopefully not throwing away those gently used springs removed from a 1973 Caprice carburetor 50 years earlier
